I KNOW a LOT of people do NOT believe this….
But I have been saying since Trump lost in November that his support would begin to drop….
It is….
Not so much among Republicans where his support is also dropping….
(Can somebody find a poll that gives Trump’s approval among Republicans?…This NBC Poll has supporters more for Trump than the GOP….But the numbers are 50% to 44%….)
But more so in overall polling….
The new NBC News Poll points to my view….
Out of office, off of Twitter, still complaining about the election results — the last 100 days or so haven’t been kind to Donald Trump, our new national NBC News poll finds.
His ratings among all adults stands at 32 percent favorable, 55 percent unfavorable, which is down from his rating in January (40 percent favorable, 53 percent unfavorable among registered voters), as well as where he was in the poll right before the election (43 percent favorable, 52 percent unfavorable among registered voters).
By comparison, President Biden’s current favorable/unfavorable stands at 50 percent positive, 36 percent negative.
Even Trump’s pull within his own party appears to have lessened, with 44 percent of Republicans saying they’re more supporters of Trump than the GOP, versus 50 percent who say they’re more supporters of the GOP than the former president.
It’s the first time since July 2019 when party supporters have outnumbered Trump supporters in our poll, and it’s also the first time that party supporters have reached 50 percent on this question.
Strikingly, these numbers are coming as the perception of Trump’s pull within his party couldn’t be stronger….

The wording of that poll was quite confusing it asked Republicans …
Are you more a supporter of Trump or the Republican Party? It was split. So ,in other words, almost half the Republican Party is more supportive of a single individual than the party they claim to be a member of?
Why not ask some very simple questions,As a Republican would you be inclined to support a candidate endorsed by Donald Trump or not?
And of course, If Donald Trump seeks the Republican nomination in 2024 would you support his nomination?
Indeed the question asked here is almost meaningless. There are likely a substantial number of Republicans who are loyal to their party above all else.Does that necessarily mean they “oppose” Trump?Of course not.Actually they could be fervent supporters still.
Your obsessive desire to pronounce Trumps political demise is well known .You might better wait not only on a less ambiguous poll than this one but watch what Republican politicians are doing. They have their hands on the pulse of the Republican Party much better than a question like the above and we know where they are ,dont we?
Overwhelmingly,Trump ,all the way.
Anyway what does Thomas Williams,”human being,” have to say about all this?
jamesb says
He, he, he….
I kinda figured you might say this….
U are right that I can’t find your 70%-90% mention anywhere in this….
Noi obsession Jack….
Just keeping it REAL….
Even this new poll points to slippage….
Your NOT gonna admit THAT…
It’s ok…
But Reality IS Reality….

Yes we don’t all possess your “reality.”
You know “alternate Universe “ and all that.

Indeed, I know of no site of any note where relentlessly ,day after day ,with almost no evidence whatsoever ,there is this insistence that Trumps sway over the Republican Party is lessening.
Even the few nationally known Republicans who actively (or passively for that matter ) oppose him don’t claim that (Mitt Romney has even gone so far as to concede that Trump can be the nominee in 2024 if he wants to be).
Yet day after day here you troll the internet desperately seeking any tidbit that you then twist to try to present as “proof” that Trumps hold on the Republican Party is declining.
Simply creating your own reality?Yeah I call that obsession.
The again, maybe Thomas Williams,”human being” has some deeper thoughts on the matter?
jamesb says
You just can’t read the linked pieces Jack?
As i said
U just can’t accept it
No problem
Different strokes for different folks
My Name Is Jack says
Yes I read it.
Once again ,
So?
I fully explained my position. You can’t contradict anything I’ve said so you just resort to your new phrase of the day…
I just won’t “accept it.” What happened to its “complex.?”
You can’t explain anything .As I said, all you do is troll the internet trying to find any little tidbit and then twist it to conform to your view.
Everyone here as seen this act before and we will again..
It’s just who you are.

Do NOT READ this Jack!
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) will vote with Democrats to reverse a Trump administration rule limiting regulation of methane from the oil and gas sector, joining at least one other Republican in doing so.
“I think it’s just unnecessary emissions that they can do something about, and they’ll need to do it,” Graham told reporters, noting that in 2017 he voted against a GOP attempt to nix Obama-era methane regulations.
On Wednesday, senators are expected to vote to undo a Trump-era rule that rescinded methane emission limits and made it harder to regulate methane, a powerful greenhouse gas, from the oil and gas sector….
The Hill….
It’s gonna happen more and MORE!
My Name Is Jack says
Comical..
You are so desperate you are now making a big deal anytime a Republican Senator votes with the Democrats?
How about when Joe Manchin votes with the Republicans? Is he now a Trumpite?
YeahJames this surely indicates that Lindsay is “turning on Trump.”
Youre no longer even rational on this subject.
jamesb says
Manchin has stuck with Democrats fir now Jack
He DID say he’d vote for Murkowski if he could
jamesb says
That’s ur words Jack…..
I pointed out that Ur states’ Senator ALWAYS

People ain’t just one thing….

When some Republicans fall in love, other Republicans must fall in line.
Latest shameful, craven, cringing example below.
The old saw was that Democrats fell in love (e.g. with JFK, Carter or Obama), while Republicans fell in line (e.g. with Ford, Dole or Romney).
Then Someone came along with whom the Republican base adored, but the GOP establishment disdained or loathed, but also feared, while Democrats (the most enthusiastic of whom had supported Bernie Sanders) fell in line with Hillary or Joe.
Now, Chris Christie (see below) has joined that shameful crew of wannabes who try simultaneously live in utter dread of angering the party’s once and current Leader — and thus his base — and pathetically try to establish themselves as plausible candidates for the Leader’s old job (while doing what little they can to avoid alienating independents, Never-Trump Republicans or the news media).
Without getting into Marxist determinism, Republicans of nearly all stripes DO like Trump’s “achievements” with the judiciary, taxes, the upward distribution of wealth and deregulation (despoliation). Those who are isolationists, xenophobes, racists and science-deniers love that part of the Trump legacy; but those who don’t will guiltily swallow their principles because they can’t honestly (like Chris Christie below) risk losing the essential economic and legal issues to Democrats, even to the mildest reformism or restorationism of Joe Biden.
So the Republicans who didn’t fall in love (or who fell out of love), now fall in line hard to do when your forehead is buried in the dust before True Greatness).
Chris Christie Gives One-Term, Twice-Impeached Trump An ‘A’ For His Presidency

Chris Christie is back on the Trump train.
The former GOP New Jersey governor was not shy in railing against longtime friend Donald Trump’s refusal to accept the 2020 election result and his incitement of the deadly U.S. Capitol riot, for which he was impeached for a second time.
But on Friday, Christie was asked by Fox News personality Sean Hannity how he graded Trump’s presidency.
Christie gave top marks to the former reality TV personality, whose offensive rhetoric he has defended for years.
“Oh, listen, overall I give the president an A,” Christie responded.
“The fact of the matter is that there were some things that happened specifically at the end of the presidency that I think had some things that clouded his accomplishments, and that’s why we as a party need to emphasize the issues you just talked about,” the New Jersey Republican added.
Christie, who ran against Trump in the 2016 Republican primaries, also refused to rule out another run of his own in 2024.
Since losing the election, Trump has repeatedly hinted that he will run again.
Asked if he’d challenge Trump in a primary, Christie said he “would not make my decision based on anyone else who’s running.”

Chris Christie has about as much chance as being the Republican nominee in 2024 as Joe Manchin does of being the Democratic candidate.
Christie’s elected political career is long over and no amount of Trump fawning will revive it.
