There will be no pomp and ceremonial big crowed get togethers this time around….
Joe Biden now plans to accept the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination in a Delaware speech — not in Milwaukee, which had been the plan for months, officials tell Bloomberg.
The Washington Post has a statement: “After ongoing consultation with public health officials and experts — who underscored the worsening coronavirus pandemic — the Democratic National Convention Committee announced today speakers for the 2020 Democratic National Convention will no longer travel to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in order to prevent risking the health of our host community as well as the convention’s production teams, security officials, community partners, media and others necessary to orchestrate the event.”

President Trump told Fox & Friends that he’s likely to deliver his Republican convention speech from the White House.
Richard Painter: “Here we go… again. A staged political event at the White House. Every White House staff member who participates in this violates the Hatch Act.”

I do not know if it has ever been done at the White House, but FDR did accept his fourth nomination at a Naval base, which would seem to have the legality issues.

It looks like he probably gave his 1940 acceptance speech at the White House.
I do not know if this would be in the same category or not, but I know that Gerald Ford conceded the 1976 election (though he had lost his voice and Betty had to do it), from the White House.

Much ado about nothing.
The Hatch Act is violated daily by both parties.
