A Suffolk University-USA Today poll found that 46% of Republicans said they would abandon the GOP and join the Trump party if the former president decided to create one.
Only 27% said they would stay with the GOP, with the remainder indicating they would be undecided….
That’s not going to happen.
Why should it?
Trump totally dominates the Republican Party.If the time comes that he no longer does , then and only then will he go away.
Splitting the Republican Party would do nothing except guarantee total Democratic dominance.
Trump detests being a “loser.”A third party guarantees that he will be.
Donald Trump IS A LOSER….
Tell that to the Republicans.
They’re still all in.
I agree that there is no need for a Trump party when he already controls the GOP.
The bigger question is whether there is a need for an anti-Trump Conservative Party. People like Lisa Murkowski probably won’t do well in a primary against a Trumpist, but she can win in a three-way race. Mitt Romney also would likely win a three-way race too against a Trumpist and a Democrat.
