One of the guys I work with yesterday walked by me and made this remark….
‘How do you like the rising gas prices with your President Joe Biden?’….
I shrugged and kept walking….
I could have give him this link to a Yahoo piece that gave a whole bunch of reasons….
NONE of them having to do with Democratic President Joe Biden and the environment of even climate change…
One of the regulars here also got connected to a Biden move negatively ….
He was knocked because Biden cancelled the Keystone XL pipeline….
Truth is there is ALREADY a Keystone pipe from Canada operating…
And…
Up in Canada?
There are also people that are happy Biden did what he did…
There is another issue that President Biden IS going to have to face concerning energy sources for this country and Biden is gonna have to make some hard political choices….
We ALL KNOW about West Virginia Democratic Senator Joe Manchin…
He’s a critical vote for Democrat ‘s in a tied US Senate…
Manchin’s state digs coal out of the ground that goes to places in America and is exported to other countries…
People talking about shutting down coal production puts him on the defensive and THAT, along with the states mostly right leaning voters IS an issue for Biden….
Alaska Republican US Senator Murkoski is known as a somewhat maverick…
She and senator’s Romney and Collins do sometimes say they’s break with their party win. specific issues…
But?
Alaska , like West Virginia derives it’s states wealth from fossil fuels….
A LOT of oil sits below the ground in the most Northern American state…
Yesterday the Biden admin pick for OMB dropped out…
Her only lifeline was Murkowski , the Republican senator…
The senator from Alaska reported that she had had to give Neera Tanden a hour lecture on his Alaska NEEDED to use it’s resources that the Biden admin probably didn’t want to access to make environmentalists happy…
Tandem dropped out of the OMB job effort…
The President IS doing the right thing by working to make the American and world a better place to live in…
But ?
People are about right now….
Most not about tomorrow or next week…
Gas prices ARE going up….
Weather and other factors having little to do with Biden are causing this…
But?
Politics IS about perceptions also…
And Joe Biden & Company will have to figure out how to hold political power today and for the next few years and NOT be hurt by the perception that a safe American environment will cost people MORE Money they need and want to spend elsewhere …
Republicans will be ALL to happy to use a cleaner American against Biden for their own political gain today….

Gas prices are the dumbest metric by which to rate a President.
Well second dumbest to yesterdays FOX News freak out over 5 of the most forgotten Dr. Suess books
Scott P says
5 of the most forgotten Dr. Suess books being “canceled” i e taken out of publication (which happens all the time to books that sell poorly)
Which according to right so g blowhards was all Biden’s fault.

Race and evil tones my wife says was mentioned around her school people..
jamesb says
Agreed Scott
But it is no coincidence that i hear a Republican mention this and so dies CG at the Hedge….
CG says
You are making less sense than usual.
I jumped into the HHR cesspool for a couple hours last night, for the first time in months. Dr. Suess was not discussed.
My Name Is Jack says
Don’t blame this on CG.
Gas prices have driven you crazy for years. You even used to give us daily updates ton how much you were paying for gas.
As anyone with the least bit of sense knows, gas prices fluctuate due to all sorts of things, even the weather.
But since you brought it up?Tell is exactly what Biden should do?
CG says
I have not mentioned anything on this or any other blog about gas prices.
I barely even have to buy gas anymore.
jamesb says
Hey Jack?
There U go again…..
YOU ARE saying i’m hanging this on CG which i am NOT DOING…
The issue is fir Biden to deal with and it IS going to be complicated…
jamesb says
And Jack?
Ask around for how many people ‘like’ HIGHER gas prices?
Honestly Jack
Sometimes 🙄?
My Name Is Jack says
Gee and all this time I thought they liked them!
Drop the goofy histrioniics.
All you’ve got to say is it’s “complicated?”
Wow there’s some real “analysis!”

Oil and Politics…
AK-Sen: Murkowski (R) has apparently sunk a Biden deputy secretary nomination to the Department of the Interior, likely over her public opposition to oil drilling. This further highlights the oddity of Murkowski supporting Deb Haaland’s nomination as Secretary of the Interior, and implies that Murkowski elicited some kind of promise from Haaland on oil drilling in exchange for the vote. This could be important, as the Progressive Base wants Biden to at the very least crack down hard on domestic oil production, so we will have to see how the chips fall—Murkowski being able to claim credit for protecting Alaska’s Oil income would be a powerful asset to her re-election campaign next year….
