Why?
Cause McConnell has the balls to say that Donald Trump egged on the Jan.6 Capitol protests and assaults with his comments ….
The media is reporting that McConnell IS trying to wrestle the Grand ole party out the arms of Trump , a generally disgraced former President by most Americans, ( under investigation by several DA’s, the IRS and about to be the subject of an Congressional commission , with how many civil suits?after Mueller and a 2nd impeachment) but NOT be most Republican party voters…
Trump, who cares less about the party…
Never did….
For him?
It’s about his ego….
So he’s showing disrespect. to the guy who carried the water for him in the US Senate for FOUR years……
In doing this?
True to himself?
Donald J. Trump IS trying to rip the Grand ole Party in half……
And continue to try bend reality….
Trump’s statement came after McConnell (R-Ky.) voted to acquit Trump but harshly criticized him for being “practically and morally responsible for provoking” the Capitol attack, and indicated that the party needed to turn away from Trumpism to win back its majority in the Senate. McConnell also suggested that there could be legal consequences for Trump’s conduct on the day of the riot.
Trump said he would fight head-on McConnell’s focus on “electability” in GOP candidates and would back pro-Trump Republicans in congressional primaries where “necessary and appropriate.”
“Mitch is a dour, sullen, and unsmiling political hack, and if Republican Senators are going to stay with him, they will not win again,” he said in the statement released by the Save America PAC. “He will never do what needs to be done, or what is right for our Country…
…
The statement marked a new low in the roller-coaster relationship that Trump and McConnell have forged — one that has been beneficial to both men at times. McConnell helped deliver some of Trump’s most enduring presidential accomplishments, including a massive tax cut and three Supreme Court justices, prompting Trump to bestow occasional praise.
But Trump never quite trusted McConnell’s political instincts, which were more loyal to ensuring a durable GOP Senate majority than to Trump personally.
Trump’s statement Tuesday included a particularly nasty — and unfounded — personal dig, accusing him of being soft on China because of “his family’s substantial Chinese business holdings.” That is an apparent reference to McConnell’s wife, Elaine Chao, who served as Trump’s transportation secretary until she resigned in protest over the Jan. 6 riot. While Chao was born in Taiwan to a wealthy shipping family and has benefited from an inheritance, McConnell’s personal financial disclosures show no Chinese business interests….
…
But Trump had other plans. Besides the personal attacks on McConnell, his 600-word statement sought to recast the 2020 election cycle — which resulted not only in Trump losing the White House but also Republicans losing the Senate majority — as a failure of the party establishment personified by McConnell….
…
“My goal is, in every way possible, to have nominees representing the Republican Party who can win in November,” McConnell told Politico. “Some of them may be people the former president likes. Some of them may not be. The only thing I care about is electability.”…

Kentucky GOP Leader Calls on McConnell to Resign
Nelson County, KY Republican party chair Don Thrasher called on Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to resign his leadership position, telling McConnell it was due to “complete and total disdain for the will of your constituents.”
Said Thrasher: “Your leadership in the US Senate does not represent the Republican voters that put our faith in you in the last primary election. Therefore I am formally requesting you resign your position as Republican Caucus Leader of the US Senate, forthwith and with all possible dispatch.”

From RRH Elections.,…
Trump/McConnell: Trump released a public statement yesterday, basically calling Mitch McConnell a poopoo head who screwed everything up and ruined the Republican Party forever. I’m only mildly exaggerating the above, as *reading* what feels like a mildly-edited version of a Trump off-the-cuff stump speech is an unusual sensation we might have to start getting used to from now on. Regardless, McConnell is probably just going to smile politely and work behind the scenes to make sure all of Trump’s candidates lose, because at this point a proxy war between the physical incarnation of the Washington Establishment and Trump’s parrot twitter accounts isn’t even the worst outcome for the GOP heading into 2022.
