After working in the Trump admin and quitting here job….
She HAD BEEN an outspoken Republican against some of Donald Trump’s actions related to the Capitol protest on Jan.6…
THAT was getting her no traction with any political future in her party….
She is in the 2024 Republican Presidential nomination polls….
Her first request to meet with ‘The Donald’ was turned down….
She now has gotten a chance to have media reports that she has met with Trump….
The ex-President maybe leary of her still…
But he did the meeting nevertheless….
Former President Trump and former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haleymet at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort last week amid speculation both are eyeing White House runs in 2024.
Two sources familiar with the meeting confirmed to The Hill that the two sat down, with one calling it “positive.” Neither source said what Trump and Haley discussed.
The meeting was first reported by Politico….
….
Haley excoriated Trump after the Jan. 6 insurrection in an interview with Politico Magazine, suggesting the former president would no longer be a force in GOP politics.
“We need to acknowledge he let us down,” she said. “He went down a path he shouldn’t have, and we shouldn’t have followed him, and we shouldn’t have listened to him. And we can’t let that ever happen again.”
Those remarks were met with an avalanche of criticism from Trump and his allies, and Haley ultimately softened her tone toward the former president….
…
“President Trump and the GOP built one of the hottest economies in American history. Wages rose to new heights. Unemployment fell to record lows. Families thrived and businesses grew. Remember what it was like just two years ago?” she said….
…
Haley isn’t the only Trump administration alum considering a White House bid in 2024….

The year 2022 is supposed to be a banner one for Republicans, so why are three of the region’s top Republicans passing on big contests?
By James Pindell, Boston Globe Staff,
If recent polling is to be believed, the 2022 midterm elections could be among the best ever for Republicans. So while it is unusual these days for Republicans to do exceedingly well in deeply Democratic New England, if there was ever a time for an ambitious Republican to give it a shot, it would be now.
Yet in less than a month’s time, three of the most popular Republicans in New England have bypassed major election contests.
First, it was New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu, who turned down a chance to run for the US Senate. He was followed by Vermont Governor Phil Scott, who didn’t even entertain calls to get into his state’s newly open Senate race after the retirement of Senator Pat Leahy. And last week, Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker decided he would back out of a major race himself by not seeking reelection to a third term….

I see it as all three knowing their limits. Getting elected Governor as Republican in New England is one thing. Getting elected to the Senate is another.

CG could not understand how I could vote for Republicans for State office, but almost never for federal office to the point rhat he thought I was lying when I said I vote for Republicans in every election.

I just asked if any names could be provided for a statewide race and besides for I believe the 1982 U.S. Senate nominee in NJ, they were not able to be provided.

What Democrat for a federal or statewide office has Corey ever voted for Zreebs?
We know the answer.
I too have voted for lots of Republicans, even for federal office. But that was then and this is now, and the pro-death Republicans won’t get my vote.
Interesting the last statewide Republican I voted for got a special thank you to me from Corey, the keeper of the Republican flame. I always found that funny.
After what Republicans did to our state over the years I won’t be voting for another anytime soon. Don’t have to, we usually see all Democratic finish in the November runoff here, and registered Republicans are in third place behind the “non declared.”
Expect more Congressional Republicans to retire here after our map is finalized. Nunes can sell that cow now.
