There are so many people lined up to run for her seat back in Wyoming that she could win her seat with the splits ….
She DOES have a base of support back home….
And some of that will actually be Democrats….
While Cheney is not currently whipping support to beat back the challenge to her House leadership role, she still has formidable political advantages at home and will not be easy to beat. Cheney has a massive network of donors and $1.4 million in the bank. Her father, a former congressman and vice president, is still popular in the state. Former House Speakers John Boehner and Paul Ryan both helped raise money for her, and her donor disclosures are peppered with recognizable names, from former Bush-era Labor Secretary nominee Linda Chavez to political strategist Mary Matalin to Wal-Mart heiress Christy Walton.
While some in Wyoming still grouse that Cheney is a carpetbagger, having moved from Virginia for an aborted 2014 Senate run before winning her House seat two years later, Cheney also has a strong connection with the associations and groups that make up Wyoming’s oil and gas industry, an important sector of the state.
“Whether she’s in leadership, or wherever she’s at, she has a Rolodex of contacts that are pretty impressive. And she can actually move the needle for Wyoming,” said former state Rep. Amy Edmonds, a former Cheney staffer. “She has some powerful industries behind her here in the state, and they’re sticking with her.”….

And then there’s Wyoming’s election law that allows voters to change their registration on the day of the primary. There are not many Democrats in Wyoming — Joe Biden got less than 27 percent of the vote there in 2020 — but that rule would allow Democrats and independents to boost Cheney in her proxy fight with Trump, should they wish.
“There’s no question that crossover takes place, and, to some degree, influences elections,” said state Senate Minority Leader Chris Rothfuss, a Democrat.

But here he is ,essentially ordering the House Republicans To boot Cheney out of the leadership.
As for Democrats voting for Cheney?I guesss some will as a protest against Trump.Thats all it is though.Cheney is a very conservative member of the Republican caucus.Few Democrats ,beside her opposition to Trump, would find much that they agree with her on and she has as vigorously opposed Biden as any other Republican.

I assume he means Crash and Burn is based on Republicans winning the House and or Senate back.. If they win one then that will be a Trump Victory, if they lose, then I guess that will be a trump loss…
Now I am interpreting what he said, but by extension, then isn’t James agreeing with the Argument that TRUMP’s influence is much greater than he has said…cause if a 2022 Republican Defeat is a 2022 Trump Crash and Burn then that would assume he finally accepts Trump’s influence has not waned.
The problem is that he has been saying this for five years.

A true crash and burn, I suppose, would be if Trump’s endorsed candidates in next year’s primaries are clearly crushed by those who agree with Liz Cheney and Adam Kinsinger.
One should never abandon hope (even if less-Trumpian candidates can more easily defeat Democratic ones in the general), but this doesn’t, sad to say, look very likely to me now.

Wyoming state Sen. Anthony Bouchard (R), who’s challenging Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) for her House seat, acknowledged in an interview with Casper Star-Tribune that he impregnated a 14-year-old girl when he was 18.

I can envision him doing a post that shows that Trump’s favorability rating declined by 5 points, and then he will exclaim. “See. I told you this would happen.” Of course, he won’t say anything if Trump’s favorability rating does not change or actually increases.
