Donald Trump Jr. is the latest of the growing list of Republicans who have embraced mask wearing something Donald Trump has been spotted doing just once….
With virus infections climbing in some states in the South and West , and some of those people fighting the means to stop the virus, thru the simple actions of mask wearing….Things are getting worst by the day…
Trump Jr.’s father seems to NOT grasp that wearing the mask is something he should be embracing…..By not doing so?…It isn’t helping him…It’s hurting him politically….
After moving the Republican convention because the Trump people didn’t want to have their convention people wear masks?
They have agreed to Jacksonville, Florida’s request that masks be worn at that event…
Donald Trump Jr. said Tuesday that masks should be worn during the Republican National Convention in Jacksonville, Fla., with the president’s eldest son stating the precaution is “not too complicated” to help ensure the event is carried out safely and appropriately.
“We’re still two months out from the convention, so we have a little bit of time to get everything in order,” Trump Jr. told Fox Business’s Maria Bartiromo on Tuesday morning. “We’re going to make sure that everything is done in a safe and appropriate manner.”
“You know, I don’t think it’s too complicated to wear a mask or wash your hands, follow basic hygiene protocols,” he continued. “We’re just going to do whatever we can to make sure that the people that are there in attendance as well as the people from the [Republican National Committee] and the campaign are safe, enjoyable and have an awesome time.”
The GOP convention is scheduled for Aug. 25-27 in Florida, where state officials have been forced to roll back reopening efforts due to a recent spike in coronavirus cases.
Trump Jr.’s remarks come a day after officials in Jacksonville announced that residents and visitors in the area would be required to wear masks indoors and in public spaces to help curb the spread of the coronavirus.
The Republican Party announced earlier this month that it would hold the main events for this year’s convention, including President Trump‘s speech accepting the GOP nomination, in Jacksonville.
Republican leaders have increasingly called for the public to wear face coverings amid the recent surge in cases across a number of states, though Trump has resisted wearing one himself…
Surgeon General Jerome Adams on Tuesday implored Americans, and young Americans in particular, to wear masks as lawmakers and public health officials increasingly seek to break down partisan barriers about the use of face coverings.
Adams specifically sought to address arguments among some conservatives that requiring masks is an infringement on personal freedoms and civil liberties, arguing that wearing a mask will actually restore freedoms more quickly amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“Wear a face covering when you go out in public. It is not an inconvenience. It is not a suppression of your freedom. It actually Is a vehicle to achieve our goals,” Adams said during a briefing with members of the White House coronavirus task force….

Coronavirus Spreads Into the Red States
An Associated Press analysis of coronavirus case data “shows the virus has moved — and is spreading quickly — into Republican areas, a new path with broad potential political ramifications.”
“States that President Trump won in the 2016 election account for about 75% of the new cases, a trend that has accelerated since the end of May. Counties that voted for Trump in 2016 have seen cases and deaths rising — now seeing an impact nearly even with counties that voted for Democrat Hillary Clinton.”

As they spout of about the First Amdndment.
Freedom of speech is not absolute .
We all know the maxim, no one has the right to yell “fire in a crowded theater.”
Why?Because it would cause panic and potential injury.
Explain to me the difference in not wearing a mask during the greatest health crisis of our lifetime when that act causes the spread of a disease that sickens and kills thousands?
There Republican Governors hiding behind that illogic are cowards and facilitators of the spread of coronavirus .They deserve nothing but cold contempt and loud condemnation.

Again on the GOPer governors?

Refusal to wear a mask is worse than speeding. You are not only putting yourself at risk, you are putting others at risk too. But by not wearing a mask, you might directly or indirectly cause dozens of people to become infected that would not otherwise be infected.
That mindset is pure Republican selfishness in which they make decisions without regard to others; that mindset is pure evil.

Yea indeed Z on mask wearing avoidance

It should be a criminal offense with severe penalties.
I would take great joy in prosecuting such cases.
So far most of the mask ordinances only carry a small civil fine.

Junior said this the day after the Republican mayor of Jacksonville, FL (GOP convention site) instituted a mandatory city-wide indoor mask-wearing order. They are all getting on board….The mayor did this after the Coast Guard and Navy, which have Jacksonville facilities, decided to institute a similar order.

Good for Jr…..
Probably had more to do with running out of places to host the convention and looking bad dancing around….

Essentially Jacksonville is doing what Charlotte was requiring.
The question occurs, the why was the convention moved to begin with?
Oh that’s right,Trump “knew” the virus would “fade away” and Charlotte would be left looking the fools.
So the Republicans high tail it to Jacksonville where ,to their surprise ,polls showed that most residents didn’t want the convention and now the city leaders are telling them essentially what the North Carolina authorities did.
Trump?Hes now saying he “hopes” the virus fades away.
Don’t we all?

I love that the RNC had to pay for two venues (canceled too late to get their money back in Charlotte) and STILL has to comply by the rules.
But what do you expect from a party that screams about “fiscal responsibility” when a Democrat is in charge but has never shown any inkling of being good stewards of finances when they have control of coffers.
Republican donors deserve their fleecing.

Some Republican “sources” are now saying that the Jacksonville convention won’t be held and that some kind of virtual convention will takes its place.
So says an article in Vanity Fair.
There’s a fear that a lot of delegates simply won’t travel to Jacksonville for the convention and it could turn into a Tulsa style embarrassment.
A week or so ago,I gave odds at 1 in 10 that Trump would drop out.CG was surprised at that .Today ,I’m increasing those odds to 2 in 10.I still think it’s along shot but as the bad news keeps piling up and as fragile as Trumps ego is,one can see him suffering some type of breakdown and withdrawing for” health reasons” or something similar.

I still say only a 5% Trump calls it quits. James Carville thinks there’s a “significant chance” he does. Ole Jim may be doing that just to irk Trump and keep him in the race. I expect a tweet where he goes after Carville. “Crooked Hillary” etc etc.
