Donald Trump IS doing this in PLAIN SIGHT….
He knows he’s got a free reign until January 20th….
This is an effort at voter suppression on a whole new level…
He doesn’t care about the millions of Americans using the service and the people who handle the mail….
And some of these people will still vote for the guy….
President Donald Trump said Thursday he opposes funding for the U.S. Postal Service and election security grants in an effort to stymie mail-in voting for the upcoming presidential election.
“[Democrats] want three and a half billion dollars for something that will turn out to be fraudulent, that’s election money, basically. They want three and a half billion dollars for the mail-in votes, okay, universal mail-in ballots,” Trump told Fox Business Network’s Maria Bartiromo, in response to a question on talks on the next coronavirus relief package. “They want 25 billion dollars — billion — for the Post Office.”
“Now they need that money in order to have the Post Office work so it can take all of these millions and millions of ballots,” he continued. “By the way, those are just two items, but if they don’t get those two items that means you can’t have universal mail-in voting.”
Trump’s pronouncement marks the latest escalation in his war on mail-in voting. He has, without evidence, claimed that mail-in voting is ripe for fraud and will lead to a “rigged” election.
Election security experts say cases of electoral fraud are exceedingly rare in the United States. Most acknowledge that mail-in voting has a slightly higher risk of fraud, but it isn’t widespread.
“Saying that voter fraud and election crimes are rare is not to say they’re nonexistent,” Rick Hasen, an election law expert at the University of California Irvine, said in an interview in early July. “When election crimes do occur, absentee balloting is a more common way it occurs” than through in-person voting, he said, but “it seems to be a very rare problem.”
“It is really hard to try to swing a local election by tampering with absentee ballots. Because such a scheme easily comes to the attention of voters whose ballots are missing or recorded as voting and it potentially involves a scheme among many people,” Hasen said. “It is that much harder to do so with a larger election.”…
Note….
One thing?
This guy IS showing us the power of a President to go rouge…
Update…9:42Pm 8/13/2020
For the second time as a Palm Beach County voter, President Donald Trump has requested a vote-by-mail ballot ahead of Florida’s primary election on Tuesday.
And the president who has just spent the past few weeks excoriating mail-in votinghas less than a week to cast it.
The request for himself and first lady Melania Trump came Wednesday, the Palm Beach County elections website shows.
The ballot would have been picked up, not mailed to his Palm Beach private club, Mar-a-Lago, because the deadline to send out ballots has passed…

Twenty-nine states require absentee ballots to be received by Nov. 3 and three states require absentee ballots to be received by Nov. 2. A total of thirty-two states require these ballots to be received by Nov. 2 or 3 to be eligible to be counted. The other 18 states require that ballots be postmarked by election day or, for some, by the day before. By taking measures to slow the mail, Trump is seeking to disqualify absentee ballots in the 32 states where they have to arrive by election day or before to qualify.
In conjunction with this, a Politico/Morning Consul poll found that just under two thirds of Democrats would prefer to vote by mail, in contrast with more than two thirds of Republicans who would prefer to vote in person. Reason for Trump to gum up the mail delivery system.

Trump is scared of this….
A strong majority of voters support having an option to vote by mail in November over fears they could contract the coronavirus by going in-person to a polling station, a new poll finds.
The latest Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll survey finds that 70 percent of voters support a mail-in option, including 88 percent of Democrats, 71 percent of independents and 50 percent of Republicans.
Seventy-five percent of voters said they’re at least a little bit concerned about catching the coronavirus if vote-by-mail is not an option…
