A majority of those in the new Quinnipiac poll say their President should step out of office….
Two other recent polls have President Trump job approval in the high 30’s…
Things have gone south for a guy who thinks he could run for President again four years from now?
A majority of voters say President Trump should resign from office for stirring up the mob of supporters that stormed the U.S. Capitol as lawmakers gathered to certify President-elect Joe Biden’s Electoral College victory, according to a new poll.
The latest Quinnipiac University survey finds that 56 percent of voters hold Trump directly responsible for the violent siege on Congress that resulted in five deaths.
Fifty-three percent of voters say Trump should resign, and 52 percent say he should be removed from office….
…
Trump is not expected to resign, although two Senate Republicans have said they believe he should.
Trump’s job approval has plunged 11 points since December, falling to an all-time low of 33 percent favorable and 60 percent unfavorable.
Voters in the poll also blame the Republicans in the House and Senate that challenged the Electoral College vote count, with 58 percent saying those lawmakers were undermining democracy. Fifty-eight percent also said they did not believe there was widespread fraud in the election….

Knowing Trump that rebuke from the PGA in pulling that tournament from his property is a bigger blow to him than anything else!

Speaking of “blows”– I guess that’s what would have to happen for Clinton impeachment chair Lindsey Graham to consider impeaching Trump.
Insurrection? Nah that won’t do it.

In a sign that there is a changing of direction in the Republican Party, Ryan Costello, an anti-Trump conservative who recently left Congress after not seeking reelection is now considering a run for the U.S. Senate in 2022.
“If I run I will literally take this entire bullshit head on. And if I would lose I would do so with 100% pride in the fact I did it for a cause greater than myself.”
If he does, I might send him some money and perhaps even some Democrats who say they want to see the Trump era end for the Republican Party should do so as well.

The New England Patriots’ head coach Bill Belichick, owner Bob Kraft and starting quarterback Tom Brady stood out in a diverse liberal state for their strong support for (and friendship with) Donald Trump.
Now I’m sure that Coach Belichick (who grew up in Annapolis at the son of an assistant coach at Navy) will rise to the top of Trump’s Deadly Enemy List for declining to accept the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
He issued this statement:
Patriots coach Bill Belichick was nominated to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor, from President Trump. On Monday night, he declined the honor in a statement. Read it below:
“Recently, I was offered the opportunity to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom, which I was flattered by out of respect for what the honor represents and admiration for prior recipients,” the coach wrote.
“Subsequently, the tragic events of last week occurred and the decision has been made not to move forward with the award. Above all, I am an American citizen with great reverence for our nation’s values, freedom, and democracy. I know I also represent my family and the New England Patriots team.
“One of the most rewarding things in my professional career took place in 2020 when, through the great leadership within our team, conversations about social justice, equality, and human rights moved to the forefront and became actions. Continuing those efforts while remaining true to people, team, and country I love outweigh the benefits of any individual award.”
Take this medal,
And take it to the Captain,
Take this medal,
And take it to the Captain;
Take this medal,
And take it to the Captain —
Tell him he’s gone;
Tell him he’s gone.

A good example of leadership, and why Belichick has been an effective coach.

Billionaire GOP megadonor Sheldon Afelsom has died.

Adelson was the biggest donor to Trump in both the 2016 and 2020 campaigns and the presidential inauguration. He also donated heavily to other prominent Republicans. He will be remembered as a supporter of Netanyahu, an opponent of Palestinian statehood, and a supporter of Jewish settlements in the West Bank. He mostly made his fortune in the casino business, an industry that provides no benefits to society. Although he disputed it, a court found that he approved of prostitution at his Macau casino.
But he made a lot of money. So he will likely be admired by some.

The hits on the Republican Party just keep coming.
Deutsche Bank just announced that they are cutting ties with Trump and it appears that they fear he won’t/can’t pay back the 300 million he owes them.
One of my best and oldest friends on Capitol Hill is investigating these investments. He cannot discuss his work but guess who he works for?
Maxine Waters.
So while dirty trickster Roger Stone was breaking the law for Trump and almost every other Republican President in the last 50 years, Corey’s false equivalency Maxine Waters has been investigating the potential reason for Trump’s traitorous relationship to Putin and a foreign adversary.
Roger was one of the conduits to Russia and, of course, Trump pardoned him for his crimes and to keep him talking.
But, by all means, what about Maxine.
All anyone has to do is google Roger and you’ll see he’s worked for every Republican President or Presidential candidate since Nixon with perhaps the one exception of Saint Mitt. Most of the later efforts weren’t formal, done I suspect do develop some distance from his dirty tricks. But my favorite is the preppy riot he organized for Bush II in Florida.
One of the other folks in Florida in 2000 was Brett “the drunken preppy judge” Kavanaugh. So the Bush connections just keep coming. That was another time the Republicans worked to subvert an election result like they did last week in the Capitol.
All circle, what goes around comes around, Ginni Thomas, the porn King Clarence’s right wing and hateful wife paid for buses so those Republicans could travel to the Capitol to commit treason. Clarence was Bush I’s Court pick and he has rarely spoken since. But his wife sure has a mouth on her.
The connections are very interesting and disturbing.
Roger Stone has been near or connected to almost every shady Republican dirty trick over five decades and don’t get me started on his personal sexual proclivities.
Trump has benefited from Roger’s illegal activities and he ultimately expected the Supreme Court to win him, like they did for Bush, the Presidential election. He said so any number of times.
Actually, now that I think of it, in light of all the things these Republicans have done over the years it’s clear Corey needs to up his whataboutisms.
