It has been pointed out by some of us that House Speaker Pelosi ‘s push to ‘get rid’ of Donald Trump so fast WOULD lock Joe Biden out of moving ahead for several days or longer ….
The process of impeachment would move to the front of the line in Congress stopping Biden cabinet members from confirmation and essentially keeping Donald Trump Mitch McConnell in the headlines , NOT the start of Joe Biden’s administration…
House Majority Whip James Clyburn hinted today that House Democrats might slow the rush on impeachment …Pelosi gave the decision to go ahead with impeachment as based on Vice President not using the 25th Amend to remove President Trump…
THAT is not gonna happen…
It appears the House Speaker may have backed herself and House Democrats into a corner that Clyburn and Biden do NOT want to be in and maybe trying to get out of…
Clyburn wants a vote ….
But ti not send the issue to the Senate until AFTER Biden is sworn in and Schumer is the Majority leader with a 50/50 US Senate….
House Majority Whip James Clyburn on Sunday said House Democrats might wait until after President-elect Joe Biden’s first 100 days in office to send any articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump to the Senate, a move that would give the incoming President time to tackle his agenda in Congress before the start of a time-consuming trial.

SERIOUSLY….
This needs to be Nancy Pelosi’s last two years as Speaker…
Keith says
Did you even read this article James?
Still promoting the Republican line I see.
Where shall I begin. First, you do know that she was planning to retire if Hillary had been elected, and stayed to keep her caucus together and get the majority back.
It’s never wrong to do the right thing. Trump and his Republican enablers are guilty of sedition. They were attempting to overthrow the legally elected government. These folks need to be put on record over their own support for a traitor.
Second, do you really think Pelosi hasn’t discussed this with the Biden people. Trump is a criminal and we deserve to know where everyone stands.
Right now Pelosi is at the funeral of the police officer who ragging Republicans killed this week. Trump hasn’t even lowered the flags at the White House.
It will be her last term, I’ve told you that several times in the past. Put your misogyny away please.
jamesb says
First….
She HAS the majority back….
We KNOW Trump needs to be spanked….
In spanking him?
Biden does NOT to get put aside for 48 hours …
Second…
I mentioned here that I WOULD assume she does ANYTHING with consulting Biden…
Back to First…
She WAS gonna give the job up …
She did NOT…
She IS a gifted woman who has done a DAMN Good Job….
But she needs to retire….
The calling the Pentagon think was unneeded…
The 2020 House results ARE on her watch…
This impeachment push was ill thought out….
Clyburn is throwing her a bone….
I STAND by my view as card carrying Democrat….
Keith says
Spanked?
That’s your problem, besides being a Republican apologist. Way past spanking time.
Time for criminals to be held accountable.
You may be a Democrat but you’re also a misogynist.
Keith says
Also, of course the Pentagon thing was necessary. She publicly put Trump on notice.
Do you think that someone who just started a deadly riot wouldn’t call out the troops to keep himself in office?
Are you that stubbornly naive?
jamesb says
The troops STAYED in the barracks….
Again?
They made THAT CLEAR from the jump…
The President cannot just order the nukes…
She KNOWS that….
Grand Standing….
SERIOUSLY?
She needs to retire.…
jamesb says
I’m not even gonna address the bull shit anti-woman thing….

Unless something crazy happens ?
Pence isn’t gonna 25th amend Trump….

Speaker Pelosi tells
@60Minutes
she and Sen. Chuck Schumer called VP Mike Pence to urge him to initiate the 25th amendment and were kept on the line for “at least” 20 minutes. He never came on the phone.
“We’re still waiting for him to return the call,” she says.
jamesb says
Lawmakers are already privately expressing concerns about returning to the Capitol for multiple days this week, worried about both a potential coronavirus outbreak and whether the building is secure, given how easily an armed pro-Trump mob invaded on Wednesday.
The Capitol physician urged House lawmakers and staff to get tested in a memo Sunday, saying they might have been exposed to someone who had the virus while huddling for safety in a large committee room for hours on Wednesday. During the hourslong lockdown, several Republican members refused to wear masks despite being offered them by Democrats worried about the spread of the deadly virus….

More on the impeachment issue for the Democrats that seems to becoming a problem for Joe Biden NOT Donald Trump..
Some Democrats are looking to Biden to take a firm public stance and slam the brakes on impeachment, but top Democrats now see it as increasingly unlikely that the president-elect will go further than his measured warning on Friday that whatever else Congress does, it needs to “hit the ground running” on his agenda when he takes office.
“The train has left the station. I think many are worried about how it gets done, how it’s going to be handled, and how do we make sure it’s not going to divide the country further,” one Democrat said of impeachment. “It’s on a track that, while people have reservations, nobody knows how to stop it.”….

Correction, they just lowered the flag. By the end of the day we will hear leaks from the White House that Trump didn’t want to do it.,

Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert was live tweeting where Nancy Pelosi and other leaders of Congress were located in the Capitol while the riot was going on.
Think about it. This is the woman who wants to carry her gun inside the Capitol Building.

Move to expel the kook.
Keith says
But is she really a Kook or a Mainstream Republican?
She joined 130 plus Members of her Party to reject the legitimate election of a United States President. Seems like they are all cut from the same cloth.
After all, two of her colleagues have praised Hitler, and she wants to carry her Glock into the Capitol. I doubt very much if the average Republican thinks this woman is a Kook.
I have been listening to interviews all day from Republican voters who say that while they may be disappointed in Trump they would surely vote for him again. Half of the average Republican voter still thinks it was fine for their fellow Party members to invade the Capitol. Is she a Kook, or a loyal Party member?
Democratic Socialist Dave says
If wilfully and knowingly endangering the lives of over five hundred elected members of Congress [plus causing needless risk to brave apolitical police officers] is not an expellable offense, I can’t for the life of me see what could be.
Compare this with the expulsions of Adam Clayton Powell (D-Harlem) and Victor Berger (Socialist-Milwaukee), and their alleged offences fade away into nothingness.
Cong. Boebert’s Wikipedia biography is too dense and varied to attempt summarizing here (e.g her Shooters Grill in Rifle, Colo., violated a local no-dining-during-pandemic order). See, instead,
