I guess the Maryland Governor , a Republican, didn’t the memo about NOT dissing Donald Trump in public?
Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) knocked former President Trump on Monday over the former president’s loss in the Old Line State during the 2020 election
“Personally, I’d prefer endorsements from people who didn’t lose Maryland by 33 points,” Hogan wrote on Twitter shortly after Trump announced that he was endorsing Maryland state Del. Daniel Cox (R) for governor in next year’s GOP primary. Hogan, who is barred from running for reelection due to term limits, is backing state Commerce Secretary Kelly Schultz in the race.
Trump lost the 2020 presidential election in Maryland to President Biden by 33.2 percentage points, according to The New York Times….
…
Hogan has been a sharp critic of Trump, condemning the then-president for prematurely declaring victory in the 2020 presidential race and blaming him for inciting the crowd at his rally that preceded the Capitol riot on Jan. 6.
In May, the governor said Trump is “toxic for the Republican Party and for the country.”…

Another desperate attempt to “prove” that Trump is “slipping.”
Hogan has always been against Trump. He wins in a deep blue state with the help of Democratic voters .
His statement is no surprise and has no particular significance ,except to an obsessed individual frantically seeking any little tidbit to justify his fantasy.

The Republican Party is paying Trump’s legal bills but we’re supposed to believe that his control over the party is fading.
Really?

I guess the GOP feels that entering an election year, paying Trump’s bills is the best use of their money.

Or Z?
Trump will come down on them like a TON of bricks….

Hogan is term limited in his current role as Governor. He could never be elected to the Senate from Maryland unless he switched parties. Hard to see where he goes from here other than a Presidential campaign where he would be a distinct underdog to win even one primary.
But Ron Gunzberger could say he managed a Presidential campaign if that were to happen.

I really doubt that, the Republican Party today is on the road to authoritarianism.

Just putting this out….
