Almost everyday we see a piece about President Biden and the Democrats being in trouble….
The media answer is the pandemic….
Yup that IS an issue…
But?
The immediate acute everyday issue for more and MORE Americans is the increase in the cost of things….
Inflation….
The rapid reopening of the economy this summer led to massive price hikes for travel services, used cars and other goods that were initially dismissed as fleeting phenomena. But the inflation spike now appears to be on track to persist deep into 2022, when midterm elections will determine who controls Congress, as clogged supply chains, labor shortages and unabated consumer demand push costs even higher.
That prospect has heightened concern among Democrats about the potential political fallout, and the administration has scrambled to address some of the root causes even as officials argue that there’s little they can do to resolve them on their own.
The longer the issues last, the more likely they are to become politically perilous for congressional Democrats running for re-election and hoping to hold onto their slim House and Senate majorities as voters feel the squeeze of elevated prices on everyday goods and services….

The inflation is directly related to the pandemic.
Interestingly.,earlier this week ,you posted that Bidens problem was “perception” and didn’t even mention either inflation ot the pandemic.
Your efforts here to downgrade the pandemic are well known.
The fact is of course to anyone who has any knowledge of what’s going on in the country the pandemic hovers over every other issue.
Bottom line?As long as this pandemic continues ?Economic problems will continue too.
jamesb says
Inflation IS a LARGE result of the stoppage of things for over a year….
But ?
As has been mentioned by those involved….
There are contributing other factors….
Online business changes…
Gas supply ups and downs…
Political policies on trade….
Etc….

The major contributor is the pandemic as every economist has noted.
The other matters you mentioned are strictly ancillary to the supply problems which are Directly tied to the pandemic.
Once again ,as in so many other matters, only here will you read of someone downplaying the effect of the pandemic on the economy .
In “but for “ terms…
But for the pandemic, there wouldn’t be the supply problems which are direct cause of the inflation.
jamesb says
Nevertheless Jack?
There ARE other issues caused by the pandemic AND ORHER things as u note…
They ARE happing together as an occurrence
Things in life ARE more complex as i keep saying here and u keep trying dodge….

The fact IS virus numbers HAVE declined steadily since the beginning of Sept.

Wearing masks will help keep the other things low in numbers….Even for those vaccinated

Jack is totally correct here. The current supply chain issues can be directly tied to the pandemic and those issues are driving inflation. I wish James both read and understood many of his own posts, and like Jack, I wish he would stop trying to downplay the pandemic and just get vaccinated.
Why aren’t you vaccinated James?? Real Americans get vaccinated.
The other day Jack explained James’ perception problem, his need to comment on everything even when it is obvious he clearly doesn’t know what he is talking about. And, how those endless and mindless comments create the impression that he is simply a very selfish man who doesn’t fulfill his responsibilities as a citizen (you know, vaccine and pay taxes).
But he also told us January 6th was in the “rear view mirror” and dismissed it, illustrating both his ignorance and lack of commitment to democracy.
Most of us stay here to interact with the other posters on this blog. I for one skip over most of what James posts because I have already read it and his interpretation of the issue is almost universally wrong and driven by his desire to dismiss Donald Trump’s oversized influence on the Republican Party.
Finally, James was very upset because Zreebs called him out over taxes. He completely forgot that he told us he planned to manipulate his taxes to pay less. He outlined that little scenario, not that it would have worked. So I don’t see why he got so upset.

He, he, he
OFF COURSE JACK IS CORRECT!
I just can’t stop lsughting😁😀🤣
You two just made my day❗️
Thank You
Keith says
He was also right when he got vaccinated James. Why haven’t you gotten vaccinated James? What are you afraid of? A needle?
jamesb says
Ok
U two
Can either of u name one or more things u guys
DISAGREE ON?
I’m guessing u’ll duck this question in some way both of ya?🙄
My Name Is Jack says
What is the big deal that two posters often agree with each other?
You act as if there’s something “wrong” with that.
The bigger question is why, out of the “hundreds” of people who visit this site(according to you) no one ever agrees with you.
Then again ,maybe there are few rational observers of the current scene who subscribe to your off the wall political meanderings and incomprehensible rhetoric.
You come across as a juvenile whiner, mad because no one wants to play with you.
You want to see the problem ?
Stare in the mirror then read some of the tripe you write here and try (this will be hard due to your usual irrational bent) to practice a little logical thinking ,rather than your usual emotional steam of consciousness outbursts which you label”optimism” which essentially are nothing more than flights of fancy with little connection to reality.
jamesb says
Lets see if u two will answer my question
I’m sure u guys won’t
Keith says
We’ve been asking one of you for weeks James.
Why aren’t you vaccinated?
jamesb says
Ha, Ha, Ha…..
I KNEW U’d duck!
Thanks for the laughs today
I appreciate it!
My Name Is Jack says
Do you realize how pitiful you sound?
Keith says
Unfortunately Jack I don’t think he does.

Like Porky Pig at the end of Looney Tunes: “That’s all, folks!”
Zreebs says
I don’t even understand the point of James’s question. Why don’t you state the reason for your question. With you, one can never be sure. Are you suggesting that Jack and Keith do not think independently?
If one makes a post and the other doesn’t comment, it doesn’t mean that they agree. I suspect that most of the time they largely agree with each other, and often totally agree. And truthfully, neither of them ever makes outlandish statements (off hand, I can’t recall any from either of them), so I would not expect any strong disagreements.
