She IS a an elected member of the US House and has been given a pass so far by other Republicans….
She has ‘on the record’ threats against Democrats and even FBI agents….
Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene repeatedly indicated support for executing prominent Democratic politicians in 2018 and 2019 before being elected to Congress, a CNN KFile review of hundreds of posts and comments from Greene’s Facebook page shows.
Greene, who represents Georgia’s 14th Congressional District, frequently posted far-right extremist and debunked conspiracy theories on her page, including the baseless QAnon conspiracy which casts former President Donald Trump in an imagined battle against a sinister cabal of Democrats and celebrities who abuse children.
In one post, from January 2019, Greene liked a comment that said “a bullet to the head would be quicker” to remove House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. In other posts, Greene liked comments about executing FBI agents who, in her eyes, were part of the “deep state” working against Trump…
…
In one speech, promoting the petition, Greene suggested Pelosi could be executed for treason.
“She’s a traitor to our country, she’s guilty of treason,” Greene says in the video, which she posted on Facebook at the time. “She took an oath to protect American citizens and uphold our laws. And she gives aid and comfort to our enemies who illegally invade our land. That’s what treason is. And by our law representatives and senators can be kicked out and no longer serve in our government. And it’s, uh, it’s a crime punishable by death is what treason is. Nancy Pelosi is guilty of treason.”
In another Facebook Live broadcast from inside Pelosi’s office on February 22, 2019, Greene suggested the House speaker will “suffer death or she’ll be in prison” for her “treason.” Notably, Greene never mentions a trial. In another broadcast from later that day, she suggested California Rep. Maxine Waters was “just as guilty of treason as Nancy Pelosi.”….

Z?
This also applies to Greene….
CNN talked to people in her district…
No poll….
Most people the reporter talked to SUPPORTED Greene and disregarded her comments that would get most other’s locked up….
It’s anti-Democrats…
And so far in public?
The GOPer’s ARE sticking together ….
Again…
Trump HAS left the Presidency…
The pressure is off….
My Name Is Jack says
You still don’t understand what has happened to the Republican Party.
What “pressure?”
jamesb says
Those GOPer’s who actually wanted Trump OUT OF office….
They’ll take his supporters though….
My Name Is Jack says
Haha!
Yeah that’s it!
Your naïveté is amusing.
Keith says
To paraphrase George W. Bush, today’s conversation was some weird shit. I didn’t think Corey’s obsession with me could get any worse. I was wrong.
Scott P says
Yes it was. More whataboutism than you can shake a stick at.
Anything to deflect from the fact that in CG’s once and future party Liz Cheney faces more opposition for daring to hold Trump accountable than Marjorie Taylor Greene does for believing in crazy Q-Anon conspiracy theories like Hillary Clinton and Huma Abedin drank children’s blood.
Someone posted on Facebook that during the “Satanic Panic” of the 1980s people believed that those who played Dungeons and Dragons would get so caught up in the fantasy game they would harm and kill other people or themselves. Of course that never happened except in the minds of religious crazies who saw “Satan” behind every heavy metal band, but it seems to actually be the case with the Q-Anon role players.
Today at least two of them are Congressional Republicans.
jamesb says
Rep. Jimmy Gomez wants Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene booted from Congress.
The California Democrat announced on Wednesday that he planned to introduce a resolution to oust the conspiracy-theory-peddling Republican from Georgia after recent news reports revealed that Greene had previously called for violence against Democrats on social media.
A two-thirds majority is required to expel a member from the House, meaning Gomez’s resolution is almost certain to fail in a chamber where Democrats hold a razor-thin majority. Still, the measure is one of the starkest rebukes yet against the congresswoman…

Fat chance of that happening!
Democratic Socialist Dave says
Adam Clayton Powell — expel him!
Victor Berger — expel him!
I don’t recall that either of them advocated political violence (in fact Berger was at the extreme “right ” of the Socialist Party and thus implacably opposed to even hints of direct action from the left of the SP and the IWW.)
But a congresswoman who advocates violence against her fellow members — she’s just one of the guys.
Zreebs says
Dave, It appears that Victor Berger died in 1929.
I’m just saying this as a virtual friend with what I hope is constructive advice. Consider using more recent examples if you want your arguments to be more persuasive. Perhaps you should have used someone like Virginia Governor Ralph Northam to have made your point?
I had forgotten the names of Powell and Berger, and perhaps never heard of them. So ironically, your post could be interpreted that the call for Green to resign is highly unusual as there is no recent comparison. But I’m rather sure that was not your intently this post.
Democratic Socialist Dave says
I was just using the two examples I could recall of members actually being expelled (essentially for political reasons) — and comparing them to the GOP’s complacency about their new comrade Rep. Greene’s conniving at violence against her colleagues.
Democratic Socialist Dave says
By the way, both of those men enjoyed great support not from other parties in Congress but within their own districts from their own urban electorates in Harlem and Milwaukee, just as Rep. Greene no no doubt enjoys such support today within her super-Republican NW Georgia district.
Zreebs says
I wonder why Wikipedia doesn’t list those two gutsy as being expelled? They only list James Traficant and Michael Meyers as the only congressmen expelled since 1900.
My Name Is Jack says
I believe Powell’s expulsion was later overturned by the Supreme Court so that might explain his absence from that article.
Democratic Socialist Dave says
I was too imprecise and Jack’s right
Congress just refused to seat Powell or Berger (both of whom had been elected to previous Congresses), but the Supreme Court overturned both decisions. However when Berger was returned again by his voters in a special election in 1920, Congress again left the seat unfilled until a Republican won it in November.
Powell and Berger were later re-elected by their voters at least once afterwards.
So, while their cases are instructive, they don’t apply directly to Rep. Greene, a freshman who has already been seated (even if it was just only two days before the armed rebellion).

Explain it to me like I’m 5 cause I don’t fucking get it
Zreebs says
One of the networks had a reporter in Green’s district asking constituents what they thought of her. Green apparently won with over 75% of the vote. (Note to self: Scratch NW Georgia off my list of potential places to retire)
the constituents the reporter talked with still supported Green, and one said that her death threats against the Democrats made him think more favorably of her “because it shows she is a fighter”.
When I left the room, it occurred to me that it is possible Marjorie Taylor Green is the future of the GOP. she talks in a way that attracts Republicans, Her outrageous statements reminded me of Trump, and if her making death threats doesn’t bother her supporters, what will?
jamesb says
Z must have seen the same thing I saw….
Greene HAS strong support in her district….
CG says
If she had specified that the Democrats she wants to be executed should be executed “at The Hague” , would that have made any difference?
because that has been shrugged off here before when it was said about Republican leaders.
Scott P says
Are those people in Congress?
CG says
No, Keith would not be able to get elected to Congress.
My Name Is Jack says
No he’s not.
That “ whataboutism” falls flat.
Try again.
Zreebs says
I am clueless to what Keith has to do with this conversation.
I can understand why you and Keith will likely never become best buddies, but I really don’t understand your hatred towards him. Maybe you should break bread together the next time he is in the Chicago area and get over your differences. I bet Keith would be willing if you promise to be nice.
CG says
I would no longer meet with him than I would Marjorie Taylor Green.
The tribalism exhibited here by some in demanding to only view one side is fairly close to cultism.
My Name Is Jack says
This is apolitical site.
We discuss politics.
What does Keith’s views have to do with the actions of this kook in your party?
CG says
Unacceptable should unacceptable.
At one point in time, he was a more “powerful” person than her, Now, the tables have turned.
Extremism should be spoken out against at all times.
jamesb says
And CG?
Lay off the personal stuff, Ok?
CG says
Not as long as you are inconsistent in what is allowed to be said about me. If you want me to leave altogether, say the word, but I have done that before, and you asked me to come back.
jamesb says
CG?
I need the history stuff to go away ….
You ARE well aware of what I mean….
We ALL like you being here….
We do NOT like the personal stuff on one person….
And?
We ALL get knocked for our political points of view…
CG says
james, what is your plan to be consistent on that?
Why do you allow posts with my first name (which I have not used on here in a long time) to be used? If anything and everything should be seen as just par for the course here, including being compared to a Nazi sympathizer, why don’t you let the Texan post here?
All I have done today is reference things said on here by that one person. How is that not fair game for criticism?
So, what is your plan to be even-handed?
jamesb says
I use abbreviations to be quick….
Your name IS YOUR name….
We do NOT use last names….
As Z just said….
You seem to take things a bit too serious….
Some people have called me a GOP sympathiser ….
I’m NOT….
I’m comfortable enough to disregard that as someone else’s view….
Sure the person is here and should be game for their political and even past political views….
But we ALL know this is deeper….
You two should go someplace to settle scores and remain here to keep in the POLITICAL and even other subjects mix…
But we ARE ALL uncomfortable with the back and forth between u two….
I KNOW u enjoy it….
And frankly I’m happy you come at things from the right….
The others couldn’t stand the heat and bailed…
Criticism IS part of this place….
Settling old wounds should be left at the door….Let’m heal for goodness sakes…Live in Today
CG says
“GOP sympathizer” = “Nazi sympathizer” I guess to some, it’s as big of a slur.
Zreebs says
I would meet with Green if she were willing. And I would meet with either you or Keith too if either of you asked. And I would be nice and have a good time.

And no Scott those supporters are NOT IN Congress…
But they put Green there during the BS in the last 6 months….
Of course the Congress itself COULD expel her…
Anyone think THAT would happen?…
My Name Is Jack says
No
CG says
It should be remembered that Democrats did not even have a candidate on the ballot to oppose MTG. No, it’s not a good district for Democrats, but you literally cannot beat someone with no one.
The fact that she wound up going unopposed speaks to the weakness of Democrats in many parts of the country.
It is also true that there are many districts in the country where a Democrat can say literally anything (or do anything) and still beat a Republican.
Tribalism runs very deep, on both sides, and people are too willing to overlook anything, as long as the “other side” hates them. To many, that is enough
My Name Is Jack says
That’s nothing new.
Been going on for years.
Not many people that are serious particularly care about being sacrificial lambs.
CG says
If you lived in a district where your option were Marjorie Green and Alvin Greene (or someone other “bozo” running as a Democrat) would you vote for the Democrat or just not vote?
I will give a compliment to your district. All things considered, in this sorry state of politics, both Nancy Mace and Joe Cunningham seem a bit above the pack.
My Name Is Jack says
Probably not vote or write on myself.
My Name Is Jack says
For some reason, Cunningham is talking about running for Governor.
An exercise in futility.
CG says
Democrats should go for anything they can in the short-term. Strike while the iron is hot. For now, at least ,the Republican Party is in shambles.
My Name Is Jack says
Maybe in some states?
SC isn’t one of them.
Scott P says
South Carolina is one of the few stares that is growing rapidly in population, but does not seem to be getting any bluer. My guess is there are a lot of military retirees or others of a more conservative bent relocating there. Another growing state that does not seem any more favorable to Democrats is Idaho. From what I hear a lot of conservatives from other Western states like Arizona or California are moving the4e. Retired cops, etc. Anecdotal mind you.
Scott P says
Then you should be opposed to gerrymandered districts like the GA 14th.
CG says
I looked at the district map and it seems pretty geographically compact.
CG says
Especially when I compare it to the district I live in, which I now see as “Godzilla on the toilet.”
Zreebs says
are you in Schneider’s district, Ktishnamoorthi’s or Schakowsky’s?
CG says
Raja’s, but literally walking distance from the other two.
CG says
and a less than 10 minute drive from Casten’s.
Zreebs says
CG, Sorry – I am not understanding your point or question. Please clarify what the
Hague has to do with this.
CG says
Would that have made her remarks more acceptable? A trial and execution before the World Criminal Court in The Hague?
I happen to think not.
That has been said on here and on the predecessor blog by a particular regarding George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, and others.
Maybe Marjorie’s “friends” should have intervened earlier on and told her to shut up with the crazy.
My Name Is Jack says
Well we know you Republicans arent “intervening.”
CG says
I have taken on more “conservatives” on online blogs over (too many) years that can ever be counted.
but with the sometime exception of DSD, everything said here by anyone on the “same team” gets a pass or a shrug.
My Name Is Jack says
I couldn’t care less about some nuts blogging.
We are talking about the United States Congress.
CG says
At one point in time, MTG was just a blogger nut too.
if Keith did run for Congress, I think you folks would be cheering him on and perhaps sending him money. I would be the one who would have to try alert the voters about what an unacceptable person he is. (but of course, his history goes far beyond anything I witnessed personally online, so a political future was never in the cards for him after a certain point)
My Name Is Jack says
You are so desperate to in some weird way divert the discussion here that now you are stepping into the “what if” world.
Unsurprising I might add.
CG says
The discussion is all combined.
As a democracy we thrive on political differences and the passion of personal opinion and free speech.
But policy difference should not equal desires for executions or threats of violence or saying that a Congressman you do not like being nearly killed was “karma” or saying that waiters should urinate in the soup of Republicans or Democrats, whatever the case may be.
All extremism should be opposed and those who advocate such things, left, right, or whatever, should be marginalized.
My Name Is Jack says
Oh that’s a bunch of bull!
This is a political discussion site.Thats all.
I don’t personally know any of the people here, you included.
I couldn’t care less about anyone here’s past like(or present for that matter)We are just a few guys discussing politics.
To attempt to divert the discussion to something about someone here that allegedly happened forty years ago?Is nothing more than a vain attempt to somehow end the discussion at handing atopic that you find distasteful( usually used by you when anyone here is criticizing a Republican)
Since you apparently agree with all here(or it least I presume so) about Greene and Hawley?
I will leave you with your weird obsession with Keith.
CG says
I am talking about stuff that was said on here a few months ago perhaps.
But you choose to cover your eyes and ears, just like a trained monkey.
jamesb says
And again?
If Greene was NOT a member of Congress she would have had several visits by the FBI…
But here political potion give her cover ….
Threatening people isn’t a First Amendment Right…
CG says
I don’t think the FBI would be visiting her if she were an ordinary citizen. There are a lot of nuts out there, on all sides, who say a lot of absolutely revolting things online, even on blogs we know.
She is definitely a nut, but did she herself say she was going to do something illegal or is she talking about how she wishes for a process to play out in which these people are held responsible for their supposed crimes through official procedures?
Horrible in my view, but I don’t really see any difference from “put em up at The Hague as War Criminals and broadcast their execution.”
jamesb says
People have been arrested for threaten lawmakers….
CG says
I do not see how she ever threatened a lawmaker.
She is speaking about how she wants politicians she does not like executed. If that were illegal of itself, one of your posters would wind up arrested (again.)
jamesb says
Bull Shit….
Greene expressly mentions Pelosi and others….
….’In one post, from January 2019, Greene liked a comment that said “a bullet to the head would be quicker” to remove House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. In other posts, Greene liked comments about executing FBI agents who, in her eyes, were part of the “deep state” working against Trump.’…
…
In one Facebook post from April 2018, Greene wrote conspiratorially about the Iran Deal, one of former President Barack Obama’s signature foreign policy achievements. A commenter asked Greene, “Now do we get to hang them ?? Meaning H & O ???,” referring to Obama and Hillary Clinton….
…
While Greene notes in Facebook posts that she disavows and denounces violence, within the comment sections of Greene’s Facebook page, commenters frequently cheer for politicians to be executed by hanging or firing squad….
CG says
and the things she says on Facebook is very similar to what many others have said for a long time about Republicans that people on the left will largely just ignore or shrug off.
And yes, you saw a ton of this about Trump too on social media with people fantasizing about him dead, etc.
It’s easier to ignore when you dislike the politician yourself, but the more people shrug it off, the more it is going to happen. It feeds into each other, So people can choose to be part of the problem or part of the solution.
jamesb says
Trump has been beat up politically for his position on violence ….
And has been impeached for it….
Greene has not…
My Name Is Jack says
Well she now is a Congress member elected by the good Republican voters of Georgia.
CG says
some of the bad ones too
Scott P says
Like Hawley’s column at 15 years old in defense of militias in thread of the Oklahoma City bombing the stuff with Greene should have been made public when she first ran for office.
It’s a deep red district but maybe another Republican could have defeated her in the primary.
CG says
He absolutely should have been questioned about it as an adult candidate for office and he could either defend it or reject it. A lot of kids say or write dumb things.
When I was 15, I was writing columns in school in favor of NAFTA.
CG says
From what I understand, Hawley as a 15 year’s comments were perhaps a bit more nuanced than presented here.
Scott P says
It was the same whiny shit he peddles now. That wackos who want to overturn the duly government should be listened to as though they are advocating rational policy.
Nope.
Scott P says
I can’t recall any bloggers from P1 or Pdog who believed a former Secretary of State sacrifices an infant and drank it’s blood.
But please correct me if I’m wrong

Worse than that was said, especially on Politics1, about prominent Republicans/Presidents, etc.
And I would denounce everyone there who deserved it, even if they had “Republican” or “conservative” in their handle.
Scott P says
Really? I don’t recall any liberals claiming Bush and Cheney drained the blood of children for consumption and murdering a police officer to cover it up.
CG says
The “blood of children” thing is about the oldest anti-Semitic trope in the book and gets used by all sorts of wackos throughout history.
So things like that were said on P1 directly about me from time and time and certainly in the collection of emails I received from at least one liberal.
Zreebs says
CG, Seriously, you take this stuff too seriously.
I can still recall things that were said about me on this site that I thought were unfair or inaccurate, but I don’t usually bring them back up. I might get pissed off at something for a couple of days, but I don’t hold grudges from weeks ago. You hold grudges from things said years ago. That can’t be healthy.
CG says
You should move on from your grudge about an imaginary “pantsuit” controversy that never even happened.
Zreebs says
I have no grudge, anger or annoyance about that topic. I just find your interest in what people wear interesting and rather amusing. How many men really would wonder who was the last president to wear pinstripes? It is also rather amusing that this topic is sensitive to you. But I don’t think your interest in the topic says anything about your character.
if you think I have a grudge or annoyance about this, you are misreading me.
Truthfully, I had arguments with everyone on this site at one time or another. But with the exception of Some pertaining to James, I would be hard pressed to remember them – and believe it or not that includes you!
CG says
You just may not have any fashion sense Zreebs. I made note of Biden’s pinstriped suit the other day. Big deal. I think Roger Stone would have approved of it. I think Presidents should wear nicer suits, different colors at times. etc. There were some articles about it and Reagan had some pretty nice suits back in the day. Of course he had Nancy helping him. Obama should have worn his tan suit more. Biden clearly bought some new suits for the Presidency (he didn’t really have to dress up all those months in the basement) so I salute him for trying the pinstripes.
As for grudges, I will continue to hold them. That is what the Jews, Italians, and Irish tend to do, and for good reason.
CG says
james, since you have made many posts about gym shoes here that nobody ever comments on, I request you put up a post about Presidents and the suits they wear.
Zreebs says
No I have no idea what is considered fashionable. I have some shirts in the closet that are over 15 years old. Are they out off style? I have no idea. My sister once gave me a subscription to GQ. I’m not sure if she thought it was a joke or not. Of course, one year she also gave me an ant farm – and I was in my 30s at the time!
Your decision to hold grudges is of course your decision. But that decision may cause you to have a less healthy life.
jamesb says

Democratic Socialist Dave says
The Republican Jewish Coalition on Friday once again denounced Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R., Ga.), calling her newly surfaced anti-Semitic conspiracy theory comments “indefensible and unacceptable.”
#JewishSpaceLasers began trending on Twitter on Thursday after Media Matters unearthed a 2018 Facebook post in which Greene made unfounded claims about the cause of California’s wildfires. She alleged that the Rothschilds, a wealthy Jewish banking family that is frequently the subject of anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, may have used a laser beam from space to spark a forest fire in order to profit from it.
“We rightly opposed Marjorie Taylor Greene in her primary election for Congress and proudly supported her GOP opponent, Dr. John Cowan,” RJC director Matt Brooks said, according to the Times of Israel.
When RJC endorsed Cowan, Greene had already taken on a controversial reputation over her belief in the QAnon movement, which claims, among other things, that former President Donald Trump and his allies are secretly working to expose a deep-state ring of child sex traffickers. Many of the movement’s theories have anti-Semitic themes.
Brooks said he could not yet say whether the RJC would once again support whoever runs against Greene in a future primary election, as no one has announced plans to run against the freshman congresswoman who is popular in her district.
He also would not say if the group plans to call for Greene to be ousted from House committees; Earlier this week House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy named Greene to the Education Committee.
Her appointment caused an outcry among Democrats who say that she should be disqualified from serving on the committee over a recently unearthed video of a 2019 incident in which she harassed a survivor of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting, saying the survivor was paid by George Soros, as well as a 2018 Facebook post in which she agreed that the Sandy Hook and Stoneman Douglas shootings were “staged.”…
