Ya just can’t do stuff like this and get away with it….
They have become rightwingnut celebrities ….
Their Governor has indicated that they will be pardoned if found guilty…
Lawlessness rewarded ala’ Trump, eh?
A grand jury on Tuesday indicted the St. Louis couple who displayed guns while hundreds of racial injustice protesters marched on their private street.
Al Watkins, an attorney for the couple, confirmed to The Associated Press the indictments against Mark McCloskey, 63, and his wife, Patricia McCloskey, 61. A spokeswoman for Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner declined comment.
The McCloskeys, who are both attorneys, have become folk heroes among some conservatives. They argue that they were simply exercising their Second Amendment right to bear arms, and were protected by Missouri’s castle doctrine law that allows the use of deadly force against intruders. The case has caught the attention of President Donald Trump, and Republican Missouri Gov. Mike Parson has said he will pardon the couple if they are convicted.
The McCloskeys also were featured speakers on the first night of the Republican National Convention. They’ve accused the “leftist” Democratic St. Louis leadership for their plight….

Missouri is one of the ten or so states that elect their Governors in presidential years (Vt & NH do it every even-numbered year).
So will pardoning (or promising to pardon) these clowns help or hurt Gov. Parson’s re-election chances?
Scott P says
Honesrly it’s a wash. Despite the McCloskeys living in the city of St. Louis (NOT suburbs as they said in tbeir RNC address) they are terribly unpopular with city and even many suburbanites.
Parson bringing them up will likely gin up vote against him in St. Louis City and County.
Again ironically this might get him a few more votes from his rural base as somebgun worshipping Republicans in the poorest of Ozark counties see the McCloskeys and their over 1 million dollar home as “victims”

I walked by the McCloskeys a couple weeks ago abd most of their neighbors had Biden-Harris and/or BLM signs.
Not surprising as that is an area that regularly votes 80% or more Democratic.
Democratic gubernatorial nominee Nicole Galloway has upped her sign game lately so Person’s comments in support of these two will probably lead to more Galloway signs going up amongst their neighbors.

Update….
Missouri Senate Candidate Pleads Guilty to Waving Gun
Mark McCloskey, who along with his wife waved guns at protesters last year who marched past the couple’s mansion, struck a plea agreement by pleading guilty to a misdemeanor and agreeing to give up his weapons, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
McCloskey (R), who is running for U.S. Senate, will pay a $750 fine and face no jail time.
Missouri Gov. Mike Parson (R) previously said he would pardon the couple.
