This the latest of my many posts here that point to DeSantis leading the early race for the Republican Presidential nomination in 2024 NOT Donald Trump….
DeSantis IS running….
He IS popular among Republicans….
He is NOT in his 70’s….(He’s 42)
He is NOT the subject of a LOT of legal investigations…
He does NOT owe people hundreds of millions of dollars…
He gets long with Trump, who lives in HIS state…
He’s up for re-election as Governor before 2024…
DeSantis is a Republican future…
Trump is slowly sliding into its past…
One evening in February, Ron DeSantis quietly slipped into the luxurious Charleston Place Hotel in South Carolina.
Over dinner, the Florida governor addressed an audience of deep-pocketed donors convened by the influential Bradley Foundation, an organization that funnels cash to right-leaning nonprofit groups. DeSantis, whose attendance has not been previously reported, held forth for nearly an hour, detailing the anti-lockdown approach to the coronavirus pandemic that’s turned him into a conservative hero and propelled him to the upper echelon of potential 2024 GOP hopefuls.
Art Pope, a longtime conservative benefactor who chairs the foundation, said his early favorite was former Vice President Mike Pence, who also addressed the conference. But he added that DeSantis had done an “excellent job” as governor and had been well-received by attendees.
“He’s in the top tier, should he choose to run for president,” Pope said.
As the Republican Party charts its path forward, national donor interest in DeSantis is skyrocketing. Major givers across the country are lining up to support the governor’s 2022 reelection effort, with some committing to hosting fundraising events and others plowing funds into his campaign bank account. In the past two-plus months alone, DeSantis has received six-figure contributions from Republican megadonors including Bernie Marcus, Paul Tudor Jones and Steven Witkoff, who in March held a high-dollar fundraiser at his lavish Miami Beach home.
The surge of attention illustrates how the GOP donor class is beginning to look beyond former President Donald Trump. While the former president would almost certainly lock down vast donor support should he wage a 2024 comeback bid, the lack of clarity about his plans has opened the door for other would-be candidates to get a look. Nearly two dozen top Republican Party contributors and fundraisers said in interviews that the focus was increasingly centered on DeSantis….

There is no evidence whatsoever That Trump is “sliding into its past,“your misreports on the subject notwithstanding.
However I did enjoy your adulation over this MAGA red hat wearing bootlicker.
It’s always good to see your inner Republican self rise to the top.

This is for EVERYONE except Jack who simply cannot his head around it…..
Money Flows for Republicans Who Defied Trump
“Former President Donald Trump has vowed to drive the 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach him out of office, but GOP donors, political action committees and even some Democrats poured money into those candidates’ coffers in the wake of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot,” Bloomberg reports.
“Collectively, the 10 members raised $6.4 million, with seven setting personal records for first-quarter fundraising in a non-election year. All outraised the challengers who filed campaign finance reports.”

And what does this have to do with anything?
So some people are contributing to 10 Congresspeople who voted to impeach Trump?
Trump is still the dominant force in the Republican Party as everybody knows.
However it’s all very “complex.”

And no sooner does James tell all of you ,except me, who can’t get my”head around”his obsession that Donald Trump is fading away ,that The Financial Times reports that “Republicans loyal to Trump raised record sums in money in the first three months of the year…”
FT goes on to say,”The figures underscore the enduring enthusiasm of Trumps supporter base and the Republican grassroots..”
Of course the mere raising of sums of money ,while important, in and of itself is not necessarily predictive of electoral success,as anyone who understands politics would readily concur with.
James needs to “get his head around” this fact.

Pro virus Republicans jerk off to DeSantis refusal to do anything to stymie COVID.
That he and his wealthy buddies like former IL Gov Bruce Rauner jumped to the front of the vaccination line is ignored.
jamesb says
DeSantis IS getting points though on the stance….
And?
Governor’s around the country ARE tripping over themselves to reopen their states….
Simply?
DeSantis IS getting looked at by donors and GOPer movers and shakers….
And of course the media…
There ARE many alternatives to Trump a loser ex-President with good Republican numbers but lousy national numbers and problems looming on the horizon

When tens or hundreds of thousands die in a fourth or fifth wave originating in those self-Liberating states, how grateful should we all be ?
As Jack asked, have you got any vaccinations yourself, yet ?
You can hardly claim that downstate New York already has herd immunity nor deny that you no longer have a responsibility to protect yourself but (equally or perhaps more importantly) other New Yorkers.
jamesb says
Yes there will be more infections….
More hospitalization’s
More deaths
But i mearly point out that the virus rollout , like EVERYTHING else has its issues….
The number of people getting shots in New York IS. In the thousands per day as more vaccines become available….
And the number of infections , which i check daily have dropped, as have hospital stays and deaths….
Bit also i see people going out to eat, shop and travel…
I wear my mast always….
But i also have to deal with stare diwns from those who not….
The fact IS around my way a fatigue HAS settled in…
We ARE gonna have to live thru that no matter how assine it may seem
jamesb says
First J & J….
Now Moderna
Moderna says it won’t be able to supply as many doses of its Covid-19 vaccine to Canada, the U.K. and other countries due to manufacturing issues with its non-U.S. supply chain
WSJ…

Everything in life has “issues” James.
What’s your point?
The problem in this country has nothing to do with the vaccine rollout or the profits of the vaccine makers.
No the problem in this country is the fact that many people are refusing to be vaccinated. Are you one of them?
jamesb says
That IS true Jack….
Not everybody will wear masks, get shots or care….
Democratic Socialist Dave says
Misplaced double negative:
You can hardly claim that downstate New York already has herd immunity nor
denyclaim that you no longer have a responsibility to protect yourself and (equally or perhaps more importantly) other New Yorkers.jamesb says
Downstate NY does NOT have herd immunity….
The number of daily cases are above 1,000…
The 5 boro’s have 8Million+ in population…
People have sneak mass parties that get busted…
My POINT is across the country people ARE trying to resume pre-virus life…
I simply state a fact….
