The Senior Republican Senator from South Carolina lost his mind….
He’s after the fact that Vice President Kamala Harris supported an organization that helped post bail for those arrested in Minnesota for their protesting during the George Floyd demo’s…
Some of those people has records….
It was up to officials there on who could actually be allowed bail….Not the Minnesota Freedom Fund, and certainly NOT Harris…
How convient Senator?
Go after the nation’s first mixed race , woman Vice President that happens to be a Democrat?
But vote against convicting the while President that tried to steal an election in broad daylight?
Sen. Lindsey Graham warned that Republicans could move to impeach Vice President Kamala Harris — arguing that former President Donald Trump’s Senate impeachment trial over provoking the Capitol riot “opened Pandora’s Box.”
Speaking on “Fox News Sunday,” a day after the Senate voted 57-43 to acquit the former president on a single charge of “incitement of insurrection,” the South Carolina Republican argued that the vice president’s support for a fund that bailed out protesters over the summer could leave her liable for the same punishment.
“And if you use this model, I don’t know how Kamala Harris doesn’t get impeached if the Republicans take over the House,” Graham said.
“Because she actually bailed out rioters and one of the rioters went back to the streets and broke somebody’s head open. So we’ve opened Pandora’s Box here and I’m sad for the country?”…
…
Graham, who was among the Republicans who voted to acquit, said the former president may have pushed “narratives about the election that I think are not sound and not true,” but he does not believe that Trump’s words incited the mob.
“The president is a handful and what happened [at the Capitol] on 6 January was terrible for the country. But he’s not singularly to blame. Democrats have sat on the sidelines and watched the country being burned down for a year and a half and not said a damn word, and most Republicans are tired of the hypocrisy,” Graham said.
He also said he spoke Saturday night to Trump, who assured him he was looking to return to fighting for Republicans to regain their majorities in the Senate and House….

So what’s the over/under on how many Thai gang bangs Trump has photos of Lindsey partaking in? That’s all I can figure out as to why Graham can’t seem to ever quit defending Trump.
Gotta be something…..
Lindsey usually goes with someone he get something from…
He’s hurting his chances with Biden …
Lindsay Graham is where the Republican Party is at presently.
Despite all the talk here ,and that’s what it is nothing but talk, the Republican Party remains a firmly pro Trump party.
In a poll released today Quinnipiac finds 75% of Republicans want Trump to maintain a major role in the party.
We have seen that the state Republican parties remain firmly pro Trump with Louisiana , North Carolina and Nebraska quickly moving to denounce their Senators who voted to convict him.Maine is now moving to do the same thing to Collins.Without engaging in one of the typically inane back and forths are to its relevance, one thing is abundantly coear, it shows where the party activists ,who usually make up the state party Executive Committees ,stand.
Maybe the Trump luster will fade as time goes on but for right now?
That worthless little piece of garbage ,Lindsay Graham ,is right in the mainstream of the Republican Party in Feb. 2021.
nothing more than a gut feeling, but I also suspect that Trump got some sexual dirt on Lindsay.
To hear political types in SC(mostly Republicans )tell it, theres a lot to go around.
Something tells me it’s just that he’s gay. Which none of us here give a damn about. But Lindsey is probably pretty repressed so that’s why he’s vulnerable to that kind of blackmail.
I couldn’t bear to watch or hear more than a minute of that smarmy, sycophantic, lickspittle toadie on Fox yesterday morning so I switched over to various Democrats talking to Chuck Todd on Meet the Press (NBC).
Graham must have been an insufferable classmate.
Sen Ron Johnson (QRep.- Wisconsin) says Mitch McConnells anti Trump blast Doesn’t represent the feelings of QRepublicans in the Senate.
I’m not sure how Graham thinks that Harris broke the law? It is not as if she called Raffensberger to pressure him to change the vote.
Just Lindsay playing to the Trumpites.
They like stuff like this and Harris ,being a multi racial ,woman makes it even better for them. This will go over big time with S.C. Republicans.
Hey, not only that — the illegitimate VP is from California, and not only that, the Bay Area, and not even that — she grew up and went to school in (get this, dittoheads) BERKELEY !!
That school!???
No, actually, Kamala Harris was a graduate of Berkeley High School, Howard University in Washington and Hastings College of Law (U.C.) in San Francisco.
Ok….
Berkeley gets the reaction
Perhaps it might go over with the Trumpites, but of course South Carolina Republicans as a whole have elected a minority woman as Governor and an African-American to the U.S. Senate.
Graham knows Harris drives the Q-Anon, Newsmax cultists crazy. They believe she will be “installed” as President where she will unleash her “socialism” on the unsuspecting US of A. .
Which is pretty laughable as Kamala is only a couple steps to the left of Biden.
But logic isn’t a strong suit of this crew that still thinks Obama was a secret Kenyan Muslim.
What is left of Q-Anon does not believe Harris is about to become President.
They either believe Trump will be placed back in office in early March or many of them now feel that Joe Biden is on “their side” and was part of the plan all along.
Yes I’m sure that many of these QAnon people(mostly Trump supporters with a significant number of “evangelicals,”see American Enterprise Institute poll from last week) will soon become fervent Biden supporters.
Hell Marjorie Taylor Greene May become a Democrat!
I heard from an expert on conspiracy theory groups that a small number of Q-Anon followers *may* seek to keep their crazy theory alive by saying Biden being inaugurated was part of “the plan” all along.
But I’m talking about the regular old comspiracy theorists who make up a big chunk of the GOP rank and file now. The ones who don’t necessarily believe Tom Hanks is a Satan worshipping pedophile, but still think Trump won the election. Maybe those people are the new “moderate Republicans”.
The term “moderate Republicans” reminds me of the term “moderate Jihadists”. There once was, but there is essentially no longer such thing as a “moderate Republican”.
For the purists who quibble with words, okay, I know there are a few.
It is a gross simplification to say there are NO moderate Republicans
Of course there ARE…
They just are defined by being censured by thir local party while they STILL go to work
yeah – you think Lindsay Graham is a moderate.
I could be wrong…
But?
I’m thinking Graham will soon resort to his old self and try to make friends with the Biden he has BEEN friends with for decades….
Ms. Lindsay is many things, but above all, she’s not to be trusted.
Agreed Keith…..
The Trumpiest Republicans Are at State and Local Levels politicalwire.com/2021/02/16/the… via @politicalwire
The term “moderate” ,as James uses it ,essentially means such a person is anti Trump.
Thus ,the seven Republicans who voted to convict Trump are ipso,”moderates.”
Of course based on their past voting records ,save maybe Collins and Murkowski , they are conservatives.Further, I’m sure they would proudly embrace that moniker.
Indeed ,one of the arguments that we often see repeated here is that Trump is not a “conservative” and that those who oppose him are the “true conservatives.”
S
Donald Trump’s politics is about DONALD TRUMP….
And about 3/4 of Republicans are “about” Donald Trump!
Jack?
Haley ?
I mean how can she play with all this Graham horseshit?
And yea…
I forgot the state has a Black Senator along with Georgia!
Haley and Graham have never been political allies.Graham bashed her for the anti Trump remarks she made last week.
Interesting to see what Tim Scott does .After all,Haley appointed him to the Senate.
… and when did bailing someone out (i.e. giving surety that he or she will appear in court when required) become a High Crime and Misdemeanor ??
Probably at one time or another in our (not-all-that-dramatic) lives, many of use have either contributed to someone else’s bail or else been bailed out by a friend, or both.
Jumping bail, or helping someone else jump bail, or even just discouraging them from reporting, is, however, another matter. I can’t see the former D.A. of the City & County of San Francisco, and the former Attorney-General of California doing any of those things,
I’m sure that in his professional career, Jack must have helped to bail out at least one of his clients, only to find that client later being accused of some other offense.
I wonder if Graham’s “lady G” nickname among Washington’s gay comfort workers has to do with Graham’s “ladybugs”, Graham’s lack of masculinity, or both?
Anyway, in researching that question, I came across a rather fun t shirt for people who have a more advanced sense of humor than me:
https://www.teepublic.com/t-shirt/10260927-ladyg-the-ladybug-queen
It’s kind of sad that Larry Craig’s whole career came to an end because he was open to a hook up in a Minneapolis men’s room.
In 2007 he had that 0ress conference where he denied being gay and then said he was going to resign his Senate seat. In the end he did not resign instead serving out the last year if his Senate term. For him the biggest accusation was that he was gay or at the least bisexual.
I know absolutely nothing of Graham’s personal life but something just tells me he carries around the same guilt over something none of us care about. But if Trump knows Lindsay’s “shame” and holds it over his head that would explain a lot. It would also further cement what a POS Trump is.
Were J. Edgar Hoover still around, this would be exactly the kind of thing that (solely to curry favor against any inquiries into or reforms of his empire) that utterly-hypocritical bastard would feed to a President for further use
¶ The late Bayard Rustin, whom I met personally through the Socialist Party, saw his future career in the peace and civil-rights movements crippled by his arrest in a police entrapment in Southern California in the early 1950’s, He had to resign his job with the Fellowship of Reconciliation and, while he was the indefatigable principal organizer of the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs & Freedom, Rustin’s name was kept out of the limelight and far down (if at all) on the letterhead of civil-rights groups.
(Not only did the civil rights groups need to appeal to the Catholic and evangelical churches, many of its own members and leaders — e.g. in the Southern Christian Leadership Conference — were active members of black churches that utterly condemned homosexuality. Years later, many of those very same ministers who risked everything for racial equality were very active in mobilizing against gay rights. I found it appalling. Even at a 50th anniversary celebration in Providence of the March, we were led in singing the Negro National Anthem — “Lift Ev’ry Heart and Sing” — by an ordained Baptist deacon and State Senator who had stridently opposed removing RI’s laws against homosexuality. It was incongruous because one of the celebration’s themes was legislating Marriage Equality in Rhode Island.)
Many Black religious leaders i am told ARE actually moderate to conservative as Democrats…
It was why i found the idea of Sanders beating Biden in SC kinda nuts….
No one is more pro-Trump than Graham, but James has repeatedly called Graham a moderate. James will consider any Republican a moderate if he votes with the Dems on any issue.
I have called Graham a ‘moderate’
I HAVE referred to the history of working WITH Democrats in past on things such as immigration…
My feeling is that Graham WILL try to go back to that which will probably have me say ‘told ya so ‘ here….
Your “told ya sos” are well known garbage here.
Hell if Graham was to vote to congratulate Biden on his wedding anniversary you would be running around with that silliness.
Nope Jack….
Just if Ole Lindsey starts kissing Biden’s ass which u think can’t happen….anymore?🙄
No it can’t happen. Lindsay has crossed the Rubecan and dug his heels in. He has at best limited credibility now, and has nothing to gain if he flips again. So assume he were to vote with the Democrats on every issue going forward. Still, no Democrat would ever vote for Graham when he come up for re-election. He belongs to Trump now, and that won’t change unless Trump
Totally loses his influence in the GOP. and that is not likely to happen in the short term.
Graham voting record on Biden cabinet picks?
On the budget bill?
See:
https://justfacts.votesmart.org/candidate/key-votes/21992/lindsey-graham
Thanks DSD….
Of 12 votes Fromm Biden being elected?
Graham has votes ‘Aye’ SEVEN times….
This included Democratic Cabinet picks.Amy Barret (twice), and the budget…
So much for the ‘Hard Right BS
I’m sorry, James, but that source proves no such thing; if anything it shows that Sen. Graham voted with his Republican colleagues almost all the time.
With one exception, the nominations passed by no fewer than 78 votes, which is typical for confirmation votes for any Presidential team, D or R. That Graham joined most of his GOP colleagues to confirm shows nothing.
The one exception was Alejandro Mayorkas for Homeland Security , where Graham voted no, together with 42 other Republicans (and no D or Ind), although another 6 Republicans did vote Aye.
Graham did not vote on the Defense authorization, which nevertheless passed 84-13.
Nothing at all unusual about his vote for the Continuing Appropriations bill just before Christmas; it passed 92-6.
The budget bill passed 51-50 on strict party lines with V.P. Harris casting the tying vote.
All 50 Republicans including Graham voted nay.
On impeachment, Graham and 42 other Republicans voted nay while 7 Republicans voted aye with both Independents and all 48 Democrats.
Graham clearly believes that it’s far more dangerous for the GOP to split with Trump, or to split with itself, than to acquiesce in and be complicit with Trump’s self-aggrandizing poison.
One blip just after an armed attack on the Chamber does not a moderate make. Only half a dozen of his colleagues stayed with challenging state returns; most of those Republicans who voted to accept the state returns will still allow no visible daylight between their politics and MAGA.
Hey don’t confuse him with the facts.
Let this clown show go on.
Lindsay Graham is really Joe Biden’s best friend in the Senate!
Remember he “told ya so!”
I can’t imagine that James understood Dave’s post anyway. Most likely, he will reply with some response that has nothing to do with the conversation, and then criticize you for failing to acknowledge his “point”.
Of course, I don’t know how voting for Amy Barrett “twice” proves Graham is a moderate, but I prefer not to ask.
My point is N OT that Graham is a moderate…
He isn’t….
I NEVER SAID HE WAS….
Jack said that which isn’t my words….
My point was and STILL is he goes with the wind…..
(And I’m waiting for the day when he feel’s it safe to reach out for Biden…Which HE WILL I’m sure of)
If he was stunch Trumpster he wouldn’t even vote to confirm ANY Biden choice…
That he ducked on Defense goes to what I’ve said….
He couldn’t vote AGAINST Defense in SC….
So he he didn’t….
On Homeland he wanted to hold THAT up but watched the others make his position ok to vote against….
James, you could make the same kind of apology for Richard Nixon, who spent a career triangulating between the real-world business wing, the foreign-policy establishment, Teddy Roosevelt conservationists, suburban GOP feminists (Remember Susan Anthony!) and the pro-civil-rights Republican tradition on one side and the McCarthyites, the defense-industry Hawks, the big polluting industries, the pro-life movement and the ex-Dixiecrats on the other.
And Lindsey Graham — while he looked good when hitching his star to John McCain’s — can’t lay claim genuine Nixonian achievements such as nuclear treaties, the EPA and the Legal Services Corporation. although he might have had he actually moved immigration reform past the Nativist GOP backwoodsmen.
Indeed Nixon, who i met once getting on an airplane DID get props for his foreign affairs actions…
But THAT was buried under his screwups….
Yes
The guys who put the place together made going back and forth….compromise…. a central party of the way the American Government works…
Me?
I just pointed out that Graham probably is is seen as the best example it…
Jack tends to talk in absolutes which is not human nature and certainly NOT politicans
One day soon, I want a detailed read-out of this Nixon-Dog airplane encounter.
I saw him getting on a flight…
He was with the secret Service guy who retired to stay as his private body guard…
He was a mere shadow of who had been/was…
Gave me a smile
about what year was this?
Horse manure.
I’ve called you on your idiotic “told ya so” routine whereby something happens which is obvious to everyone here and you declare that you “predicted” it or other sort of foolishness.
The fact that Graham May, at some point ,support Biden on some issue means nothing as to where his allegiance lay
Plainly ,it is with Donald Trump.
As i said Jack?
Your view…..
Hey CG?
Here is an example of Jack’s ‘I’m Right’
Even when he acknowledges that something he gave as a absolute REALLY isn’t…
You were just very lucky that Joe Biden was nominated for President when one year ago at this point, everyone else here had surely counted him out.
In regards to Lindsey Graham, people like to speculate about all sort of things that they really have no way of knowing anything about.
If we are doing that though, it seems to be that perhaps he has some sort of need to latch on to an older male figure and show loyalty to them and that he likes the concept of being a “wing-man.”
As an amateur psychiatrist, perhaps this could be related to his father having died when he was still pretty young.
“ my view?”
So you don’t think Graham “really” is for Trump.
It’s hard to follow you but I guess that’s what you’re saying.
Graham twists himself into pretzels for reasons undetermined.
He clearly understood Trump for what he was at one point and then later on down the road, flipped dramatically, because he determined it was better to be close to Trump.
With Trump out of office now, I just do not see the point of how he was acting on the Fox show. He clearly knew what he intended to say and was doing Trump’s bidding in the interview. Things like that lead me to think that maybe someone does have something hanging over his head.
Could be.
One things for sure ,for whatever reason,He remains solidly behind Trump.
He seemed to break up with him on the Senate floor on 1/6 and then in a press conference the day after and then, sometime after being harassed at the airport, dramatically changed again.
This whole topic is ridiculous.
Graham is one of Trumps best known supporters.
Says he’s wants to travel the country with Trump to elect Republicans in 2022.
Whether or not he supports Biden on a certain piece of legislation means nothing.
Yea Jack….
Means nothing ‘to you’
Again
Absolutes….
‘People ain’t just one thing’
Meaningless blather .
I notice you don’t contradict anything I said.
Then again maybe you’re right?
Take you for instance, you “claim” to be a Democrat, yet when you first appeared on Politics1 you called yourself an “Independent “ who “leans” Democratic.
At various times ,you often express sympathy for Republican “moderates”( an undefined term that apparently identifies any Republican who ever utters a word against Trump) .
Accordingly, you are “more than one thing!” A Democrat, an “Independent “ and maybe a “moderate “ Republican?
This “more than one thing “stuff is great!
I think those who are “more pro-Trump” than Lindsey Graham are the ones that objected to the electoral votes, which Graham never supported doing.
Graham spent his time trying to get more Trump votes by (probably) illegally pressuring Georgia officials.
Trump just released a long blistering attack on McConnell.
Maybe he will support a leadership challenge to McConnell by Lindsey Graham..
I have to still read it, but I see that Trump called McConnell, “dour, sullen, and “unsmiling.”
Is he going to attack him for his hair or for having small hands next?
Summer Conception
Trump dumps on McConnell within days of Trump loyalists knocking the Senate minority leader for scolding ex-POTUS after acquittal:
-Lindsey Graham: “Put a load on back of GOPers” re: midterms
-Ron Johnson: “Scathing speech … does not reflect the majority of our conference”
Trump LOST!
Trump is under investigation by how many DA’s?
Yet these numbuts ate STILL let’m rip up their party?
Is Trump trying to HELP Democrats in next years midterms???
Trump seems to have always been trying to help Democrats.
“told ya so”
He, he, he…..
Quiet!
Don’t let on…..
I just saw the McConnell throw down by Trump…
I’ll have a post later on this ..
The Civil War heats up again…
The media IS gonna be happy
Forget Biden
Lets reportwatch on the GOP imploding…
