President:
Census: Some US Census numbers are out, and the breakdown by demographics is interesting to chew over as we prepare for the more official 2020 census numbers next year.
Economist/YouGov: An Economist/YouGov poll has Biden up 49-41 nationwide.
Jacksonville: This poll of the city of Jacksonville has Biden up 48-41 over Trump in a city that was virtual tie in 2016. Jacksonville seems to be on a long-term leftward trend (Bush won it by 16 points in 2000 for example), but Trump needs to get a big margin out of the greater Jacksonville area to be competitive in Florida and this is not a great sign for him.
Morale: This piece is a very interesting look into the minds of some Black Democrat voters, and a demonstration of their frustration with their party that they don’t see as receptive to their interests. There is a sense of resignation that their overall situation isn’t going to change that is massively dragging down their morale, which was always one of the biggest risks for the Democrats with nominating the less-exciting-than-burnt-popcorn Biden. The most interesting piece of information here though, is that there is a strong belief among these voters that no what the polls say Trump is going to win re-election.
PPP: A PPP national poll has Biden up 53-42 on Trump. PPP so salt to taste, but this is in line with the polling average right now.
Siena: A Siena poll of the 2020 election has Biden up 50-36 points on Trump. This is the worst poll for Trump in a while, and even though the rest of the polls released yesterday are better for him this highlights just how bad his polling situation has gotten….
