Yesterday US Senate Majority Leader Republican Mitch McConnell broke ranks with his outgoing party leader President Donald Trump and told his Senate people Joe Biden is the President-Elect and Kamal Harris is the Vice President-Elect….
Boom!….
The word leaked out to the media and right after several other Senate Republicans went public with their acceptance of the 2020 Election results more than a month later…
The Donald Trump running fiction show is coming to close ….
At least in the US Senate Republican side…
McConnell waited until the technical election results in the Electoral College…
Trump & Co efforts by arm twisting other Republicans on the state level and in the courts to nullify the vote of over 140 million Americans ALL failed…
Donald Trump has lost his job….
McConnell won his election walking away….
In a month we’ll see if he still runs the Senate…
But no matter….
He’ll STILL lead the Republicans there…
Trump will be a private citizen dodging law suits, possible criminal charges and figuring out ways to still get people to send him checks….
Joe Biden will be the President….
And McConnell is talking to Joe, his ole’ Senate buddy finally…
Oh, and he’s talking to House Speaker Pelosi also….
Both along with Senate Minority Leader Democrat Schumer are about to pass several bills in the Congress….
Trump isn’t talking to Democrats anymore….
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is muscling out President Trump as the dominant day-to-day Republican powerbroker on Capitol Hill.
Why it matters: Trump’s power persists, and will live on post-presidency. But McConnell — in his cunningly quiet but methodical way — is flexing his authority. It’s a taste of a tension that will help define the next four years.
With President Trump offstage and in denial, McConnell conferred the Republican Party’s validation of Joe Biden as president-elect, declaring on the Senate floor yesterday: “The Electoral College has spoken. So today, I want to congratulate President-elect Joe Biden.”
- Biden called to thank the Kentucky gentleman for the remarks, and told reporters: “There are things we can work together on. … I’m looking forward to working with him.”
A year-end coronavirus deal is alive — because McConnell says it is. McConnell said Tuesday: “We’re not leaving here without a COVID package.”
In his party’s most consequential turning of the page, McConnell yesterday privately warned GOP senators not to join Trump’s extended assault on the Electoral College results.
- McConnell said on a caucus call that any shenanigans on Jan. 6, when Congress will confirm the result in a joint session, would yield a “terrible vote” for Republicans.
- In a real change of tune for the party, McConnell insisted there’s “zero sentiment” for an objection.
What’s next: Whether Republicans keep the Senate majority or not, McConnell will be the party’s last word on what lives and dies from Biden’s Hill agenda….

Trump’s allies slam Mitch McConnell for congratulating Biden https://mol.im/a/9057747 via @MailOnline. Mitch, 75,000,000 VOTES, a record for a sitting President (by a lot). Too soon to give up. Republican Party must finally learn to fight. People are angry!

Yeah Uncle Mitch is a swell guy!
jamesb says
No❗️😠
McConnell is NOT a ‘nice’ guy…
He’s a guy on a mission
That mission is at odds with what the majority of Americans want and need….
My Name Is Jack says
Nahhhh,
Then why this asskissing post?
McConnell has been nothing but an enabler of Trumps for four years and you want to give him credit for finally acknowledging the damn election result?
I’m so sick of there Republican bootlickers of Trump being praised for either acknowledging reality or just doing their damn job.
That should have bern greeted with nothing but sarcasm.
jamesb says
The post pints out that as was pointed out here McConnell WILL work with Biden and the Dem’s going forward….
The hair on fire BS notwithstanding….
He’ won’t on EVERYTHING….
But he IS ALREADY bending..
My Name Is Jack says
Cow manure.
What’s he “blended” on?
A continuing resolution to keep the government running?
What the Hell did you think he was going to do?
Let the government shut down during a pandemic with a Republican in the White House?Thats stupid.
A Defense Bill?Defense bills always get adopted.Everyone know that.
As for this Covid aid measure?McConnell told his fellow Republicans that Perdue and Loeffker were getting “hammered “on that in Ga.Pure politics and it doesnt include aid to local and state governments which means more layoffs and unemployment.
Yeah if he “bends” anymore and he won’t even be standing up .
Anymore drivel?
jamesb says
Despite ur take no prisoner’s view?
McConnell AND THE Dem’s are gonna pass SEVERAL pieces of legislation shortly ….
With Or NOT with Trump’s approval ….
That has not happened too often in the last few years….

How could anyone who is watching this election not conclude that if the election was slightly closer (such as Trump falling one state short), Trump’s seditious efforts would have succeeded?
McConnell’s attempt to appear statesman-like is about a month too late! He deserves and will receive the scorn of history.

God bless! (No harm in blessing) the Pretender.
But who Pretender is, and who is King,
God bless us all! That’s quite another thing!
