Virus spreader Republicans mean herd immunity is increasingly an illusion.
Around 45% of Republican virus spreaders say they won’t get vaccinated.
So let’s stop with the “hesitancy” stuff how about it?
This is all about politics.
These Right wing nuts are ,crazy as it seems, making a political statement .
Just plain disgusting.
But remember? They are uh “pro life.”
Scott P says
Time for big business to treat these science deniers as 2nd class citizens. Make clear you need to be vaccinated to fly, stay at hotels, eat at restaurants and go to concerts and sporting events.
I’m done with humoring these assholes.

… or go to work and risk your colleagues’ health and lives.
All those free-enterprise, no-government-regulation absolutists can hardly (but of course will, vocally) object to the unhampered free choices of free, independent, stand-alone businesses.
And should the shareholders object, management (as I’m sure Jack could confirm) can say that they’re protecting the company (and thus their shareholders’ interests) by closing off one route to utterly-ruinous civil liability. (“My husband died a horrible death because his employer allowed an unvaccinated colleague to work beside him.”)
My Name Is Jack says
I second both of the above comments.
Of all the damage the Republicans have done to this country, this might be the worst.
Spreading a damn virus that can kill people and justifying it by silly allusions to their “rights.”
What utter bs!
They don’t give a damn about “rights.” It’s all about their Hate!
Anything to “show them libruls!”
Disgusting.

But, Jack, they’re the Pro-Life party !!

Johnson & Johnson’s single-shot coronavirus vaccine protected against symptomatic and asymptomatic infection, and prevented hospitalization and death in all participants 28 days after vaccination, according to new clinical trial results published Wednesday.
The vaccine was 67 percent effective on average against moderate to severe–critical COVID-19 at least 14 days after administration, and 66 percent effective at 28 days after vaccination, according to data published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
The vaccine was about 77 percent effective against severe/critical COVID-19 at 14 days after administration, and 85 percent after 28 days….

How the White House Hopes to Get Skeptics Vaccinated
Time: “Officials have said that when it comes to persuasion, they have to make sure their efforts won’t exacerbate skepticism. Their strategy largely hinges on channelling talking points and funding to community leaders who they hope will have more sway with many Americans than the federal government.”
Said White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki: “We recognize that the President, that all of us, may not be exactly the right messengers for some of these audiences.”
jamesb says
I not surprised at this….And it is NOT all Political
Daily coronavirus vaccinations have slowed significantly for the first time since February, a sign that demand is slipping even though every American adult is now eligible for the shots.
About 3 million Americans are getting vaccinated daily, an 11 percent decrease in the seven-day average of daily shots administered over the past week. The unprecedented drop is rivaled only by a brief falloff that occurred in February, when winter storms forced the closure of vaccination sites and delayed shipments nationwide…
…
…But millions of Americans are still not signing up for shots for a host of other reasons, from wanting to avoid the hassle of finding an appointment to wanting to wait longer for more research on long-term side effects…
…
Eventually, the nation will see fewer mass vaccination sites at convention centers and stadiums, and more shots offered at doctor’s offices when patients show up for unrelated care. But experts say vaccine doses need to be shipped in smaller packaging so they can be spread out among more facilities and doctors without going to waste….

Nothing is “all” political James.
But any fool, even you, can easily figure out that when half of those who identify with one of the major political parties say they aren’t getting vaccinated and start that stupid Right Wing palaver?
Yes that’s a major problem.
And for the final time…
Have you been vaccinated?
If you refuse to answer ?Then I think we can all assume the answer.
My Name Is Jack says
Perhaps these virus spreaders who “supposedly” are worried about vaccine side effects and can’t be bothered to make an appointment won’t be so uh “worried” or “hassledL if they’re laid up in a hospital on a ventilator?

Smokers pay more for health insurance. So should those who refuse to be vaccinated.

Morning People….
Guys?
The FACT remains that a large amount of Americans ARE hesitant about taking virus shots for various reasons ….
Knocking me for putting this out there as other media now is doing does NOT change a thing….
The J & J situation does NOT help…
The media reporting that a small amount of people get the virus AFTER they have gotten shots doesn’t either….
The other face working here is that Americans, indeed people around the world have virus fatigue ….
They just want to go back their usual lives…
It is no coincidence that American Governor’s are tripping over themselves to reopen their states…
President Biden will do his best to get more people vaccinated….
Good…
I merely report this things….
Jack’s knocks on me are one of the reasons why he comes here…
Im fine with it….
I too old and busy to let it bother me….

The editorial board of the New York Post is encouraging everyone in the country’s largest city to get vaccinated against the coronavirus as the nation struggles to combat vaccine hesitancy despite the federal government’s aggressive rollout efforts.
“We all need to do better, so the greatest city in the world can get back to being great, with crowded streets and that familiar electricity in the air,” the Post wrote in an editorial published online Wednesday night and in print on Thursday.
The editorial was promoted on the paper’s front page with the headline “GET VAXXED!”

Just as the evening news now ends grim reports with Finally, Something Good to Inspire America (awwwwww!!)
You could make the New York Post’s pro-vax editorial into Finally, Something Good about the Murdochs.
(Last time was probably when The Post told Trump to give up and quit moaning.)
Democratic Socialist Dave says
You’re not just dispassionately reporting the objective facts in balance, James, you’re cherry-picking anything that can vaguely be interpreted support your indefensible Republicanesque beliefs that
(1) there’s enough reasonable doubt (barring genuine religious objections) for a medically-uncompromised adult to hesitate about getting vaccinated and
(2) reopening the economy — at any given point in this pandemic — has always been just as important than following expert (evidence-based) advice about saving everyone’s life and health.
Those who’ve followed my posts since late 2004 know that I sometimes republish contrary views (not always to mock them) and qualifying facts or assessments. But that (coming both from my own personality and from my light experience in journalism) is a stab at keeping perspective, even when my own views differ rather strongly.
That’s different from your endless drumbeat (please excuse cliché) of selective posts, all directed towards one particular point of view.
(Of course it’s your blog, and you have the moral as well as legal right to post what you wish. But, so long as you let us, that won’t stop us from sounding our own objections.)
I’m afraid this will be far too complex to travel clearly from your handheld to your brain, and as usual the replies that are sure to come will miss the mark entirely.
¶ And at long, long last, when do you plan to get your shots?

I just put out what I see DSD…..
There isn’t enough space to put EVERYTHING here…..
And I just seek to point things out which I have done here for over a decade….
My ‘reporting’ does NOT make everyone happy all the time….
That comes with the territory….
Of course no one complains when they agree with what I report, eh?
My Name Is Jack says
Oh DSD has you nailed.
You “report” nothing.
You are essentially a coward who thinks he’s clever.Unfortunately for you,you are as transparent as a clear window.
I won’t belabor the point however.
DSDs post summarizes I imagine the general feelings toward you of all who post here.

That’s an odd statement.
Most of your posts are accompanied by an editorial comment.Of course one responding might indicate his agreement or disagreement with your “ spin” on said post.
Indeed, in most cases ,your comment is worded in such a way as to challenge any who disagree with you to come back at you.
If that upsets you,I would suggest that you cease the editorial comments. It probably wouldnt matter though .All of us here are fairly highly opinionated ,so your views would come out in any comments you made and the discussion would ensue.
Like I say, rather an odd comment.

How Israel Got Skeptics Vaccinated
NPR: “As Israel raced forward this winter and spring with its world-leading COVID-19 vaccination campaign, it waged an aggressive and largely successful campaign to confront false rumors and hesitancy about the COVID-19 vaccine among devout ultra-Orthodox and Hasidic Jewish communities, among the hardest hit by the virus in Israel.”
“Today, more than half of all Israelis have been vaccinated — including 80% of ultra-Orthodox adults over age 30, the health ministry says.”
