Yet, despite the profound political backlash, Mr. Cuomo has refused to step down. Mr. Cuomo has repeatedly denied many of the claims and any deliberate wrongdoing, apologizing for interactions that may have made women “feel uncomfortable.”
In late February, Lindsey Boylan, a former economic development official in the Cuomo administration, became the first woman to outline her claims against the governor. Ms. Boylan said Mr. Cuomo suggested they play “strip poker” on a plane while on a work trip and said the governor kissed her on the lips in his Manhattan office….

The report also indicates that Chris Cuomo of CNN was far more involved in trying to help his brother politically on this than previously known or admitted to. CNN will have to address this sort of improper behavior with their employee.

Going into 9/11, Giuliani had about a 50 percent job approval rating. Not bad all things considered.
After 9/11, his approval rating reached the high 80s in the city. He was on top of the political world in terms of popularity the end of that year. A clear fact.

The third term example is not a good one.
Giuliani would have needed the state legislature (controlled by Democrats) to make an immediate special law to allow him to run again very late in the game. Those Democrats clearly wanted to see a Democrat become Mayor. Giuliani decided not to pursue that fight. He should not have been able to serve a special third term because the law was the law.
Bloomberg had a lot of time to get the law changed and worked on it for a long time. He only needed the NYC Council to change the law, not the state legislature.
Had Giuliani been allowed to run for another term (or even run as a write-in), he would have easily won a third term post 9/11. Everyone knows it.

Nothing before today matters in terms of polls and Cuomo. For one thing, Biden, the leader of his party, has now called on him to resign.
Now, again, the U.S. Attorneys Office in Brooklyn is *still* investigating Cuomo regarding the nursing homes. That takes a backseat due to the salaciousness of the other problems he has.
This is a different matter than some specific Justice Department commission in Washington DC which has said it is not going to look into civil complaints regarding New York and two other states.
The Albany District Attorney, which is investigating Cuomo for sexual assault, says it is asking the Attorney General’s Office to turn over evidence to assist in their probe.
Cuomo’s official response to the AG’s findings is to release dozens of photos showing himself hugging and kissing people at public settings as well as other political figures hugging and kissing each other at public settings. Like Trump, Cuomo seems to really like to point to “hugging and kissing” as a defense.
I am surprised he did not include a series of photos of medical exams and mammograms to defend his habit of touching womens’ breasts.
