The two Republican’s are in the em did defending the FACT that Joseph R. Biden IS the President of the United States because he WON the 2020 Presidential election…
In do so…
He list’s other Republicans and the FACT that the courts have affirmed this…
No how he tries to deny it?
Donald J. Trump LOST the chance to get a second term in 2020….
Don’t matter how much crying Trump does…..
Following an attack by former President Donald Trump, Sen Mitt Romney defended fellow Republican Sen. Mike Rounds of South Dakota on Monday for accurately stating that the 2020 election was fair and that Trump “did not win.”
In an appearance on ABC’s “This Week,” Rounds was asked what he thought of the members of his party who bought into Trump’s disproven claim that his loss was attributable to voter fraud.
“We looked — as a part of our due diligence, we looked at over 60 different accusations made in multiple states,” Rounds responded. “While there were some irregularities, there were none of the irregularities which would have risen to the point where they would have changed the vote outcome in a single state. The election was fair, as fair as we have seen. We simply did not win the election, as Republicans, for the presidency.”
Trump’s relentless campaign to convince the nation that Biden had not actually won the election, despite a 7 million vote margin in the popular vote and a resounding 306-232 Electoral College victory, served as the basis for the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol by his supporters…

My reading between the lines of Mitt Romney’s Tweet is that he cleverly threw Ron Johnson under the bus. The two Senators are said to not like each other.
Johnson once begrudgingly admitted on tv that Biden won the election, and Romney signaled him out as agreeing with him.

Well….
Well….
He, he, he….
Seems that Mitt Romney ain’t the only one that has Mike Rounds back on the LOSS of Donald Trump…..
Republicans Defend Mike Rounds After Trump Attack
“Senior Republicans are closing ranks behind Sen. Mike Rounds (R-SD) after he endured a scathing attack from former President Donald Trump for acknowledging the reality that President Joe Biden won the 2020 election,” CNN reports.
Said Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY): “I think Sen. Rounds told the truth about what happened in the 2020 election. And I agree with him.”
Said Sen. John Thune (R-SD): “I say to my colleague, welcome to the club.”

In mid-March, the wing of the Republican Party that has resisted former President Donald Trump’s takeover will gather in northern Virginia.
The occasion? A fundraiser for Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney, with Utah Sen. Mitt Romney as a special guest. Who else is slated be there? Former Vice President Dick Cheney. Former Department of Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff. Former Virginia Reps. Barbara Comstock and Denver Riggleman. Former Solicitor General Ted Olson. Longtime lobbyist Charlie Black. (CNN’s Kasie Hunt and Manu Raju obtained a copy of the invitation.)
If you are looking for the Trump resistance, this is it ….
…. The simple fact? This is a tiny offshoot of the broader Republican Party. While there are some Republicans willing to stand up to Trump, they are nowhere near the sort of numbers that the former president boasts on his side.
Consider a few poll numbers:
* More than 6 in 10 (63%) Republicans nationally said they want Trump to run again in 2024, according to a new Marquette Law School poll.
* Three-quarters of Republicans had a favorable view of Trump in that same poll.
* 63% of Republicans said they wanted Trump to be the leader of the party in a September 2021 CNN poll.
What these numbers make clear is that the narrative of a fight for control between two warring parts of the GOP is a false one. There is no real fight. Trump won and has cowed almost everyone within the party to line up behind him (or at least refuse to oppose him publicly) as the likely 2024 nominee…

DSD succinctly described their state of the Republican Party today.
As for Liz Cheney?Lets assume that she manages to eke out a win. So?Shes now a pariah in the House Republican Caucus. Its very possible that they they might expel her from the caucus or refuse her any committee positions.
Way way too much emphasis is being placed here on her and other anti Trumpers..They have no power in the Party, rather as dissident Republicans they get a lot of media attention .Thats all.

No their miniscule numbers won’t be able to change the party on their own. But you need people speaking against the direction of the party from within or any hope that the party can change direction is gone. I think the work of Cheney and Kinzinger is important – even though it appears neatly certain to fail – at least for the rime being.
What the GOP will be like in seven years is not certain. Just as the seeds of Trump were planted by his GOP predecessors, we need people on the inside of the GOP trying to change the party or preparing to start a new one. and the work is needed now.

Former Vice President Mike Pence said he had not spoken to former President Donald Trump since last summer, revealing the extent of the rift between the pair since the Capitol riot.
When asked by Fox News’ Jesse Watters on Thursday when he last spoke to Trump, Pence said: “You know, we talked last summer. And you know I’ve said many times, it was difficult, January 6 was difficult. It was a tragic day in the life of the nation.”
He continued: “I know I did my duty under the constitution of the United States, but the president and I sat down in the days that followed that, we spoke about it, talked through it, we parted amicably.”…
