President-elect Joe Biden said Thursday he has settled on his choice for Treasury secretary and that he will announce that selection sometime this month.
“You’ll soon hear my choice for Treasury,” Biden told reporters at a news conference in Delaware. “We made that decision, and you’ll hear that just before or just after Thanksgiving.”…

However, Biden also has to factor in the likelihood that his nominee will have to pass muster with Republicans in the Senate. There are two runoff elections in Georgia that will determine which party controls the majority in the chamber, and Democrats need to win both to hold the upper hand.
Even in that scenario, Democrats would not be able to afford anything but party unity to confirm Biden’s choices, requiring a careful triangulation for high-profile positions like the Treasury Department….

Where I agree that there will be some compromise, the way the Republican Party is situated now, they have to please the base they have worked on creating and fomenting for the last 20 years or more…this is the group that Trump tapped and now has the cult Following…if Trump didn’t have a Cult Following the senators would have already went into compromise mode and already would be working on transition, but since they have to walk that thin line…they are boxed in to only acting a certain way…When trump is gone, they won’t just switch over, they will never switch over again, they will shift, but not switch…a big difference and they will be difficult to work with…just look at 8 years of Obama…he got so little done because he was always fighting them…Joe might be white and from the “society of senators” but the senators now have to appease the base because they fear the power not just of Trump, but the power that Trump tapped into that group of supporters…Just because Trump will be gone, those supporters won’t…

The Spending bill and routine spending shit on Defense, SS, entitlements won’t change, in that you are right, that’s why I said there will be compromise, but to get anything meaningful done to change America and make improvements, that wont happen with the Repblicans the way they are.
Look at the Virus we hit 2k deaths, we can’t even agree on a national strategy to save lives…Just Yesterday Pence Said America has never been more prepared for this virus…That was complete Bullshit…but yet a good amount of people support that and to fight something like this you can’t win if you don’t have unity…Even with the Vaccine, you will have tons of people fight that (and that will be on both sides, not just Republicans). At this point it seems like the Vaccine is the only hope for the Virus and that is still months off from being widely available…My numskull boss is going to Florida for the Holiday…They are 100 percent open for business, no restrictions…I don’t wish her or her family harm, but there is some justice if they catch it and have some health complications for idiotic behavior…
