That’s strange?
Former President Trump says President Biden is doing a lousy job since he moved into the White House Trump got kicked out of?
And?
Biden is pulling up approval for the Democratic Party in general to 55%….
He’s actually helping ‘his’ party, not tearing it up like Trump, eh?
President Biden is starting his tenure in White House with the approval of 61 percent of voters, according to a new Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll survey released exclusively to The Hill on Monday.
Biden’s initial approval numbers are markedly higher than those of former President Trump when he first took office. The first Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll survey of Trump’s presidency, conducted in February 2017, showed his approval rating at 48 percent.
Only about 39 percent of respondents said they disapprove of the job Biden is doing in the White House, according to the poll.
There’s a relatively wide partisan divide in early perceptions of Biden’s presidency, with an overwhelming majority of Democrats approving of his job performance and most Republicans disapproving. Still, nearly one-third of GOP voters — 31 percent — said they approve of Biden’s handling of his job.
Biden’s approval rating is accompanied by a rise in approval for his party as a whole. Overall, 55 percent of respondents said they approve of the Democratic Party, marking a 7-point increase since January, when slightly less than half of those surveyed gave the party a positive review.
Approval of the GOP, meanwhile, is trailing that of the Democrats, coming in at 44 percent, according to the survey.
“Unlike Trump, president Biden is having a honeymoon along with the Democrats,” Mark Penn, the director of the Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll survey, said…..

Scott P says
Just wait till the $1400 checks are sent that 0 Republicans supported.
60% might look low.
Democratic Socialist Dave says
But, Scott, would those cheques be valid if they bore the name of the illegitimate usurper and his pretended Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen instead of those of the Rightful, Lawful President and Steve Mnuchin? 😉
CG says
Either way, they were engraved by Jewish Space Lasers.
Scott P says
It’ll be interesting to see how many Republicans take that”socialist” money.
CG says
How will you determine that?
Scott P says
Question was rhetorical. Every single damn Republican who bitches and moans about socialism will take that money.
Nothing to “determine”
CG says
The original stimulus was Romney’s idea and I definitely supported it.
I think the question now may relate to the size and scope and the lack of targeting. I think these funds should perhaps be better targeted towards those who have directly been financially impacted by Covid.
Republican opposition in Congress appears related to other aspects of the bills that Democrats have put together which seem to have little to do with Covid and more of what has been a long-term wish list and contains items that should be debated and voted on separately.
I have already gotten two stimulus checks and I think there are people who deserve the money more than me at this point. If I do get a $1400 check, assuming I am still employed, I think I will donate at least $1000 of it to a Covid-related charity.
Scott P says
How would the funds be more targeted?
Should the $$ only go to those who can prove their income declined due to COVID?
I would be fine with getting the 1400 out now and having another bill that is targeted for those who were hurt the most. Especially since minimum wage won’t like it be raised. We should pay for it by rescinding all Trump Republican tax cuts for those making over $400k a year.
CG says
You would be for rescinding tax cuts no matter what the external situation.
I think there would be someway to target those who are unemployed or had businesses fail etc, through no fault of their own, because of Covid.
Scott P says
Repealing the Trumpublican tax cuts for those who make over 400k a year? Of course I would!
That’s when we know Truno was a “real Republican”. When he went back on his 2016 pledge to raise taxes on the wealthiest Americans. Once he made clear he had no intention of that and would instead lower taxes for the wealthiest it was over. Marriage bells for Trump and the GOP!
CG says
But you yourself think he was right on the $2000 checks for everyone.
I may not hear marriage bells but….
Scott P says
Yeah I was for the $2000.
But it’s expected as Im a damn librul. But at least I want to sort of pay for them with higher taxes on the wealthy. Something I suppose you still oppose like Trump Republicans would.
CG says
Trump has his liberal side too clearly.
jamesb says
Trump has a ‘liberal’ side????
Holly Shit!?
Did i just see THAT?
Does liberal = Democrat????
WHAT🙄😆
My Name Is Jack says
And since most Republicans support him,I presume they all have liberal sides too!
Who knew ???
Hahaha!
CG says
They are willing to look the other way or have been seduced by the Dark Side of the Force.
My Name Is Jack says
Nah they’re just responding to their inner Socialist hearts.
They’ve got no problem with “Socialism” as long as it’s putting money in their pockets.
It’s only when it goes to “other people” that they have a problem with it.
My Name Is Jack says
The best news today is that President Biden has announced that the United States will have enough vaccine to vaccinate almost all Americans by the end of May.
That’s two months prior than previously thought!
Democratic Socialist Dave says
You might even call that warp speed !
CG says
There are still issues with distribution and how to schedule appointments, etc. It’s been a nightmare for a lot of people. Hopefully this will work out better for everyone as supply increases. I am still anticipating a lot of angst trying to get an appointment for myself which I of course have not started yet.
My Name Is Jack says
Well of course “ everybody” won’t.
About half of Republicans say they aren’t going to get one.
However, the vast majority of people who want it will be able to get it.
jamesb says
I doubt very much that ‘everybody’ will have access to virus shots….
But props to Biden for the push….
Will next year have ‘booster’ shot push?
Virus cases post tonight…
They ARE still declining
Knucklehead DeSantis has rescinded the mandator mask wearing down there…
Waiting to see if the COAC get together was a super spreader event ….
Democratic Socialist Dave says
The governors of Texas (nearly 30 million people) and Mississippi (nearly 3 million) have rescinded their mask mandates and all other Covid restrictions on business and daily life.
Together that’s about 10% of the entire country’s population of roughly 330 million.
So if (more likely when) disaster strikes them again, the effect on everyone else would be catastrophically greater than Kristi Noem’s policies in South Dakota (nearly 900,000), even with the wide-open motorcycle convention in Sturgis last year.
Texas governors’ terms (I learn) are not limited, but Greg Abbott might find it hard to run next year with a terrible record of protecting Texans from electrical blackout, drinking-water drought and an unopposed resurgence or expansion of the pandemic (with its variant strains).
jamesb says
And he might do ok….
The place rewards the crazy Republican shit over and OVER!
jamesb says
BTW CG?
Republicans may have a chance to make me wrong on the color angle….
Tanden’s Second in command maybe elevated to head the OMB….
She’s a Black female….
CG says
I already told you that (you really do not read others posts) and you have always been wrong on the idea that opposition to Tanden was based on color
jamesb says
Opposition to Tanden and Haaland certainly’appears’ to be partly based on ‘color’ and being Democrats….
Is that better CG?
Zreebs says
I agree with CG that the opposition to Haaland and Tanden does NOT appear to be race-related.
Racism is a real issue in USA, but accusing racism when there is very little if any evidence of it only makes it more difficult to fight legitimate racism.
jamesb says
Ok Z…
It’s u guys view….
Me and others disagree….
But hey?
OMB could have a Black woman in charge…
Keith says
How about gender?
CG says
Neera Tanden has been pulled.
Scott P says
Stimulus checks will now be targeted to those making 80k a year or less.
I’ll still get a check. I wonder if CG thinks this is targeted enough.
