…from the Hill….
President Biden announced Monday that 90 percent of U.S. adults will be eligible for the coronavirus vaccine and will have a vaccination site within 5 miles of where they live by April 19, while also warning Americans not to let down their guard amid rising cases of COVID-19.
Biden also announced in a speech Monday afternoon that the number of pharmacies in the federal vaccination program will more than double, from 17,000 to 40,000, by the same date.
He had previously set a goal of all U.S. adults being eligible for the vaccine no later than May 1. As supply ramps up, many states have opened up eligibility to all adults well ahead of that date, something that experts had expected given the increasing number of doses available….
…from The Washington Post
“Please, this is not politics,” Biden said. “Reinstate the mandate if you let it down, and businesses should require masks as well. A failure to take this virus seriously — precisely what got us into this mess in the first place — risks more cases and more deaths.”…

Bidens plea to the states to continue Mitigation efforts is wasted breath.
Zreebs says
It is wasted breath only because Republicans won’t listen to anything a Democrat (in particular, Biden) says. And if a Republican joins Biden in repeating what Biden says, then in most cases he will be considered a RINO in GOP circles, who needs to be replaced.
Even Dr. Fauci is considered too political by Republicans now. Can there be a more trustworthy spokesman than Dr. Fauci. If so, who?
In the meantime at least one of the new variants is killing young people much more than the original variants.

Fauci has been a villain to Republicans almost since the beginning.
Many Republicans are actually “mad” that the virus exists and find solace in taking their anger out on those prominently involved in warning about its danger.
Irrational!Of course(hey these people voted for Trump) .
Fauci is sort of the poster man for their vitriol(see Rand Paul’s goofy tirade against him at the hearings a few weeks ago)
Fauci is now lumped in with “libruls” and the “media” as the:object of Right Wing wrath.
Some heat might leave him shortly though as the kooks have a new target of their wrath,Dr.Birx, who, essentially has blamed Trump for lots of the deaths that occurred on his watch.
I mean you criticize dear leader?Watch out!
If I were Birx I would have a bodyguard,I put nothing past these deranged nuts.Remember Jan.6?

Not to worry,
We are told that Republicans care about gun violence more than Democrats ( they do readily offer their thoughts as and prayers) and they are allegedly taking other actions to reduce gun violence.
Democratic Socialist Dave says
“Reduce violence ! Bring back the death penalty!”
bdog says
Based on the most recent Supreme Court ruling where the FBI agents violated the rights of some muslim Americans the Courts allowed those muslim men to bring civil legal cases against the individual FBI members…by extension couldn’t this be used against Trump especially if people from his own administration are making claims that some deaths could have been mitigated…a large class action suit against the guy? Any thoughts?
jamesb says
Yes…. In theory I would think since President’s CAN be sued civily while in office….
But…’if people from his own administration are making claims’..would probably get him off the hook….
Jack would be better to advise on this…
