While his fellow Texas’s are suffering with cold and no power?
He has flown the coop to Mexico….
A TRUE Trump person….
Screw’m….
I’ve got mine!
Photos circulating on Twitter late Wednesday purport to show Texas Senator Ted Cruz on a flight to Cancun, Mexico, during the state‘s historic disaster.
The images show a man with a striking similarity to Cruz in an airport and on a plane. Cruz’s office didn‘t respond to a request for comment but this story will be updated if they do. Other reporters said they had reached out as well but not heard back.
Some Twitter sleuths claimed they matched a mask, glasses, a ring, tennis shoes and headphones to past social media posts. One photo appears to show Cruz’s wife – who has appeared on national television – at his side.
One sleuth cited clues from a photo that puts Cruz inside the Houston International Airport near the terminal for a United flight to Cancun at 4:10 p.m.
Less than an hour later, UA1020 departed for Cancun and landed at 7:52 p.m., online flight records show…..

james, you are the one who was so insistent that the Senate be allowed to leave town this week because of Valentines Day, etc.

Looking for consistency from James?
As we all know he just bangs away at his keyboard in a steam of consciousness as the mood hits him. What he said before is then inoperative.
Despite that,Bad optics for Cruz ,although as aUS Senator there isn’t much he could do except suffer with everyone else I presume.

CG?
U think THAT is gonna work for Cruz in the media?

Right Wing commentator Dinesh D Souza Has a unique take on Cruz’s vacation in Cancun:
At least he’s not in Texas wasting valuable energy resources.I don’t think his tongue was in his cheek either!
Well yeah there’s that!Haha,

The prick probably had all the lights on in his McMansion while he was gone.

Cruz’s approval rating was already only 45% (against 44% disapproval) so flying to Cancun could really [shudders] land him in hot water.

How did Ted Cruz ever think this would be a good idea? Did he think nobody would notice?

Always liked Doke.
Many found his wit too biting but actually I always thought it was funny as Hell even when directed at people I liked.
Met him once when he was running for President in 1988.Strom Thurmond brought him to the local county courthouse.Just happened to be there and shook his hand
CG says
Hopefully, you shook the right hand.
I did so as well in March of 1996.

Pretty sure I’ve told the story how as 10th graders in 1988 myself and the Danish exchange student went to see Bob Dole when he spoke in my hometown. We both accidentally reached for his right hand. Oops. He took it with stride though and spoke with my classmate (whose name I forget) about how he and Libby traveled to Copenhagen.
My Name Is Jack says
Yeah he had a pencil in his bad hand.
I think he always had it there when meeting people.
CG says
Yeah, he always carries a pen.
It’s something I would often also do when walking around an office

Always enjoyed Doles story of getting involved in politics. He said a bunch of local people in Russell,Kansas came to him about running for County Attorney. He told them he had never been political and if he ran he didn’t even know what party he would run under. They told him the county always voted Republican. So he told them ”well I’m a Republican.”
Isnt all that funny when you read it ,but he had a way of making it humorous because he always told it a little differently.
CG says
His parents and grandparents had been Democrats. It must have been for State Rep though because he served two years in that job before he became County Attorney.
My Name Is Jack says
Might have been I just remember the story and in it he mentioned something about having been county attorney.
CG says
When he was County Attorney, one of the local Republican bigwigs from elsewhere in Kansas was driving around in Russell late on a Saturday night or something and saw one light on in the County building. He was curious to see who would be working so late and it was Dole, and that is how he got recruited to run for Congress in 1960
Scott P says
Reminds me of when former Missouri Senator Jack Danforth talked about how he decided which party to run in for his first political race.
The Republican line was shorter.

Interesting, though hardly critical, biography at

An anecdote I heard once heard or read (although it might vell have been about another politician) was that as a county official, he signed his father’s relief check.

Cruz WAS supposed to come home Saturday but is now on his way back after the abuse he’s taking….
I believe he did say something about Newsom going the same place while that state was locked down…

He, he, he….
THIS is NOT gonna happen…
But the chump deserves every political hit coming his way….
Texas Democrats are calling on Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) to resign or be expelled after pictures surfaced of him traveling to Cancun, Mexico, while millions in his home state are without power or clean water because of a winter storm.
In a statement, Texas Democratic Party Chairman Gilberto Hinojosa called Cruz’s actions “disturbing and disappointing.”
He ripped Cruz for challenging the Electoral College vote ahead of the Capitol riots on Jan. 6, and said Cruz should now resign for “jetting off to Mexico while Texans remain dying in the cold.”

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Friday ripped Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (R) for flying with his family to Cancun, Mexico, as Texas was hit with a devastating winter storm, specifically responding to reports that the senator left his dog behind.
“Don’t vote for anyone you wouldn’t trust with your dog,” Clinton tweeted Friday, without explicitly naming Cruz….
