The New York Governor has gone silent….
But the things are still running….
Cuomo has no intention of stepping down….
There are now 3 women making complaints against the governor…
The NY Attorney General has been asked to name someone to investigate the allegations ….
Interestingly?
The statue that gives AG James the investigation power Laos requires her to make weekly reports TO THE Governor….
Few Democratic establishment members have called for Cuomo to step down despite the media attention ….(This IS a New York political story in the end)
Remember….
Cuomo coming out of this in office will a worry for ALL those who came out against him (A la’ Trump?)
In a statement Sunday, Cuomo said he “never intended to offend anyone or cause any harm” and described his actions as a result of his “playful” nature, but denied inappropriately touching anyone.
New York Attorney General Letitia James is launching an investigation of the claims, which will be led by an outside law firm — a move endorsed by senior congressional leaders.
Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Tuesday called the accusations “serious, very troubling” and said he trusted the New York attorney general to conduct a thorough and apolitical investigation.
“These women have to be listened to,” Schumer told reporters on Capitol Hill. “I always believed that sexual harassment is not acceptable, must not be tolerated.”
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (N.Y.), chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, took a similar stance….
The New York City outgoing Mayor has no sympathy for Cuomo , who he has repeatedly tangled with….
New York Mayor Bill de Blasio is sticking it to Gov. Andrew Cuomo at every opportunity, seizing on the governor’s misfortunes as crises pile up for his fellow Democrat and longtime rival.
De Blasio has called Cuomo’s alleged behavior “grotesque,” “perverse” and “terrifying,” saying Tuesday that he must resign if sexual harassment accusations lodged by multiple women are substantiated.
“If these allegations are true, he cannot govern,” the mayor told reporters.
There’s been no love lost between New York’s two top chief executives for years, with a simmering feud dating back to 2015 as the mayor was fashioning himself as a national progressive leader and the governor was slumping in the polls.
But de Blasio — conscious of the power that Cuomo wields over the city’s affairs and his willingness to use it to punish his foes — has usually been careful to couch his criticisms in a veneer of civility.
Now, with Cuomo looking vulnerable amid dual scandals involving sexual harassment allegations and Covid-19 nursing home deaths, de Blasio is telling the world what he really thinks….

This Andrew Cuomo press conference going on now is both hilarious and cringe-worthy.
Basically, he was raised by his father to hug and kiss everyone,
I am reminded of the line from SNL
“I would never be inappropriate with anyone. Especially a chick with friggin’ dynamite bazoombas.”
And I keep thinking of Gov Cuom0/Dr. Seuss crossovers, but I will leave them unsaid.

Cuomo is also answering every question with thinly veiled attacks on DeBlasio and NYC.
CG says
Female reporters are asking him questions over a phone line and he is asking them what they are wearing….
ok, not really, but you can almost picture it.
CG says
The press conference is over and it sort of felt like a disaster, but unlike Gov. Northam, who survived, he did not almost attempt to Moonwalk. So there’s that.

Add Trump loving Republican (though I repeat myself) Rep. Ronny Jackson to Madison Cawthorn on the list of freshman House GOP members facing sexual misconduct charges. I await to hear how this is “different” than Cuomo as well

It IS MORE common then people think…
But once it hits the media?
It knows no party affiliation…
