Prime Example….
Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-WI), arguing against an expansion of the earned income tax credit in the relief bill, via CBS Milwaukee: “I know the strength that Black Lives Matter had in this last election. I know it’s a group that doesn’t like the old-fashioned family. Disturbed that we have another program here in which we’re increasing the marriage penalty.”
That brought an angry reaction from Delegate Stacey Plaskett (D-VI): “We have been able to keep our families alive for over 400 years. How dare you say that we are not interested in families in the Black community? That is outrageous. That should be stricken down.”
(I saw Del Plaskett’s come back on this and she was upset and very angry in calling Grothman out…)

Wisconsin has a lot of cheese so no wonder you find a few crackers there too.

If all you go by are web pages as you see them or as others interpret them for you, I can see a small germ that might have generated Rep. Grothman’s comment.
If you visit the website called Black Lives Matter, its manifesto is heavily laced with calls for better treatment of transgender and transgressive people.
The website that seems to reflect the Black Lives Matter movement better is one called Movement for Black Lives.

Of course, this is kind of beside the point, because
(1) like the Tea Party — and to a lesser extent Occupy Wall Street — Black Lives Matter is a general movement of individuals rather than the collective army behind one specific program or organization;
(2) while emphases will differ (and many Black and Latino Christian and Muslim conservatives would strongly disagree), LGBTQ rights still matter, especially given the horrific violence that Trans people of color face:
(3) even if you don’t agree, there’s no justification for Rep. Grothman equating the rights of everyone with some kind of attack on traditional heterosexual family structures.
¶ But I’m very old-fashioned: I can’t see how Black Lives Matter (which very few will deny) precludes me from saying (even with less force or urgency) that All Lives Matter and Blue Lives Matter.
They don’t cancel each other out.

His comment WAS his bias out loud….
It would appear he takes certain things personal…
The retort back at him certainly was…
Just as there are groups that are religious , nationalistic , organization, etc….
Black Lives Matter exists ….
To slander them as Grothman did is a vast disservice to the group and the man’s office in the Nation’s Congress…
It just goes with the post Trump Presidency times in the House…
Absolutely All Lives Matter….
And so do we have the Right and Freedom to form groups to push for more equality in a country try that seems to think some people should be considered less them them….
