The Donald Trump slide is going slowly…..
But IS happening….
This in twitter….
New poll from @CBSNews @FaceTheNation (@YouGov) shows 70% of Republicans still believe Trump’s Big Lie that Biden is not the legitimate winner of the White House. It still shocks & disgusts me that millions of Americans would embrace such a dangerous untruth.
Larry, do you think they believe it, or are they simply showing support for their tribe? And what are the implications if it’s the latter?
It’s a combination. Not sure how to divide it up–and many Rs fall into both categories. The real danger is that belief in this complete lie justifies any action–even violence–to remove a supposedly illegitimate regime. For this, history must never forgive Trump & his enablers.
The acceptable news is the number of believers continues to drop. Next year or 35 to 50 percent believers. The the question is do they vote against for being conned or just stay home in disgust…..

Well I mean if Thomas Williams says it?
Then it’s got to be true!
Who is Thomas Williams,James?
Democratic Socialist Dave says
Thomas Williams has 80 followers on Twitter.
Before his de-Twittering, Donald Trump had millions.

Well just when you think the silliness here can’t get any worse?
Some guy on twitter is now being cited as a “ source” for “proving” that Trumps support among Republicans is falling.
What next?
As to the 70%? That’s about where it was at shortly after the election in November and that doesn’t count the “ don’t know” or “ no opinion.” The reality is that Trumps support among Republicans is holding remarkably well almost half a year after his defeat and those who predicted a quick collapse of that support have been proven wrong and are now reduced to citing a one, Thomas Williams ,whose profession is “ human being” as “ evidence” of this mythical decline in support.
Pitiful.

Meanwhile , the well known intellectually challenged House Republican Leader ,Kevin McCarthy,is being justifiably mocked for an interview with Chris Wallace yesterday.
When Wallace questioned him about the Capitol insurrection ,McCarthy claimed that Trump didn’t know what was going on until he called him, then claimed that he talked Trump into going on tv to call his mob of.You might remember that Trumps effort was half hearted and included the continued lie that the election was stolen..
McCarthy supposedly told some other Congress people that when he got through to Trump,he made a snarky remark to the effect that his goons knew more of the truth that McCarthy did.
Under Wallace’s questioning ,McCarthy refused to confirm or deny the remark..
KM is well known for dissembling Some might remember when the so called Benghazi “hearing” was going on,McCarthy blurted out that the hearing was going to “get” Hillary Clinton or words to that effect. At that point some thought McCarthy was on the fast track to the Speakership. After that faux pas he was quickly shunted aside in favor of Paul Ryan.

Trump continues to conduct a vendetta against those who refused to participate in his election theft.
Arizona Gov.Doug Ducey is the latest object of his scorn.
Ducey ,who is participating in a so called “audit” in an attempt to placate the would be thieves, still faces Trumps wrath.Indeed, Trump is supposedly telling supporters that if Ducey becomes the Republican Senate candidate against freshman Democrat Mark Kelly ,he will support Kelly.
Democratic Socialist Dave says
Should Donald Trump be moved — out of sheer spitefulness and vanity — to endorse Mark Kelly’s re-election, the morally-right thing, although irresponsibly impractical, would be to repudiate the hatemonger’s endorsement in the spirit of the 1964 Democratic National Convention’s pledge against extremism (aimed at a Barry GOP that wouldn’t do the same):
“We must expose, wherever it exists, the advocacy of hatred which creates the clear and present danger of violence.
“We condemn extremism, whether from the Right or Left, including the extreme tactics of such organizations as the Communist Party, the Ku Klux Klan and the John Birch Society.
“We know what violence and hate can do. We have seen the tragic consequences of misguided zeal and twisted logic.”
