Former Vice President Joe Biden’s transition team is reportedly considering installing former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as his administration’s ambassador to the United Nations.
The Washington Post reported on Thursday that a person familiar with the matter said Clinton was “being discussed” as a potential pick because it would purportedly raise the prestige and standing of the U.S. after President Trump’s time in office.
News of Clinton’s potential nomination came as Biden attempted to alter world leaders’ perceptions of the U.S. in foreign relations. “I’m letting them know that America is back. We’re going to be back in the game,” he said.
Clinton famously lost her 2016 presidential bid against Trump and has become a lightning rod for criticism of the left. During the campaign, she testified before Congress over her role in the 2011 attacks on a U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya. That incident has stuck with her as a prominent point line of attack among critics….

One could see Clinton taking the job for short period to help Biden put back together the US Foreign Affairs damage from Trump’s admin…

She’s gone have to rethink her Benghazi actions IN PUBLIC if she wants to have chance getting thru a Republican majority US Senate for confirmation as Biden’s Sec of State something she was denied previously in the Obama admin…
Biden would have to do some heavy lifting to get her confirmed ….(If the Democrats get the 2 Georgia US Senate seats this would not be an issue..)
Otherwise the only significant job open to her in come back as the Biden National Security advisor….

Exactly Jack. Susan Rice repeated the information that she was given immediately following this attack and she reported that information (that was later corrected) to a national television audience. Not sure how she is supposed to “rethink” her actions? But hey, any chance for a little misogyny from our friends here is a good day.
Hillary will have her own problems in a Republican controlled Senate with any confirmation process for any office.
Republicans, and clearly some folks here, have never had a problem assigning blame for blameless acts.
I have followed the conversation her on how Trump will ride into the sunset in January. Silliness as Jack would say. He owns the Republican Party and he will use it for his own purposes.
Rice WILL have to go to the well and explain or ‘rethink’ her action’s in relation to the Benghazi situation….

She is out of the running for ANY GOP confirmation Biden Cabinet job….

When something hits him ,regardless of whether it totally conflicts with his previous position, he starts banging away at the keyboard.
If challenged, he rarely makes a serious effort to defend what he’s typed or offer any explanation of why he’s abandoned previous often long help positions.Rather he retreats to barely comprehensible obfuscation,bold declaration of “standing” by his position(which one is never made clear ) and then ending the whole charade with some virtual laughter and an attempted humorous anecdote.
Jack is totally correct. I am still stuck on how Rice is supposed to appear in the “Well,” presumably the “Well of the House”when she isn’t a Member of the House to explain herself and “rethink” her actions.
Either she does a Q&A in the media or she would have to speak some of the Senators themselves….

The fact is Republicans couldn’t care less about “Benghazi” ( one of the biggest non issues in the political world in recent memory).They will oppose Rice because she was a chief aid to the despised Barack Obama.

Wasn’t Susan Rice the spokeswoman who blamed the Benghazi attacks on an obscure U.S. anti-Muslim video that in fact had nothing to do with motivating the Benghazi consulate’s attackers?

James, I thought (although I didn’t actually hear or read the hearings) that this had been settled negatively when Devin Nunes & co. spent a week on Benghazi — including a whole day with Sec. Clinton — looking for culprits and blame but came up with nothing other than some universally-agreed points about how to avert or mitigate any repetitions.
What is it about Susan Rice’s comments on a Sunday talk show lo! these many years ago that causes you such anxiety?
That doesn’t mean that it’s not possible to have doubts or questions (as you would with anyone else, e.g. the other Dr Rice) about Susan Rice’s abilities, performance, style or policies, but none of those conceivable questions has anything to do with Benghazi.

Rice was NOT in the briefing on Benghazi….
She was told the attacks came as protest that got out of hand and overran the station where the ambassador was
THAT is NOT true…
The attacks where a planned action…
Rice dug in on the protest position…
She was wrong thru NO error of her own…

To NOT address this probably means she will NOT have a cabinet level position in the coming Bide admin, which is waste of her time in government service….
