Whoops!
All this Trump Republicans ‘for life ‘stuff and THIS?
People dropping OUT of the Grand ole’ Party around the country?
By the THOUSANDS???
More than 30,000 voters who had been registered members of the Republican Party have changed their voter registration in the weeks after a mob of pro-Trump supporters attacked the Capitol — an issue that led the House to impeach the former president for inciting the violence.
The massive wave of defections is a virtually unprecedented exodus that could spell trouble for a party that is trying to find its way after losing the presidential race and the Senate majority.
It could also represent the tip of a much larger iceberg: The 30,000 who have left the Republican Party reside in just a few states that report voter registration data, and information about voters switching between parties, on a weekly basis.
Voters switching parties is not unheard of, but the data show that in the first weeks of the year, far more Republicans have changed their voter registrations than Democrats. Many voters are changing their affiliation in key swing states that were at the heart of the battle for the White House and control of Congress.
Nearly 10,000 Pennsylvania voters dropped out of the Republican Party in the first 25 days of the year, according to the secretary of state’s office. About a third of them, 3,476, have registered as Democrats; the remaining two-thirds opted to register with another party or without any party affiliation.
By contrast, about a third as many Pennsylvania Democrats opted to either join the Republican Party (2,093 through Monday) or to register with no party or a minor party (1,184)…..

More on the bleed off of Republican voters from the Grand ole’ Party…..
4,600 fewer Republicans after the riot
In the week from Jan. 6 through Jan. 12, about 4,600 Republicans changed their party status in Colorado, according to a CPR News analysis. There was no comparable effect with any other party. CPR News was able to contact dozens of them by tracking changes in the state’s voter file.
The number of people changing parties spiked immediately after the Capitol breach. The same phenomenon is playing out nationwide. News outlets documented about 6,000 defections from the party in North Carolina, 10,000 in Pennsylvania and 5,000 in Arizona.
In Colorado, only a small fraction of the defectors made the same dramatic leap as Darrah did in choosing to join the Democratic Party. Some went to conservative third parties. But the vast majority — about 4,200 people — switched from Republican to unaffiliated status, accelerating a trend that has affected both parties in Colorado in recent years…

Noteworthy but overall?
Not that significant.
Since the vast majority of these people are Switching to unaffiliated or Independent,it really means that they are mad at the entity “Republican Party;”however they will likely still vote mostly for Republicans.

Chris Cillizza over @ CNN on the comtinued bleed off of Republicans from the Grand ole Party after the January 6 Capitol protest/assault…
The reverberations of the January 6 riot at the US Capitol — and the role then-President Donald Trump and his complicit allies in Congress played in it — are still moving through both the electorate and the country as a whole.
But less than a month removed from the riot, there’s a very troubling trend beginning to develop in states around the country: lots and lots of people are leaving the Republican Party….

You do have to make some allowance for an opposite motive in disaffiliating (or deregistering) from the GOP — especially by those who switched to an available alternative conservative party such as Constitution — some voters who are more pro-Trump (or more pro-Fox, etc.) might be leaving the party because they are unhappy with the Party establishment for insufficient or inconsistent loyalty to The Cause.

Good point DSD…

It will also cost the party fundraising money I’d think….
