Progressives and the media have been asking Joe Biden about adding US Supreme Courts justices in response to the warp speed seating of Conservative Judge Amy Barrett to the court…
Adding more people to the court from the left would balance and change the political tilt of the court…
But?
Ole’ Joe Biden REALLY isn’t interested right now in taking THAT step….
He’s stuck….
A week and half till the election?
Needing the progressive vote….
He’s dancing….
Setting up a commission with both parties people and experts on the court is just really confirming he isn’t gonna pack the court unless he’s forced to his fellow Democrats in Congress…
Oh, and saying politics shouldn’t be part of the court is NOT about the reality of the court….Republicans just showed you own the Presidency and the Senate you own the court picks and placement ….
Biden said in an interview excerpt released Thursday that he would create bipartisan commission to study the court system “because it’s getting out of whack.”
The Democratic presidential nominee, who has avoided answering whether he would want to expand the Supreme Court by adding more justices, said in the interview with “60 Minutes” that the commission would look at that issue among others and make recommendations in 180 days.
“What I will do is I’ll put together a national commission of bipartisan commission of scholars, constitutional scholars, Democrats, Republicans, liberal, conservative,” Biden told interviewer Norah O’Donnell. “And I will ask them to over 180 days come back to me with recommendations as to how to reform the court system because it’s getting out of whack.”
Pressed by O’Donnell about whether the study will focus on “court-packing,” Biden suggested it would be far broader and “go well beyond packing.”
“The last thing we need to do is turn the Supreme Court into just a political football, whoever has the most votes gets whatever they want,” he said. “Presidents come and go. Supreme Court justices stay for generations.”
The full interview is scheduled to air Sunday.
Biden has faced calls from many in his party’s left wing to support an expansion of the Supreme Court in response to the Republican push to confirm Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination before the election….

Told ya so…..
…Progressives at leading left-wing groups panned the idea.
“We don’t need to be promised a nice report about reform delivered to the White House, we need Vice President Biden to assure Americans that he will take bold action to ensure our courts don’t remain dominated by a right-wing fringe installed by Mitch McConnell to attack abortion rights, destroy healthcare reform, and dismantle our democracy,” said Yvette Simpson, the CEO of the progressive group Democracy for America.
Adam Green, the cofounder of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, said there’s no way Republicans on the proposed panel will join progressives in the effort to “restore balance” to the courts….

This is Biden’s answer to ‘packing the court’…
The ole’ make a Commission move….
The Biden administration is moving forward with the creation of a bipartisan commission to study reforms to the Supreme Court and the federal judiciary.
The commission will be housed under the purview of the White House Counsel’s office and filled out with the behind-the-scenes help of the Biden campaign’s lawyer Bob Bauer. Its specific mandate is still being decided. But, in a signal that the commission is indeed moving ahead, some members have already been selected, according to multiple people familiar with the discussions….
