Donald Trump and Mike Pence came in with 232…

Across the country , in state capital’s the vote was announced….

While Trump and his supporters have tried numerous times to go around the centuries old way things are done ?

They have failed….

          Kennedy Rules Out Run for Massachusetts Governor

          Rep. Joseph Kennedy III (D-MA) told the Boston Herald that he’s having “conversations” with people in Joe Biden’s orbit as he mulls life after losing a U.S. Senate primary.

          But he doesn’t want to run for governor in 2022: “I cannot imagine a reality where I am a candidate for office again anytime soon. Having just done that for a year, taking a breather from that and refocusing my time and space I think is what I’m looking forward to doing over the course of the immediate timeline.”

          • President-elect Joe Biden will tap Brenda Mallory to lead the White House Council on Environmental Quality, according to two people familiar with selection, which would put the veteran environmental lawyer in charge of an office with sweeping purview over how the federal government assesses environmental effects of policies, permits and infrastructure projects.

            The Senate-confirmed post would mark a return to the office for Mallory, who worked as general counsel there during the Obama administration. Mallory currently leads the Southern Environmental Law Center’s regulatory practice….

  9. U.S. Sen.-elect Tommy Tuberville (Trump-Alabama) is publicly toying (under pressure and encouragement, everyone is certain, from the Twitter-in-Chief) with the idea of challenging Biden states’ Electoral votes when they’re counted by Congress two Mondays from now.

    The question just struck me, how would he have reacted had the coach of Auburn challenged the score of every loss to Alabama.

    Would NCAA and SEC officials have been loudly and constantly abused for declaring a Fake Score? Would Auburn’s president declare his school the winner and congratulate his victorious team? Would anonymous scorekeepers and statisticians receive death threats from diehard fanatical Auburn loyalists and find nooses on their driveways?

    • Tuberville is a good example of the freshman class of Republicans. And intelligence is not something they are strong in.

      This reminds me why I turned down a request to interview for a job in Alabama a few months ago.

  11. Republican Congressman Ken Buck of Colorado said he will not be getting the COVID vaccine as he thinks it is more dangerous than the disease.

    • As of now, I plan to take the vaccine, and it is not a difficult decision. With that said, I am not convinced that the vaccine is completely safe. But we know for sure that the virus is NOT safe – even if you “recovered” from it.

      I suspect there is a good chance that although we are starting with two different vaccines, in a few months, the medical community may choose to go with only one of them.

      We’ll see.

  18. While I have no doubt that Pelosi will retain the speakership.I personally believe the Democrats would be better served with new leadership.

    Unfortunately most of the leadership positions are being filled by oldsters.

    I would like to see a younger lineup.

    • It is well known that Nancy will retire and that she is staying to get Biden’s agenda through the House. I suspect she will announce her retirement (either as a run up to the 2022 election or to have a special called for her seat). That will allow the Party to pick a new Speaker with her having a say in her successor. But she’ll be here through the coming year.

      Let’s not forget, Nancy was planning on retiring but then Hillary lost. Every good Democrat should be grateful she didn’t back then. She is very much like Barbara Boxer, she wants to come home and be with the grandkids. But Trump was a national emergency and what else could she do. Not bad for a housewife from San Francisco don’t you think?

  23. James, what times does Festivas start with the Airing of Grievances? I would like to participate this year.

      • I honestly didn’t realize that Festivas was on 12-23, But the internet confirms Scott is right.

        Festivus is probably best to be in person than over emails because it takes a lot less time to speak than to write and there are some things I need to get off my chest regarding James. If I speak, I will be able to say more than I can ever write.

        Maybe next year James will accept my invitation to meet in Jersey City for dinner at a restaurant of his choice to participate in the Festivus celebration. If James is willing, This would even give us the opportunity to participate in the feats of strength ceremony.

              • Jack is very definitely persistent, but I’m not sure I would consider him to be stubborn. I would say you are more stubborn than Jack. Perhaps you would even agree with that?

                • James’s problem is that when one tries to educate him ,he lashes out ,frequently purposefully distorting what the person said to set up his response.

                  Often his response is in fact non responsive to the posters original point.

                  In the above description of me, attempts to correct him are labeled “persistent and stubborn.”

                  We have all experienced this and I have no doubt it will continue.

                  A hint that such is coming is when he responds to a poster,”I agree” but then proceeds to elaborate upon his alleged “agreement” until it has turned into an actual disagreement.

                  Then ,if you try to correct him, he will lash out with a host of indecipherable ,emotional words that have little or nothing to do with the original post and frequently off the wall accusations against the one whom he had earlier “agreed” with.

                  Then again, he claimed to “grow” from such exchanges,so apparently they have some value ,strange as the interaction may be.

                  • Yeah – the above exchange is a good example of my personal frustration with him. James says that you make him better (congratulations by the way – he says this about you often), but not in changing your perspective of things, but that you make him better because you are stubborn and persistent.

                    This is a good example in which I find my conversations with him frustrating. I have no idea what he is thinking because the conversation just doesn’t make any sense to me. And the frustrating thing is that when I think I understand his post, I later find out that I didn’t.

                    At least with the other posters I can ultimately figure out where they are coming from if I ask enough questions. But with James, I just get more confused. You are better at understanding him than me.

    According to a new report, ranking officers have discussed what they would do if the president declared martial law.

    President Donald Trump has filed lawsuits after losing the 2020 presidential election and refuses to acknowledge the defeat. A new report claims military leaders have discussed their plan of action if POTUS were to declare martial law toward the last days of his term.

    According to the Washington Post, national security and election law experts assert Trump cannot declare martial law, however are alarmed by the possibility.

    “This is really dangerous stuff to start playing with,” Rachel Kleinfeld, a national security expert at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace told the Post. “You cannot normalize extrajudicial action outside the rule of law and believe democracy will hold. Democracies are fragile, even ours.”

    “If you have martial law,” Kleinfeld continued. “You have total suspension of the Constitution. So that’s a coup, and a coup in this country is not going to happen.”

    Although experts do not believe the unprecedented move is possible, a report claims the military is still preparing for the unknown. According to a Newsweek exclusive story, the Pentagon is on red alert and ranking officers have discussed what they would do if the president decided to declare martial law. One officer anonymously detailed the nature of the planning.

    “I’ve been associated with the military for over 40 years and I’ve never seen the discussions that are being had right now, the need for such discussions,” the unidentified source said.

    Another officer echoed similar sentiments to Newsweek.

    “At this point, there’s no telling what the president might do in the next month,” said a former Northern Command (NORTHCOM) commander, who, according to the outlet is actively advising senior officers. “Though I’m confident that the uniformed military leadership has their heads screwed on right, the craziness is unprecedented and the possibilities are endless.” …

  27. Merry Christmas to the Dog Pack. I understand there was an explosion in Nashville this AM. No casualties or injuries thankfully. Police say looks intentional so being investigated as terrorist act. I briefly lived a few blocks from where this happened.
