The FBI has gone on line….
And so has other civilian on-line sleuths and employers….
The protestors have nade things easier by mostly NOT earring masks….
Since most of the rioters stormed the Capitol maskless, online detectives had a unique opportunity to easily identify them. And many made it even easier — they live-streamed their participation and later bragged about their escapades.
Using journalists’ photos and videos, as well as live-streamed videos from rioters, untold Twitter users and Instagram accounts have been feverishly working since Wednesday to ID and name the participants who stormed the halls of the Capitol, ransacking lawmakers’ offices and occupying the House Chamber.
Some, like the Instagram account @homegrownterrorists, amassed huge followings in a few hours. When posters believe they’ve identified someone, the images are updated with names and details about the person — like their social media handle, hometown or job title.
The FBI has been attempting a similar tactic. The Washington field office tweeted dozens of images of rioters on Thursday, asking the public to help identify people. Through early Thursday, police said they arrested 69 people from at least 20 states and the District for charges ranging from unlawful entry of public property, to violating curfew and assaulting a police officer. The department is also offering a $1,000 reward for tips that lead to an arrest.
But even for some who haven’t yet been charged with a crime, the consequences have been swift for their crowdsourced identifications.
Paul Davis, a Dallas-area lawyer, was fired on Thursday from his position as associate general counsel and director of human resources at Goosehead Insurance after a Twitter user posted his Instagram story, showing Davis live-streaming outside the Capitol and talking about wanting to get inside. Davis said in the video that he had been tear-gassed….

A police office died in the service of his country. Why the hell isn’t the flag at the White House lowered to half-staff yet?

In Trump’s book that officer is a loser.

There were some “very fine people” who beat him to death.
What they are saying on one blog I saw is that the officer went home and was fine after the incident so something else must have happened to him.

House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC) is calling for an inquiry into how rioters at the U.S. Capitol knew where to find his office space, Fox News reports.
Said Clyburn: “My office, if you don’t know where it is, you aren’t going to find it by accident. The one place where my name is on the door, that office is right on Statuary Hall. They didn’t touch that door. But they went into that other place where I do most of my work. They showed up there, harassing my staff.”
He added: “How did they know to go there? Why didn’t they go where my name was? Then, where you won’t find my name, but they found where I was supposed to be. Something else is going on untoward here. We need to have an extensive investigation to find out.”…

As of 1/10/2021 10AM…
Police continue to make arrests following Wednesday’s violent mob that stormed the Capitol and interrupted the certification of Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 presidential election.
There have been at least 82 people arrested, according to tallies. The number is expected to grow considerably after police said they had made at least 52 arrests, with 26 arrested on Capitol grounds. Videos and pictures showed thousands on the Capitol grounds.
The riot, which was incited by President Trump, resulted in five deaths.
The FBI’s official website said it “is seeking information that will assist in identifying individuals who are actively instigating violence in Washington, D.C. The FBI is accepting tips and digital media depicting rioting and violence in the U.S. Capitol building and surrounding area in Washington, D.C., on January 6, 2021.
“We have deployed our full investigative resources and are working closely with our federal, state, and local partners to aggressively pursue those involved in criminal activity during the events of January 6.”
More than 60 of the people arrested will be charged with violating the 6 p.m. curfew set by Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser on Wednesday, and 37 will face unlawful entry charges. On Friday, the Justice Department noted that 13 people had been charged in federal court….

Nearly All Arrested for Capitol Riots Were Trump Fans
Most of 120 people who have been arrested in connection to or identified as being at the Capitol riot through photos and videos are longtime supporters of President Trump, an Associated Press analysis found.
The evidence gives lie to claims by right-wing pundits and Republican officials such as Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) that the violence was perpetrated by left-wing antifa thugs rather than supporters of the president.
