The effects of the virus on American’s economy….

White House chief economic adviser Larry Kudlow has been known to put his foot in his mouth, particularly over the past six months as the Trump administration has struggled to thwart the Covid-19 pandemic, but Tuesday night’s performance was a uniquely questionable.
Consider the following statements:
– “We still have a lot of hardship, and we have a lot of heartbreak in many areas. But we’ve hit a turning point. And now the recovery has begun.”
– “There’s a big change in attitude happening. The American Spirit is picking up.”
– “Get ready for a big third and fourth quarter, folks.”
– “Biden is backing over $3 trillion in tax hikes. You’re coming out of a pandemic, and he wants to raise taxes? That’s crazy.”
What do they have in common? All of these statements from Kudlow assume that Covid-19 has come and gone; that the threat is behind us; that America is out of the woods and needs to focus on rebuilding.
In fact, we’re not out of the woods — there is no sign of a significant, sustained downturn in the spread of Covid-19. And the reality is, when Americans are polled, majorities don’t believe we’re in the rebuilding stage. Rather, they want the government to focus on—and do much better with—efforts to slow the virus.
The administration was dealt a brutal election-year hand with Covid-19. Trump can be excused for wanting to shift the country’s attention from 180,000 deaths to signs of economic recovery. But the truth is, there can be no real recovery without first containing the virus. And every time someone like Kudlow pretends that we’ve turned the corner — when we clearly have not — he’s doing a disservice not only to his boss but to the American public….
The Trump people ARE making sure they roll out Latino’s….

But of course these people have nothing to do with the Trump immigration issues that occurred from the jump and have been hidden from the media these days….

No moderates or voices of Democrats other than those who now proclaim absolute fealty to Trump.
No wonder CG made himself scarce.
All of his predictions that Trump would distance himself from “establishment Republicans”. That he would find common ground with Democrats. That his “populism” would he rejected by Republicans and embraced by Democrats. None of that came close to happening.
He could not have been more wrong.
And I’m sure he hates it.
With the exception of James, most of the rest of us predicted that Trump would put his stamp on the GOP and remake the party at least to some extent. But I never would have predicted it could possibly have gotten this bad. I did not believe 4 years ago that our democracy was in danger. I could not have imagined that in order for a Republican to win a primary, they had to publicly support Trump. I could not have imagined how easily Republicans were willing to change so much of what they previously stated they believed in order to stay in power. And how they would continuously defend everything Trump did or remain silent.
The only thing Republicans now complain about Trump is that he tweets too much. But it is those tweets that help shore up his support, so he won’t stop these.
So what has the GOP become? Seperate immigrant children from their parents and put them in cages. Publicly admire authoritarian leaders and attack foreign leaders who are sounding the alarm on global warming. Tell us that that there were very good people on both sides of the neo-Nazi rally. Publicly admire people who bring their guns to protests. And if you can’t publicly support all this, then do so by staying silent or by not voting.
After all Scott, he still believes George W. Bush will go down in history as a great President. So there’s wrong, and then there’s wrong.
Well this is kind of insane. Trump wants both he and Biden to be drug tested before their debates. He is admitting that Biden performed much better in debates as the primary season wore on and he thinks it is due to drugs. You can’t make this shit up!
