Every morning as I read in I see new legislation being created and talked about in the House….
Of course the Democrats have the majority in the US House of Representatives …
But that majority is only by 10 members…
As they have for the last two years?
The House, led by Speaker Pelosi has made up bill’s for a LOT of things…..
Most of those bill will never see the light of day….
The Democrats have a majority in the US Senate….
Led by Majority leader Schumer that majority is a faction of the rule that a tied party situation in that legislative gets a winner with the vote of the Vice President , Democrat, Kamala Harris….
Added to all of this tightrope act is the Democratic Senator from West Virginia , Manchin….
His state really isn’t a Democratic state….
It votes Republican except for him….
So?
The senator tends to lean to the right with the Republicans….
It’s not just him…
Democratic senator’s in ‘swing’ states do not see the political world in the same way Democrats do in safe Democratic districts and states…
So?
We ARE going to keep on seeing things come out of the House that will grab headlines as ‘progressive’ and for ‘the people’….but will never get anywhere in the Senate….
The $15 a hour min wage is the first one so far….
Immigration will be another….
President Biden WILL get his stimulus bill passed….
But the Republicans in the Senate will try to cut it down…
With all this?
Democrats with memories in the Congress will mindful of the beatdown they got in the 2010 midterms when President Obama and Vice President Biden enjoyed their win 2 years before and saw the majorities in Congress vanish in both the House and Senate…
Joe Biden IS well aware of this…
He was a Senator for a long time before he moved to the executive branch of government….
It takes two to tango in the Congress…
That IS the way the guys who put the place together wanted to be….

House Democrats Ready Ambitious Agenda
“House Democrats are pursuing an ambitious agenda to approve several progressive bills supported by President Biden in the coming weeks, but these measures face an uncertain future in the evenly divided Senate, where most legislation will require support from Republicans to advance,” CBS News reports.
“Several of these measures have previously passed in the House but stalled in the Senate, as then-Majority Leader Mitch McConnell refused to bring them to the floor for consideration. Speaker Nancy Pelosi had referred to McConnell as the ‘grim reaper,’ overseeing the ‘legislative graveyard’ of the Senate. However, even with Democrats now nominally in control of the Senate, many of these bills still face an uncertain future.”

Republicans Threaten to Block Spending Bills
Punchbowl News: “Some Senate Republicans are warning that Democrats’ efforts to push the huge Covid package on a party line vote could ‘blow up the budget process’ and prevent a deal on next year’s appropriations bills.”
Said one GOP aide: “We could see stop-gap spending bills forever — maybe for Biden’s entire presidency.”
