I received my first Vaccine yesterday.
Has anyone else here been vaccinated?
What are the rules there for who can get it and where did you have to go?
In Cook County, people over 65 are supposed to be able to get it “soon.” My hope of course is for my parents (over 70) to get the vaccine as soon as possible. I am sure it will be months before I am.
Here in S.C. it’s over 70.
Publix grocery stores announced they were going to give them at their pharmacy by appointment only.I managed to get one of the slots.
Do they let people stay there under observation after to make sure nobody has an immediate side effect issue?
My parents, and I assume many others, would feel safest getting it done at the doctors office.
Yeah I had to sit there for fifteen minutes after receiving the vaccine.
The only side effect I’ve had is my arm is a little sore.

Henry Aaron was a true American hero. Raised in the Jim Crow South, he ignored hatred as he conquered baseball and went on to live a life of eminence. He was a paragon of grace and class. When he walked into a room, everyone froze, then marveled. We all knew we were among a king.

The amount and venom of the hate-mail that Hank Aaron received after beating Babe Ruth’s and Roger Maris’s records was incredible. I can’t remember if he got death threats, but it wouldn’t be surprising if he did.

Because you support a private healthcare system – and private healthcare systems ration healthcare in similar way to how every other commodity is rationed under capitalism. The drug companies and the providers all otherwise work in a capitalistic environment so of course some might make deals under the table. I don’t know exactly what the future healthcare system will look like, and how much control patients will have in choosing their provider. What I do know is that 85% of Democrats and 57% of independents believe that the government has a responsibility to provide universal care. The US is the only developed country in the world that hasn’t committed to providing universal care. You might already know this.
Ultimately, it will be the high cost of private healthcare that will make even more people demand that our government implement universal healthcare. Healthcare costs so much in the US that many people with insurance still decide to forego necessary medical treatments that can cost thousands after insurance pays most of the bills. Not everyone has a couple of thousand dollars lying around to pay for some medical procedure.

From what I have heard there is an antipathy among Arizona Republicans to newcomers to the state. They are seen as “liberals” from states like California or New York hell bent on making AZ the next As. Francisco. Most are actually suburban moderates. But it’s doubtful the state is as attractive to conservatives leaving other states however. Sounds like right wingers leaving CA are more likely to move somewhere like Idaho and those from the Northeast are probably looking more to Florida now that it is home to the Trump’s.
