Cook Political Report: “Throughout the cycle, Democrats rolled their eyes at Republicans’ incessant ads on these themes. After all, a minuscule number of House Democrats actually identify as ‘democratic socialists’ or have advocated reducing police funding.”
“But relatively few Democratic challengers aired ads inoculating themselves against these attacks. Most chose to stay on ‘offense’ on healthcare and COVID in their messaging. And, many paid the price. Says one GOP consultant, ‘In 2018, Dems were seen as normal. But after the rise of AOC, the primaries and ‘defund the police,’ it was easier to paint them as radical.’”
“Democrats’ genuinely progressive challengers fared the worst.”
Progressive’s on Biden’s Foreign Policy picks….
In a forceful effort to shape a more progressive foreign policy, a coalition of left-leaning and other groups on Friday will deliver a detailed roster of 100 candidates they recommend for senior posts in the Biden administration, according to organizers and a glossy book of resumes prepared for the president-elect.
The effort marks a new phase for progressive groups, which have criticized the ties to arms-makers of some Cabinet picks and have also lobbied the Biden-Harris team to enlist a more diverse set of views in building out its national security staff….

“This is the first comprehensive and coordinated effort by the left to influence the transition to appoint progressives to national security and foreign policy positions,” she added. “The candidates being recommended are not only qualified but are forward-looking, with no corporate ties or revolving door issues which has been a concern with respect to many of the national security appointments being made by the incoming Biden administration.”…

James favorite “Socialist” AOC apparently lost a bid for a seat on the Energy and Commerce Committe to Rep.Kathleen Rice ,also from New York.
I have opined in many occasions that AOC would hardly be noticed if her last name was Smith and she wasn’t an Hispanic female who often says provocative things.
Since her fellow Democrats apparently are more supportive of Ms. Rice ,I suggest that James report the remarks of Rep.Rice more so than those of AOC as being more representative of the Democratic Party .
As an aside,I have never heard of Rep. Rice as I am sure few people outside New York have which is typical of a House backbencher whicH, in reality, is all AOC is.
