What difference a few years in office has done for Donald Trump and the media….
Back in the beginning of his term?
Trump would say something and the media would just print it as gospel…
Now with his bull shit rep?
The media puts the crazy shit out there with big ole’ exclamation QUESTION MARKS….
Donald Trump did indeed say he’d call it a day with a win if early vote total’s looked good for him….Not if the election was ‘called’ by the vote total’s that come from AP and the media channel’s who get results from the Sec of States and Officials of each state….
THAT got the big ole’ exclamation QUESTION MARKS…
And….
Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden on Sunday responded to a report that President Trump will declare victory early on election night if he has a lead, saying Trump “is not going to steal this election.”
“My response is the president is not going to steal this election,” Biden told reporters before leaving an event for Rep. Brendan Boyle’s (D-Pa.) reelection campaign in Philadelphia.
Biden’s comments came after Axios reported earlier Sunday that Trump told a number of people close to him that he intends to declare victory prematurely if early returns favor him — despite the likelihood that several battleground states could hinge on mail-in ballots counted after Election Day….
So here’s the follow-up from Trump who tends to NOT tell the truth and make stuff up….
President Trump on Sunday denied that he would declare premature victory in the election but signaled that Republicans would mount legal challenges to prevent ballots from being counted after Election Day.
“I think it’s a terrible thing when ballots can be collected after an election. I think it’s a terrible thing when people or states are allowed to tabulate ballots for a long period of time after the election is over because it can only lead to one thing,” Trump told reporters in Charlotte, N.C., criticizing decisions by the Supreme Court to allow ballots to be received after Election Day in several battleground states.
“I think there is great danger to it, and I think a lot of fraud and misuse can take place,” Trump continued, without providing specific evidence for his claim that extending deadlines for receiving ballots could result in fraud….
…
While news networks have sometimes been able to call presidential races on Election Day or the day after, states normally take time to finish counting and certify their results. This year, the number of mail-in ballots has exploded as campaign and election officials encourage people to send in ballots early and avoid polling places during the coronavirus pandemic.
Note…
The piece above mentions certification of results….
Some states take weeks or more to certify voting results….
One doubts VERY MUCH anyone will wait THAT long…..
The race will be called way before all the states actually certify their results….
And the electoral college vote on December 14…..
