The polling has been sparse on the two US Senate runoff election’s in Georgia….
The outfits doing it have been right leaners showing Republican leads…
We now have a new SurveyUSA poll showing leads for Democrats Warnock and Ossoff that are above the margin of error unlike the polls so far….
SurveyUSA does offer a caution that things ARE fluid and that the election two weeks from now could have different results….
The poll has to give Democrats a sigh of relief and hope that they can pull off another Democratic win in a Southern state that mayn’t be a Red state anymore…..
A win for both Democrats would demote Mitch McConnell to US Senate Minority leader and give Chuck Schumer the Majority leader job thus assuring the Biden/Harris admin some Congressional backup in the next US Senate starting a little more than 2 weeks from now….
A new SurveyUSA poll in Goergia finds Jon Ossoff (D) leading Sen. David Perdue (R) in their U.S. Senate runoff, 51% to 46%.
In the other Senate runoff, Raphael Warnock (D) leads Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R), 52% to 45%
From the pollster: “Georgia is a hot mess and no opinion pollster could possibly say what will happen when votes are counted in 2 weeks… Any outcome is possible, including victories for the 2 Republican incumbent US Senators. But: the polling data at this hour does not support that, and heading into Christmas week, Democratic challengers Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock appear to be benefiting — at least momentarily — from a GOP cacophony.”

If the Democrats win in Georgia, the Republicans will claim that it was “corrupt.”
There will be lawsuits galore .
The new Republican mantra?”If we win, democracy works and the voters wishes were expressed. If we lose?It was corrupt ,rigged and stolen.”

Trump’s legal tries have been a complete failure and have actually shown the strength of the American political system including in Georgia….
One would assume/hope THAT will continue ….

The fact that the majority of House Republicans voted to support the seditious Texas lawsuit, shows how tenuous our Democracy is. And this was after a rather large electoral victory. What if the race was closer?

A judge in Fulton County, Ga., dismissed a GOP lawsuit on Thursday that sought to block voters from using absentee ballot drop boxes after normal business hours.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that the lawsuit, brought by Georgia’s Republican Party and the Republican National Committee (RNC), sought to prevent ballots from being received after business hours, typically no later than 5 p.m.
Fulton County Superior Court Judge Kimberly Esmond Adams ruled Thursday afternoon that she did not have jurisdiction in the case due to sovereign immunity laws, the newspaper reported….

Second ruling in Georgia against Republicans trying pull fast ones….
Check out the judge…..
A federal judge in Georgia on Monday ordered two counties to reverse a decision removing more than 4,000 voters from the rolls ahead of the Jan. 5 runoff elections that will decide control of the U.S. Senate.
The judge, Leslie Abrams Gardner — the sister of former gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, a prominent ally of President-elect Joe Biden who has led voter registration efforts across the state —concluded that the counties appeared to have improperly relied on unverified change-of-address data to invalidate registrations in the two counties….

More than 2.1M Georgians have cast ballots in the #gasen runoffs, though the rate has slowed over the Christmas holiday as polls closed. Turnout rate is highest in the six Democratic-controlled congressional districts – and lowest in the NW area where Trump is to visit. #gapol
(Are Democrats gonna pull this off next week?)
