I did several posts this morning about things going on in America that are important…
Racism…
A Building Collapse….
Democratic politics….
The media headlines though?
They are about a ‘loser’ President trying get crowds back…
A Circus Act…
Go figure….
Former President Trump is set to resume his signature campaign rallies Saturday with an appearance in Wellington, Ohio, reviving a tool that helped gin up astonishing levels of enthusiasm for his presidential campaigns.
The event will ostensibly serve to support former White House aide Max Miller, a staunch Trump ally who is waging a primary challenge against Rep. Anthony Gonzalez (Ohio), one of 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach the former president over his role in inciting the Jan. 6 insurrection. But Trump is also looking to use Saturday’s event and subsequent rallies to solidify his role as leader of the GOP.
Trump has appeared at various events as he resurfaces on the political scene, including speaking in February at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) and earlier this month to the North Carolina GOP. Still, there are few events that are able to harness both the attention of the national media and the adoration of his followers as effectively as his raucous rallies….

Trump Kicks Off His Revenge Tour
“Donald Trump on Saturday will kick off his revenge tour against Republicans who defied him in the aftermath of the 2020 election and January 6 insurrection, hoping to convince his supporters to fire Ohio Rep. Anthony Gonzalez,” CNN reports.
“The effort to oust the Republicans who crossed him will be one of the biggest tests of Trump’s post-presidential power, assessing whether the former President still has the sway with base Republican voters that he enjoyed during his four years in the White House.”

(Could this effort flop like everything else Trump does?)

Donald Trump certainly succeeded in one thing: winning nomination and election to the Presidency in 2016.
jamesb says
Yes he did…….
I’d add stealing a party away from it’s leadership……
BUT?
As usual?
He went ahead and fucked things up…..
2018 Midterm Dem Wave
Losing his job
Helping Dem’s gain TWO US Senate seats in Red Georgia
Capitol Protest resulting in more than 400 arrests
Turmoil within his hostilely taken over party
His foundation put out of business
His business organization about to be charged criminally
Screwing up Americans response to a pandemic
Did I miss any other of his screw up’s?

In my mind?
Donald J. Trump is nothing but a misplaced ‘Loser’
The media loves the guy for attention and entertainment
Why people think he’s the ‘second coming’ for Republicans is beyond me
And the bent reality and lies?

Trump’s traveling endorsement circus show….
At a Saturday night rally before a huge crowd in Wellington, Ohio, Trump spoke for about 90 minutes at the rural county fairgrounds, reviving his trademark rallies for the first time since leaving office.
He repeated his endorsement of former aide Max Miller, who is challenging the Republican House incumbent, Anthony Gonzalez. The choice reflected Trump’s penchant for rewarding personal friends and those who further his false contention that the 2020 presidential election result was fraudulent or, alternately, punishing Republicans who voted for his impeachment, including Gonzalez…
…
Trump’s endorsement calculation, according to three advisers, usually comes down to his impression of how loyal they’ve been to him, what they’ve said about him in the past, whether the candidate is running against someone he despises and whether the candidate can win….

You have a lot of things in your “mind.”
The fact is ,as DSD was illustrating,Donald Trump will go down as probably the greatest political phenomenon in history as of now.
A Guy who was considered somewhat of a clownish figure, who participated in professional wrestling shows, Declared bankruptcy, ran an unsuccessful gambling casino, was a semi regular on a shock jock radio show bragging about his sexual exploits in vivid language ,called other candidates names and hosted a silly reality tv show, then goes on to win the nomination of a major political party There was no “theft” involved.Indeed he played right by the rules. He entered the primaries ,won the most delegates and captured the nomination
No one here thinks he’s the “second coming.” Such would imply some admiration for him and I don’t see how anyone ,even the likes of you ,could believe that.( see my comment last Sunday as to your lack of political knowledge) .
What most have acknowledged here is that even today he maintains the support of the majority of those who identify them selves as “Republicans.”This ,even after he tied to steal an election that he plainly lost ,tried to bully election officials to participate in the theft, tried and succeeded to a surprising extent in getting Congresspeople of his party to verbally ,and in some cases ,actually participate in the attempted theft, and then helped orchestrate an insurrection that led to an attack by his supporters on the Capitol of the United States.

He’s STILL a clownish figure desperately
Trying to hold on to the spotlight..,,
In the days and months ahead?
We will witness his fall from grace
His approval numbers have tanked
He appeals to the underbelly of the GOP
Despite the virw that he has the party by the nose?
The 2024 vultures are already circling
That while the books keep coming out showing how fucked up the giy is
The crowning moments wil come as the giys money comes under attack
The circus plays on…..
The media can’t get enough

I read yesterday that my 72 year old next door neighbor, who was a Trump supporter, died on Friday from injuries sustained when his bicycle was hit by a car the week prior.

A look at a recent Trump rally that explains how the air has gone out the ballon and that there are some people out there that still believe Trump’s bent reality….
…
…When he finally took the stage, Trump attacked Biden’s policies and became animated when he pivoted to the past, talking about his negotiations with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un and his plans for a border wall.
There was a familiarity to it all. The chants of “4 MORE YEARS!” and “LOCK HIM UP!” (this time, aimed at infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci instead of former campaign rival Hillary Clinton). The recitation of the sinister poem, “The Snake.”
And yet, there were signs this rally was different. During past rallies, Trump’s supporters applauded Trump as he trashed immigrants, demonized the media, and echoed his calls to lock up his opponents. But they also felt hopeful the Manhattan billionaire was giving them a voice. There was a sense that this charismatic outsider would empower them to change Washington, and a joyfulness that came with being part of a movement. Now, they felt cheated. “WE THE PEOPLE ARE PISSED OFF,” one popular rally T-shirt read. Their champion was no longer in office, which means he had been stripped of any real power. It seemed to feed a sense of desperation, even from Trump himself.
“The subject matter is somewhat depressing,” he said of his own speech….

Fox News, on a Saturday night when they would have gotten higher ratings for doing so, did not even air Trump’s rally this weekend. OAN showed it. He looked very sweaty.
And he only spoke for 60 minutes. Low stamina.
