They are helping Donald Trump get his people to come out and vote….
Fighting against the cops is NOT gonna do much of anything positive across the America for protestors and images of the confrontations HURT their causes politically going into the November 3 general elections….
Peaceful protest is fine….
Rioting is NOT….
It IS hurting Democrats…..The people who COULD do something….
It is losing support….
And it is being used to put the virus issue to the side…..
Getting rid of the cops isn’t supported by MOST Americans ….
Certainly NOT Black’s who NEED the cops to keep them safe….
Getting rid of ‘Bad’ cops will get done by having political power….
NOT fighting cops in the streets and having the National Guard coming to back the cops up and stopping people from tearing everything up…

James could care less about injustice of any kind. He only cares when it would help or hurt his preferred candidate. And this “stop the violence because it will hurt Biden” can only be eFfective in his mind.

Well, I agree that the violence really doesn’t help anything, including police reform or social equality, let alone Democratic candidates.

I am not “waiting” for you to say anything. You post way too much without having anything to say. So you just resort to making shit up to try to justify what you want to believe.
I feel hatred to fascists – which is what I genuinely think the GOP is becoming. It is happening relatively slowly, so I don’t think that most Democrats or people such as yourself who claim to self-identify with the Democratic Party even see it. The GOP Convention can feature dozens of black men and it can even include an immigration ceremony, but this is just show for political purposes. The GOP knows exactly what it is doing. And Trump will continue to do what he wants to do and there is no one who has the power to stop him – and he knows it. Trump has a better chance of “winning” (if you call it that) this election than he did 4 years ago because now he has more powers at his disposal – whether or not they are legal or ethical.
I also have little tolerance for liars or people who feel they need to distort to achieve their objectives. I don’t believe for a second that all Republicans are liars, just as I don’t believe for a second that people who claim to be Democrats can’t be liars too.
You seem to think that I enjoy arguing with you. I don’t – which is why I often take long absences from this site. When I talk politics in real life, I am respectful and am continuously well aware of the importance of the relationship. When I talk politics on this site, I will say what I think – and I care relatively little about the relationship. But Ultimately, what is the point? I would like to be under the illusion that my voice on this site can impact change. Perhaps with some people under some circumstances. But with you?

I tend to agree with almost all of what you say. Even when we disagree, I feel that you make good points.
In thinking about the biggest area that we have disagreed, I don’t think you fully appreciate the cost savings of national health insurance. Health coverage doesn’t require ten digit CEO salaries, or profits to shareholders, or glossy marketing materials, or some other expenses that private carriers must pay. national health coverage in other countries has shown it can effectively provide free testing and will some day provide free vaccines that will pay for themselves in reducing future healthcare costs. In the long term, I truly believe that everyone should easily be able to have coverage cheaper than we do today. Obamacare should only be seen as an expensive short term solution. If the US must have the most expensive healthcare system in the world, we must insist on something better than we have now. And I apologize for simplifying the argument. I know your beliefs are more nuanced than what I implied above.
But on most issues, I have found that any disagreements we have had are very minor. And thank you for challenging me when you thought I said something foolish. A lot of times, I know you were right.
I expect to stop posting for awhile, but I assume that one day the sprit will likely move me to post again. It has in the past. Until then, take care my friend.

Trump has been a fireworks of corrosiveness. And now, like with all fireworks, we are being subjected in these last two months to the part where they all go off at once. Trump will want to tear down the system if he can’t keep his grip on it. Like all authoritarians, he is unable to voluntarily pass on the power and privilege he has become accustomed to.

Why?
Because there are a lot of people who tell pollsters they “ disapprove” of Trump who ultimately will still vote for him and it’s the reason that approval/ disapproval number isn’t a good barometer when trying to forecast the election result.
That’s particularly true for Republicans and so called Republican leaning “ independents.”
Presently,I look for Trump to receive a percent of the popular vote similar to last time.The key will be the electoral vote of course.The problem with predicting that is most state polls contain large numbers of “undecideds”
