A new Quinnipiac poll finds Joe Biden leading Donald Trump in the presidential race nationally, 52% to 42%.
Key finding: By a 58% to 38% margin, likely voters say the country is worse off than it was four years ago.
Said pollster Tim Malloy: “With six in ten likely voters feeling the country has lost ground, the president stares down a big gap to make up in a short time.”

Someone said it yesterday, but this data looks a lot more like 2018 than 2016 to me. A clear, but not ginormous split between the popular vote & majority of seats (or electoral college). And with the Democrat up nationally in the high single digits.
This Q poll confirms Biden doing better from the last two weeks conventions….
Biden may not have gotten a big bounce …
But has enough of one to keep his margin against Trump intact…
There are polls that range from a Biden lead of 7% to double digits….
Biden just needs to keep this going for another 8 weeks in the States….
Donald Trump IS working HARD make Joe Biden’s numbers stay good….
I’ll have more polling updates later but Joe Biden IS. doing good off of last week nationally and in the states even though he hasn’t been campaigning around…

It’s been a big day of polls, and Biden closes it out strong:
–Fox has Biden up by 8 and 9 in WI, AZ, up 4 in NC, all among LVs.
–CNN/SSRS has Biden up 8 among national RVs. Quinnipiac with Biden up 10 among LVs.
Other than Monmouth, not many signs of a big shift post-RNC.
Also It’s IS looking more like Chuck Schumer has a excellent chance of becoming the US Senate Majority leader…

My advice to Democrats: ignore polls. Organize, mobilize, register and #VOTE like your life, your job, your future, and your democracy depend on it. Because they do.

Individual polls don’t really count…
It’s the TRENDS….
And national polls don’t count as much as state polls….
And Joe Biden is doing pretty damn good in all of this….
But there are 8 more weeks to go…..

Then why do you spend an inordinate amount of time posting them?

Often the polls you post have weird variations from poll to poll and the “trends” aren’t plain to see.
Rather than all this rigamarole ,a much simpler statement would be..
“A poll is a snapshot in time.”
Simple,direct and accurate.
Anything else?Pure speculation on your part.
The problem with a lot of these state polls is that they have very high MOEs ,sometimes over 5 points, and they are literally all over the place.
In my view they are essentially worthless.

We are, in 35 minutes or so, 2 months away from Election Day 2020. The President is down by about 8 nationally and trailing by say ~5 in the tipping pt state. The last 3 presidents trailing after the conventions went down to defeat.

New detail in WaPo: In one account, Trump told senior advisers that he didn’t understand why the U.S. government placed such value on finding soldiers missing in action because they had performed poorly and gotten caught and deserved what they got.
Then who’s going to retrieve DJT from the pokey once he’s apprehended and detained ?
And when that happens, it will just be because of his poor performance, so he’ll deserve it.
