And ‘influence’ in the Grand ole’ Party when he’s gone from office ….
That will be in a little more than 2 months….
President Donald Trump is planning to establish a leadership PAC, a fundraising arm that could allow him to continue to exert influence in Republican politics even after he leaves office.
“The President always planned to do this, win or lose, so he can support candidates and issues he cares about, such as combating voter fraud,” campaign spokesman Tim Murtaugh said in an emailed statement Tuesday when asked about the PAC.
The fundraising could keep Trump on the political stage — funneling money to his preferred candidates in the midterm elections and beyond. He also can tap the PAC’s money to fund his own political activity — underwriting polling, travel, staff and other expenses….
Note….
Notice the part about Trump can get his hands on the money for HIS activities?
Wait…. Isn’t he supposed to be ‘rich’?
My Name Is Jack says
I imagine he will be quite successful.
A fool and his money is soon seperated.
Take those dumbasses for all they got Don!
jamesb says
Trump is gonna have to be successful…..
I’d say he owes the IRS and NY about 2 or 3 HUNDRED million….
He owes Deuchie Bank a few hundred million and others another few hundred….
I’d think his property around the US and other places will drop in value and he’s owe on them….
Oh, and the feds ARE gonna be looking at the tax fraud case in NY …..
He’s actually gonna be in deep shit on January 21st…..
jamesb says
Damn!….
I forgot the NUMEROUS civil cases on hold from NUMEROUS women!
Ands probably his divorce case I’d think from his third present wife…..
Yea….
He’s in deep shit….
He’s gotta deal with being loser to boot…..
My Name Is Jack says
He can’t use PAC funds to pay off the IRS,New York ot Deutsche Bank.
jamesb says
I know he shouldn’t be Jack….
And WE know he won’t have the control over the DOJ and IRS….
But i think THAT has not sunk in his brain and WTF is gonna straighten him out?
Like i said here…
The guy IS in an alternate universe and he’s gonna fight coming out of it…
Keith says
I agree with Jack and Scott, lots of denial here about Trump – after four years of him showing us who he is.
Did you see those Republicans running from the cameras yesterday when they were asked about his challenge to Biden’s election victory? For every one who has congratulated the President Elect there are ten who remain silent.
I particularly love the fact that they are “privately” sending their congratulations to Biden. Profiles in Courage!
Yesterday Trump essentially took over the RNC and intimidated two U.S. Senators into denouncing their state’s Secretary of State for doing his job.
Tell me again how he doesn’t own the Republicans. He’s their OJ, get out the white Bronco.
bdog says
James I agree he is in deep shit…but in the end his statement stands true…if I shot someone on 5th avenue…people will still vote for me…the Republican Party has become the party of Trump…even if the politicians in office don’t love it, they are too scared to oppose their 70 million base that loves the guy and loves what he stands for…Trump maybe at some point fade, but his legacy and his mantle will be assumed by the next Trump…
I speculate CG will become a Democrat for the remainder of his life as he sees one trump after another trump rise in the ranks of the Republicans and the Republicans he likes get sidelined for the cruder candidates…Seriously they a Qanon chick in the H of R…that’s all you need know…
bdog says
I say next Trump…meaning could be literally his offspring, or someone trumpesque
Democratic Socialist Dave says
And a better-informed, less-delusional, halfway-competent trump successor would be immensely more dangerous.
I don’t think that there are 70 million true-believing MAGA-sporting Trump fanatics, but tens of millions is disturbing enough.
Tens of millions of followers of Joe McCarthy, Barry Goldwater, George Wallace and Richard Nixon still believed in the same things years, even decades, after their leaders’ failure. In Wallace’s case they believed them long after George Wallace himself had moved away from those beliefs.
jamesb says
I do NOT think a Trump will be the 2024 Presidential nominee….
I DO think other Republicans will step all over vestiges of Trump…
My Name Is Jack says
On the contrary, Republicans will be falling all over themselves to ingratiate themselves with Trump and to get his endorsement if he doesn’t run himself.
CG says
I am not becoming a Democrat and they wouldn’t want me.
My Name Is Jack says
I agree you won’t become a Democrat.
It has nothing to do with the Democrats “not wanting” you though.
It’s because you are a Republican ,although you are momentarily estranged due to Trump.
I disagree with you that Trump will simply fade away.I believe that he will remain a major factor for the foreseeable future. His exit from the presidency ,however, will give you the pretext to return,an event that likely will occur shortly after Jan.20.
jamesb says
bdog?
He’s worried about his own ass….
He don’t give a shit about Republicans….
And a year from now he’s STILL gonna be crying g about people taking his fucking money….
My Name Is Jack says
Well Republicans sure “give a shit” about him.
Except for a very few, they are in full support of his machinations as regards this election.
jamesb says
Yea Jack….
They are falling ALL OVER themselves…..
We’ll revisit this a week after Jan 20…
My Name Is Jack says
Yes we will.
I find it weird that you place so much emphasis on Inauguration Day.
Sure Trump will no longer be President. However, you seem to believe that on that date all Trump sycophancy among Republicans will simply cease.
You are in for a rude awakening.
jamesb says
It ALREADY HAS…..
My Name Is Jack says
Delusional
bdog says
I happen to agree with jack James…this love affair for Trump is scary…DSD is right it probably isn’t seventy million, and I would agree with him tens of millions of true believers is a scary enough thought…They will only back the next Trump…Again, I don’t believe Donald Trump will ever run again, but I do believe in 2024 he will play a huge part in influencing who the candidate will be for the Republicans assuming his fat ass is still alive…
I don’t inauguration days is the day that the love affair ends…the Love affair with the true believers will never end.
My Name Is Jack says
Yes that’s my point.
I doubt if Trump runs again but he’s going to still be around and lots of Republicans are going to still be listening to him and lots of would be Republican candidates will still seek his support.
CG says
He’s going to break with the Republican Party publicly sooner or later. He will blame them for their losses and ask his supporters to vote against them. The politicians will have to decide if they like their chances better as Trump Independents or official Republicans. One thing is for sure, GOP primaries will be easier for some to win without the Trump folks taking part in them.
Assuming he is not consumed by legal issues, he will threaten to run for President as an Independent or third party candidate right until any sort of deadline to actually do so.
My Name Is Jack says
Why would Trump leave the Republican Party ?
Oh I think he will blame all sorts of people ,including some Republicans ,but I don’t see him abandoning the Republican Party to become some kind of “Independent.”
Everybody knows the history of those kind of efforts..ultimately fruitless.
I think he remains a Republican and tries to exercise his influence there.
I doubt he runs again. One loss is enough.
However ,he would immensely enjoy having all the would be Republican contenders journeying to “kiss the ring .”
The wild card ,in my view ,are his legal and financial difficulties. That could certainly upend him.
CG says
He will never forgive them for doing better down the ballot than he did. He will never forgive the Republican elected officials and election officials for not standing with him in this. He will never forgive Fox News which is why he will be trying to start a network to oppose them, etc.
It’s pretty obvious where it is headed.
Of course there could be “splinter” Republican groups with different people claiming to be the leader, etc. This happens in local politics within major parties all the time.
My Name Is Jack says
Wishcasting
Scott P says
Remember that CG predicted Trump might quit the GOP during his Presidency and run again as an Independent.
It was laughable then, just as Trump becoming an Indy is laughable now.
The GOP is his home. Why would he leave?
CG says
He lost now, Don’t overthink it.
Scott P says
Not to Republicans he didn’t
jamesb says
Every GOP lawmakers ‘knows it’….
Lets not be silly here….
My Name Is Jack says
Yes let’s not.
Scott is absolutely right.
Most Republicans still are pushing the line that Trump has some legitimacy in pushing these blatant lies.
I don’t give a damn what they”know.” It’s their Actions that are important presently.
jamesb says
I’m sticking to my story…..
Trump the loser will be passse’
jamesb says
BTW?
Joy Reid at MSNBC led off her program tonight pointing out how Republicans are sending a rich guy fund-raising money that he can divert to his own pockets…
