Fox News has fallen behind CNN and MSNBC in cable ratings as it battles for an audience with other conservative outlets like Newsmax and One America News Network. Trump and other prominent Republicans began hammering Fox after it was the first cable outlet to call Arizona for now-President Biden in November.
While the projection was ultimately correct, Trump promoted Newsmax and OANN as alternatives to Fox over the perceived slight.
Fox is still holds a strong cable presence, and just marked 19 years as the ratings leader….
This was a surprise to me because Lou Dobbs had a strong viewership and I am not aware of any advertiser rebellion against his show. I guess that Fox News felt that the business community was moving away from the show and the trend wouldn’t stop until Dobbs was gone.
I knew that Fox News had lost ratings, but I didn’t know that both CNN and MSNBC passed it.
Dobbs was almost crying on the air when ‘his’ channel went ahead and made the call FOR Biden…
I remember many years ago when Dobbs was on CNN, he referred to himself as “Mr.Indepebdent,” which, of course, was not true..Hes always been a Republican .However, I’ve seen a lot of people who play that “Independent “ game.
In my experience ,most of those type people will vote for a few Democrats ,mainly at the local level ,but almost uniformly will support Republicans for all the higher offices.
Dobbs used to be a sort of low key business reporter who,after switching to Fox ,seemed to become increasingly unhinged and likely ends his career as a blustering bombastic full blown Trump cultist.
