Featuring Jeff Flake and more Republican ex-Congressional members ….
The Biden campaign is playing offence is signing up Republicans who have no love for their party leader…
Trump may have overwhelming support from Republican voters…But more and more lawmakers out of Congress are not following the party line…
Heck of way to bring in a party convention….
The “Republicans for Biden” program is part of the [Biden] campaign’s national effort to engage Republicans who plan to vote for the Democratic nominee in November.
The Biden campaign is urging Republicans who plan to support Biden in the general election to encourage other Republicans to organize in their communities by using their “Vote Joe” app and other tools. A Biden campaign official said the app leverages existing relationships among supporters and allows them to identify and engage new supporters and potential persuadable supporters.
The campaign also sends mass text messages from the app encouraging volunteers and providing updates on events.
The Democratic National Convention, which concluded last week, also featured appearances from a number of Republicans — including former Republican Ohio Gov. John Kasich, former GOP Rep. Susan Molinari of New York, former Republican New Jersey Gov. Christine Todd Whitman and others.
Trump allies countered that the parade of Republicans included several who either were known Trump detractors or who had backed Democrats in other recent elections.
Trump campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh dismissed the latest announcement in a statement to Fox News: “….

“Trump may have overwhelming support from Republican voters…”
Uh, see James there an election coming up.The ONLY thing that matters is votes.
As to these Republican politicos?Good for them.Shows they are people of integrity.Their support is appreciated. Will it have a significant effect on those voters?Doubtful.

More GOP defections…
Over 150 former aides and staffers to the Republican Party’s last three standard-bearers — former President George W. Bush and Sens. John McCain and Mitt Romney — are throwing their support behind Joe Biden, they announced Thursday.
Each of the three political alumni groups, all acting as separate organizations, released statements condemning President Trump and, at times, denouncing his prior feuds with their former bosses.
The three leaders, all lifelong conservatives, have each had their own well-documented past with the current commander-in-chief.
“Working for John McCain was an honor, and his example of public service remains a lasting influence on us. His motto, ‘country first,’ and his frequent call on Americans to serve causes greater than our self-interest were not empty slogans like so much of our politics today. They were the creed by which he lived and he urged us to do the same. It is in that spirit that we are supporting his friend, Joe Biden,” a statement from the McCain alumni group read.
The group is made up of over 100 former campaign and Senate staffers from McCain’s nearly 35-year political career, ranging from junior aides to chiefs of staff….

Once again?
Good for these folks.
Shows they don’t believe in having a gangster in the White House and that there are things more important than the Republican Party.
Having said that?Trump will receive 90-95 % or so of the votes of self described Republicans.
Scott P says
Yeah I think where these officials endorsing Biden moves votes it is with independents, not Republicans. And by independents I mean true ones–not those who for whatever reason don’t like to call themselves Republicans but vote for just about every Republican on the ballot–especially for President.
Democratic Socialist Dave says
After all those futile, impatient, self-defeating pages and pages of unreadable, angry posts trying to browbeat CG into voting for Biden (since CG wants Trump to lose), you can now find that National Review’s editor, Rich Lowry, takes a mirror position: he wants Trump to defeat Biden without being able to bring himself to endorse Trump. So he and CG essentially cancel each other out.
See Lowry’s interview with Margaret Hoover on Firing Line this weekend:

Firing Line with Margaret Hoover
Rich Lowry wants Trump to win over Biden w/ reservations.
“I’m never going to be wearing a MAGA hat. I’m never going to excuse the inexcusable,” he says. “I still believe in some nuance and complexity. But Margaret, it’s occasionally a little lonely here on my little island.”
Zreebs says
So Dave, is there anyone who Wants Trump but who doesn’t believe it is an appropriate time to register and vote for Trump will cancel out your non vote for the reason you gave?
I assume that is that just a case of being futile, impatient and self defeating? Advantage Trump.
Democratic Socialist Dave says
I was talking about CG’s non-vote.
Could I legally vote for Biden, there’s no question that I would, and I think DSA’s (at least national DSA’s) refusal to endorse Biden to be irresponsible sectarianism.
In fact I find it rather more blameworthy since it comes from the opposite direction, rather than some fuzzy ambivalence in between; in whatever way DSA might be dissatisfied with Joe Biden, there’s no question that it would find four more years of Trump to be far worse.
jamesb says
The same would apply for some on left DSD…
In the end?
Joe Biden WILL have to come down more for the cops and peaceful protest…
In the end…
Joe Biden will be about compromise , which is who he is….
Some progressive’s will find that hard to accept…
But the alternative as u pint out is FAR WORST….
And NOT VOTING just helps Trump and Republicans…
Things are very simple actually …
ronnieevan says
This is truly irresponsible propaganda.
My Name Is Jack says
This is funny…
You honestly believe the Republicans are going to “compromise” with Joe Biden?
I would say you are naive but that is just downright Stupid!
And I see your Trumplike hatred of “progressives” continues.
You do understand that if Biden is to win this election ,we need the vote of every “progressive” out there?
ronnieevan says
James’s misinformation campaign on the Democratic party should have a “warning” attached like Trump’s tweets.
jamesb says
Explain RE?
ronnieevan says
It is one thing for you to hate progressives, it is a different thing for you to use your platform to constantly misinform on the dynamics of the Democratic party and the role progressives play within it. I would always just label your misinformation as propaganda. It is always the same propaganda, it doesn’t change.
jamesb says
Again…
As I just explained ….
I do NOT Hate progressives….
As a mostly moderate I have issues with some the Sanders ‘free’ stuff wants…
Again?
Some of their wants will NEVER happen even with a Democratic majority in Congress…
And it has been good that they have argued for their wants in the primaries which is how the system works…
But myself and most in the Democratic Party are pragmatic ….
Bernie Sanders didn’t have a prayer after Nevada….
Misinformation?
How?
jamesb says
Lets’ also deal with this…
Which has been going on for 4 years….
There HAS been a Democratic civic war going on…
Sanders is 0-2…
The Democratic Party and America is just NOT there….
Not NOW anyways….
jamesb says
And Jack IS right….
So is Bernie…
Joe Biden NEEDS their vote….
jamesb says
I believe that Joe B iden ISb going try his best to be who was during his time in the US Senate….
Yes….
Obama started out trying that and the Republicans out manueveerd him…
Biden IS who he is…
He’s need some Senate votes also…
Yea Jack I believe that…
On the progressives?
Bernie himself told them to get in line…
Those who don’t vote or actually vote for Trump ARE the problem and screw’m
I do NOT hate progressives…
I DO think some of their wants are in dream land…
Some of their wants are fine and part of them I hape Biden , with their votes, can and Willa act on them…
But Jack?
Right NOW?
Enough with the fighting AGAINST Joe Biden by the LEFT!
Get Biden elected then we’ll talk…
jamesb says
CG should come back to argue his point of view here with out the personal stuff…
It adds to the discussion ….
I wonder if he will stick to anti-Trump in the end…
Supporting the guy will probably cost the Republicans their Senate majority…
My Name Is Jack says
I’m not sure exactly what his “point of view” was?
He seemed to be defending a Republican Party that no longer exists and I think that, despite his words to the contrary, was frustrating him.
jamesb says
Then he should do as a increasing amount of Republican have done…
Be against Donald Trump the man….
PERIOD…
Be against HIS policies NOT the basic Republican polices …
Ur senator Tim Scott did that in his first 2/3’s of his speech before he messed up the end…
