NBC has a story about the new trend of people getting mad when they show up at hospitals with severe COVID-19 symptoms and the doctors refuse to give them horse dewormer to fix it. Well, it’s mostly a story about the families of COVID-19 patients getting mad when their alleged loved ones aren’t being given horse dewormer, since the actual patients may or may not be in a state where they can argue with anyone. It’s worth reading for the brief rundown of the time a semiprominent Montana Republican octogenarian was hospitalized with COVID-19 and the family had the Republican freakin’ state attorney general badgering the hospital to provide horse dewormer, including threatening to arrest hospital workers.
She died, by the way. It’s not explicitly written that she died of COVID-19. It’s possible that she died from having shitty family members so wrapped up with trying to get junk “Republican” treatments shoved into her mouth that doctors couldn’t focus on giving her actual treatment, for all we know. Not a lot of details there.
We did not have very far to go, between throwing actual literal parades for our medical heroes and people threatening them with violence if their relatives are treated with anything other than Farmers’ Choice Premium Horse Paste, TM, because in truth hospital staff members have long been used to patients and those with patients getting violent, or making threats of violence, when doctors or nurses disagree with them about what their diagnosis should be or what drugs should be dispensed to fix it. There’s something particularly Republican about this new strain, though.

The doctor doesn’t “get” that Republicans like Johnson couldn’t care less about the truth.Its all about pandering to the kooks who increasingly dominate the Republican Party.The kooks have made Fauci the object of their hate because he’s attempted to protect people from dying.
Johnson and most of the trash he is appealing to characterize themselves as “ pro Life.”
We have a disease (we hadn’t even heard of two years ago) that has killed close to 800,000 people, and has caused additional devastation with long haul cases where people have permanent health issues such as damaged lungs.
Covid is One of the leading causes of death in the US and the majority of deaths would have been very preventable if people took the actions that Fauci suggested.
Ron Johnson’ continues a remarkable streak of him making incredibly stupid comments that led to more People dying. Does he believe this nonsense? I doubt it very much, but for him power and prestige is what is important and he knows what Conservatives want. And they want to hear destructive lies about people who work with Biden – even if those lies ultimately cost people’s lives.
Now comes Cong Jim Jordan(Kook Republican-Ohio) declaring that the “real America is done with Covid “as over a thousand people a day continue to die from the disease and over a hundred thousand a day are infected with it.
He is “pro life” you know.
He won’t wear a mask and speaks of God often. He cannot cover his face to protect his family, friends, co-workers, or strangers from illness and death.
The word God should turn to dirt in his mouth.
After all of these years, I still don’t “get” the religion of these people. The willingness to put other people at risk of death is evil in my book. Jordan knows that thousands are dying each week and many others are suffering from long haul Covid, but he doesn’t care. He knows that if the case load goes down, the economy will recover, and I can’t help but believe that he would rather see people suffer with the hope that Biden will get blamed. What is Jotdan doing to reduce the number of deaths or cases?
