But if those two words were a milestone, the rest of the tweet — and others that followed shortly after — made it clear that Mr. Trump still refuses to abandon the lies about the election being rigged and stolen that he has been spreading since Election Day, inflaming anger among his supporters about his defeat.
In his very next tweet on Sunday, Mr. Trump claimed again that “all of the mechanical ‘glitches’ that took place on Election Night were really THEM getting caught trying to steal votes.” Twitter quickly labeled all of Mr. Trump’s Sunday morning tweets “disputed.”…

It is unclear whether the president’s Twitter acknowledgment of Mr. Biden’s victory is an indication that he intends to offer a more formal concession in the near future. And there was no indication that his tweet would immediately cause the administrator of the General Services Administration to officially allow the Biden transition team to have access to money and information they are due….

Florida’s Pro Virus Governor Ron Desantis is now suggesting that the State legislatures in Pa. and Michigan override the voters of their states and select Trump electors to cast their stars electoral votes.
As I replied earlier to Jack, this is the same Florida G.O.P. (governor and legislature) which did their best to eviscerate the Floridian people’s vote to re-enfranchise ex-felons (disqualified by Jim Crow politicians to thwart the 15th Amendment) by requiring ex-felons to pay all outstanding court fees, fines and costs before registering to vote.
Now Gov. de Santis wants Yankee Republican legislatures in Pennsylvania and Michigan to nullify the votes of their own people.

The legislative leaders have,with various degrees of certainty,indicated that’s their position;however,what Desantis is trying to do is put grassroots pressure on them .
Now I don’t think this will happen.
It does though show the mindset of much of the Republican Party.That is what is troubling.And let’s be clear ,there has been nothing shown that would allow any rational person to believe that there was anything amiss in the electoral process that would in any way cast the least cloud upon Bidens victory.
Accordingly, what we have are persons acting in the full knowledge that Biden did indeed win.
They don’t care.
And that’s what’s troubling.

I don’t believe that at all.The Republican Party has been fundamentally changed in my view.So much so that former President George W Bush and former presidential candidate Mitt Romney are outcasts within their own party and would likely be openly booed at any large meeting of Republicans.

I agree with Jack. For the time being all of the potential 2024 GOP candidates–includimg Trump himself–are parroting the same lines about Biden not being President Elect yet, Trump still has a chabce–somehow. It’s insane.

Yes, it has been fundamentally changed and will be more about sheer power than it ever has been in the past — and that’s a hell of a lot.
Trump will eventually, after the drip of local indictments and revelations from people who worked with him in the White House, go the way of OJ Simpson who had total support from his community until they figured out he really did commit murder.
This will take a long agonizing period of time. But, no one will really stand up to Trump over the next 60 plus days from the Republican Party. He runs the place. And I know how hard that is for some people to read. The end of this book hasn’t been written yet. He still has tricks up his slimy sleeve and still controls his voters.
