NY-Gov: The New York State Assembly has retained white-shoe law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell to spearhead its Judiciary Committee’s impeachment investigation of Governor Andrew Cuomo (D). Some critics have criticized the hire due to the law firm’s ties to Cuomo allies and view the hire as a stalling tactic. Cuomo accuser Lindsey Boylan has refused to cooperate with the Assembly probe. Heastie said he has “no idea” how long the probe will take. Meanwhile, the Cuomo administration has begun its own “review”of the allegation that Andrew Cuomo groped a former aide at the executive mansion….

The president said on Tuesday that he would wait for the investigation into allegations against the governor to be complete before weighing in on Cuomo’s future. Women’s groups were quick on Wednesday to note that the allegations against Biden and Cuomo are different. Cuomo faces multiple similar accusations of misconduct that are alleged to have occurred during his current job. Neither were true in Biden’s case, they say….

The number of voters who think New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo should remain in office has dipped in recent days, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released on Thursday afternoon. But an overwhelming majority of respondents think that he should not leave office immediately.
A total of 43 percent of respondents said that Cuomo “should resign,” while 49 percent said he shouldn’t. Support remained fairly high among Democrats: 23 percent said he should resign while 67 percent said he should not.
And 36 percent of respondents said he should be impeached, while 54 percent were not supportive of that idea.
Many of those who believe Cuomo should leave office, however, seem to agree with his argument that it’s not yet time to have those discussions….

A former lobbyist has accused Rep. Tom Reed (R-N.Y.) of sexually harassing her in 2017, The Washington Post reported Friday.
Nicolette Davis, now an Army second lieutenant, told the Post that Reed drunkenly rubbed her back and thigh and unhooked her bra at an Irish pub in Minnesota after a day of ice fishing while she was working as a junior insurance company lobbyist.
The allegations come as Reed, a co-chair of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus, is considering a run against New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D), who is facing calls to resign from both parties after multiple women accused him of sexual harassment….
