Biden and his running mate, Sen. Kamala D. Harris (D-Calif.), are receiving briefings in Wilmington, Del., Thursday afternoon on the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the state of the economy, according to a campaign official.
“These are the regular public health and economic briefings the vice president has received since March,” said the official, who was not authorized to speak publicly about Biden’s schedule and commented on the condition of anonymity.
On Wednesday, surging caseloads in nearly every state pushed the U.S. tally to a record 104,004 new coronavirus infections. Biden’s campaign said the former vice president tested negative Thursday.
Biden waved to a group of supporters as he arrived at Wilmington’s Queen Theater for the briefings. Reporters were kept about 50 feet away, and the former vice president did not stop to take any questions….
